FYI: Papa YG was really really mean to the trainee... Not because he hate them but because he knows very well that the outside world is cruel enough so in order for them to survive, he trained them harshly☺️
Sometimes i felt like he wasn't so bad after all, when I saw him smiling during performances. He probably just wants to toughen up the trainees and drive them to do their best
This shows 100% how it is like to be a trainee under YG. No filters on assessments. I am glad you really reacted and watched this because this is really worth it.
Yes.. How i like from yg treasure box.. They see us reality of the trainee live.. Like same with Jennie talk in blackpink documenter.. Not like other survival...
YG Entertainment is not like any other company in either korea or western....Hyung Suk was right when he said that YG have their own color and standards....n a part at the beginning idk if u guys saw or not but it was a notice paper in the building saying " THERES RULES TO FOLLOW IF YOU CAN'T THERES NO REASON FOR YOU TO STAY HERE "...So on point...I've stan YG since day one n I still do🤗🤗🤗💜
What's great about YG is that, they have their own counselors who would help their trainees and artists vent out how they truly feel. Many companies out there don't have one that's why some idols end up committing suicide or end up getting depression.
Idols under yg also suffer and have suffered from mental health and those same struggles regardless. And I don’t think they always had a counselor for trainees if that’s what she is but I’m glad that there is someone, at least it’s something now. I don’t think it’s for all of them though, in the show it says only the trainees that made it to team A had more access to things, so who knows if it was for everyone.
@@nabiteu45You're probably right. So far, none of the YG artists have committed suicide yet. At least from what I've heard, read or seen. Some of their artists and former artists experienced depression though, like T.O.P of Big Bang and Nam Taehyun of Winner. No one is immune to depression after all and no one really knows what exactly happens behind the curtains for these idols and trainees. No company is perfect but judging from what was shown in this reality show, this is definitely a good start for YG. And other companies should also consider taking care of their artists holistically which means their mental well-being should also be constantly taken cared of. It's just sad that in the K-Pop industry, idols are treated like they don't have feelings which is insane.
@@charrymaeorzal6518 Sulli and Goo Hara is friends with Bigbang members. And after 2 suicides TOP have depression . And Seungri scandal. Sorry for bad english
@@stillalive7842 That's true. When T.O.P went out of the military, he's been keeping everything about his life under wraps. He was really sad about Sulli and Goo Hara's deaths. All of the BigBang members who got out of the military are pretty much under the radar. Nobody really knows what they're up to these days and I think that's for the best. As for Seungri, I hope his trial went well. K-media has ruined his career and reputation. Don't worry about your English. ^_^ You're getting by. :)
Not gonna lie but yeah YG really does not hold his words back but I have to admit that YG's brutality is what pushes these children to do their absolute best because YG rarely (as in very rare) praises trainees and when he does, it means like the absolute world for them. I loved your reaction btw and looking forward to watching this survival show again with you two! :)
It's true, you're stating facts😊. For example. The way YG praised Lisa from Blackpink is everything that he even choose Lisa as the only female YG Idol to be part of the X Academy because YG has this talent that he sees someone's potential.
and then just need to see the outcome. People hate on YG artists and the artists be like: we trained under YG, your words dont hurt me! As YG himself said, he is tough on them, but people outside will be even worse. And this is something that seems to be passing through their artists as well. You see them working as mentors (like GD, Taeyang, B.I., Lisa, etc...) and they act a little bit like that as well because they know it is for the trainee's best.
If you watch WIN and Mix&Match, you’ll think Treasure are more blessed HAHAHAHA . Winner and iKON’s survival.... they cried so much. That’s more heartbreaking.
YGTB is the survival show that showed brotherhood more than competition. EVERY TEUMES got emotionally attached to all trainees that until now, we still support every single one of them. And PAPA YG is so rude but that is how he prepares his artists to the more cruel reality of kpop.
