Reacting to USA vs. Poland Volleyball 2022 Men's VNL Semifinals 

Yah there are so many USA players in Poland this season!

@@ErikShojivolleyball On the other hand, what is the team that you played against this summer that was the most unpredictable for you? I know the top teams like Italy, Poland, USA, Brazil etc play each other all the time, but I can imagine even some lower ranked teams might cause you more trouble because you don't know them or play them that often. Can you think of such a team? Unless it doesn't matter at all and I'm just coming up with theories that have nothing do to with reality 😂

Maybe Turkey? You’re right we play a lot of the top teams many times but this summer was the first time I personally played against Turkey. And what a match it was!

First you want to know your hitter and if they have a tendency. Then you want to use your vision to see the ball and hitter relative to the outside blocker and the antenna. If the ball is outside the antenna you want to move Off the line. If the block is blocking more angle sometimes you want to come off the line. You want to see the ball, the spiker, the blocker, and the antenna and see how and where you want to move 😀

Thanks for watching! Great question. I love how specific you are! One thing to keep in mind is that as a defender you want to try and be able to see the ball. You want to try and create space around the block so you can cover that portion of the court. It doesn’t really change based on the amount of blockers unless there is a specific scouting tactic that tells you to defend a certain area vs a certain hitter. I hope that helps!

Long story short…defenders should try to be around the blockers and not behind them unless there is a scouting tactic. If the block is in front always be ready for tips or balls off the block! 😀

Poland is currently #1!

This year showed there are 4-5 that can compete for golden medals, if well prepared for the tournament. Brazil (although they will be changing to younger players inevitably), Poland, Italy, USA, France... bad draw/bad they and they can end up with no medal at all, but still they are top of the tops.

According to the men's FIVB ranking it's #1: Poland, #2: Italy, #3 France. As Arwena165 said the top teams are pretty close to each other and the form on the game day decides who wins. I think Poland has the #1 spot because they have been the most consistent winning a medal on almost every tournament.

There is a ranking system. Points based on different matches.

Its ranked #1 and definitely a top 3 team atm but that doesnt mean they cant lose. Italy is a fast evolving team with arguably the best coaching staff and its no shame losing to young talent. Paris 2024 is gonna be quite the show!