This show made teumes love TREASURE so much that we stayed for them even after their debut was delayed for 2yrs coz we followed their journey and we know how much they worked hard to reach for their dreams
Main Producer YG doesn't sugar coat his opinion and comment towards the trainees because the industry itself is hard, full of critics and mean too. He wanted to have strong artists that could handle it. 😭
yeah, people hate on them and they just answer with: we trained under YG, your words dont hit me. and then, maybe they just release a full disstrack on them xD
@@13dg very accurate 😂 but not all of them can handle strong criticism, they're human too right? but I always noticed that some of them really hates YG ent. you know a little issue they fuss and make it big deal 🤷
Just like what GD said, they’ve been used to brutal training and words from YG that’s why haters and bashers can’t affect them that much. So don’t worry, it’s not just Treasure who receives that kind of discipline, even bigbang,iKON and many more.
The YGTB reunions on music shows are always so funny and precious Also, those past trainees have all become really good idols in other groups - gets to show how much talent YG really has in the company
Well YG is brutal and I'm thankful for that. He's preparing his artists to the harsher world once they debut. He's training them to never let criticism and judgments get you. Once you do, it's over not only it will take your confidence but also your sanity (lot of kpop idols did not survive this which lead to suicide)
And people are asking how BigBang is able to come back bigger and better each time even after scandals. YG artists are tough...they don't break easily.
Omygad my sweet summer child, YG here is less brutal (unlike what he is on WIN & M&M) but still harsh tho. Yes, that's why being a yg trainee is already a big name only the fittest would debut.
@@soulmoonspace yes. same intensity but different pain i couldn't fathom myself watching those previous two. Can't even re-watch Bigbang Documentary coz YG horns were long during that time 😭
Now you know where Lisa, GD, CL, Hanbin and the others got that "perfectionist" vibe. They got it from trainings days and that what has made them so strong and successful these days no matter where YG is right now. Their artists are still the top tier
I've been became a YGstan since so long and yes This is 100% how YG train their trainee since so long too(BIGBANG, 2NE1, WINNER, IKON,AKMU & BLACKPINK). They always do those monthly assessment(its usually last friday every month) to see how their trainee improve every month. Being YG trainee is hard & good at the same time. Hard because u should pass the standar that YG have & the pressure as YG trainee. Good because YG have those free facility that trainee don't have to pay even when their debut not like some of other company that u have to pay back or don't even have a fasility like YG have. Also Yang Hyunsuk never going easy to their trainee to push them. He once said "maybe what i'm saying is cruel & harsh but the real world & this industry (ent) is more cruel & harsh than what i said to them". YG survival show really different from other survival show (i watch all survival show include all Mnet survival show & all YG survival show except Bigbang) but only YG survival show that show u like 100% real situation of how hard is to being trainee & if u want to became idols. They don't put a lot drama like others show and let the trainee survive & improve with their talent its like if u can't survive then u out.
Yang Hyun Suk must be so proud that the groups he created are making their own names, especially how they got ROTY in their respective years. *2009- 2ne1 ROTY* *2014- Winner ROTY, the term "Monster Rookies" was born after Winner slayed their debut year* *2015-iKON ROTY* *2016- Blackpink ROTY* *2020- Treasure ROTY*
OMG! I've been waiting for this. This is actually one of the most exciting survival show that I've watched! YG is literally the simon cowell of korea hahaha. He says what he wanted to say without sugar coating. he knows how to compliment and give constructive criticism. I respect him for that though :))
YG always harsh to their trainee, yang hyunsuk said himself why he being like that because “if they say i am cruel, let’s send them to the real world and see how cruel is it” So basically it is like tough love from YG so their artist will prepare mentally from the world. That’s why all YG artist alway at their best mentally. And also YG only debut artist at certain level so when they debut they really good at it. And that’s why i am a YGstan
We fell in love even more to TREASURE because of this show. We want to smack that YG but at that same time we feel thankful for him because of him, TREASURE is born. So much RESPECT for treasure.
And we can't deny he has a good eye for talent and for building a great group...really love the dynamics of Treasure now. They are such a good team. How YG was able to determine which ones to pick even with the numerous criticisms that time is beyond me.
Yang Hyunsuk(YG) used to say the reason for his strictness on BIGBANG survival show which “he had to be harsh on his trainees because the outside world will be more crueler to them.” I didn’t think he(YG) has mistaken though the hate toward idol groups are insane, it’s like ppl ready to curse on you if you make a slightly mistake on singing, dancing or rapping. YG had known this cause he’s also an idol himself, so I think he push them to excess their limits and also build them to have a stronger mentality as well. ps. Some fans really hate YG & some understand him but one thing, we can’t deny is that he has great eyes for talent and his foreseen of potential were god level 😂. For me, I really missed him(YG) I definitely like his “I don’t care” and “Let’s be real” attitude 🤣.
This is like 50% brutal, if you want to see more brutal than this, watch the earlier YG survival shows (WIN:Who is next, Mix and Match) . they literally started this trend of survival shows
Yes as Evelyn said there's one guy from here now debuted in P1Harmony, and also there's 2 guys from here debuted in CIX, and 1 guy debuted in WEi, you gonna realise those guys in the upcoming episode, can't wait for the next one ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Back then, when i was watching this treasure box, i was having anxiety attack almost every episode. When it finished, I almost swear I can't watch it again. But when TMAP aired, I missed their survival show. So let me watch it again together with Ams and Ev.
I love this. This is the perfect description. Only the strongest and the fittest will survive. When an artist is from YG, you know that he / she is absolutely talented.
Actually for me in this survival show YG is became more softer in my opinion because for me he was more harsh on Mix&Match(IKON) & WIN(Winner). But the way he push the trainee so hard & not being easy to them is the best because he know what he saying & his eyes never wrong to see a potential on people. Just like how people beeing mad to him because in the end he pick Junghwan & Jaehyuk but now that both became one of the most love member & talented member too. I also hate too see him saying those hard word to trainee but whay his saying is fact lols😅. Btw Yes YG survival show is different from others because its really show how trainee became an idol in YG & Yes YG always have those monthly assessment in the last friday every moth for all their trainee its like their tradition thats also how other YG artist became an idols (Bigbang, 2Ne1, Winner, IKON, Blackpink & Akmu). funfact the first survival show is came from YG if i'm not wrong (BIGBANG & WIN)
Bigbang was kinda documentray but idk if it can be a survival show since they also picked 5 members out of the six in the past, so i guess it can be considered? Hahaha anyway, yes as a yga stan i can say that YG gets softer as the years pass by but their whole training system didn't. I like it that everyone/staff/trainer didn't show any softness to this kids and that helped a lot to our faves now. There's a lot to say about how he handles his Artist but we have lots to be thankful too coz first and foremost, we can't have our faves now not because of him.
@@essaluna5711 yes same!!! I like how they not going easy when its come to working but the trainer& staff actually very kind & cute when they not being serious or doing their job lols😅🤭
U have to prepare your heart in every single moment of this survival show. YG survival shows (win, mix&match, mixnine, treasure box) were the reason that fans love YG artist so much. And from this show, u can understand the difference between criticism (to motivate) and bad comment. I'm happy rewatching YGTB with u, guys.
I love how you reacted to Ep1! I'll wait for your next episode because it's fun seeing how natural your reactions are. They're basically the same reaction we had as YGTB Teumes! THIS IS THE REASON WHY WE ARE THIS PASSIONATE, PROTECTIVE, LOYAL AND SUPPORTIVE WE ARE OF OUR 12 TREASURE(S)! What they went through was not in any way normal nor sugar coated but this is the reality of how idols train in Korea. We also feel the same against YHS but we eventually saw what his visions were. Just like what you said, he is not really mean but he knows what he is looking for... else there wouldn't be BigBang, 2NE1, Winner, iKon, BlackPink and now Treasure!
I respect your audacity to watch this. I mean, yup that was so brutal. And it’s so hurt to see their struggle. My niece is new teume, she became Teume from i love u era. And she plan to watch TBOX. And i just said, “you have to prepare everything, mentally and emotionally”
This was really brutal and YG is so harsh but the world is much harsh that's why he's like that to his trainees. It's better to point out the trainees where they are lacking than people outside that room criticizing them because they are lacking. And everyone knows that he is perfectionist but I like him tho, compared to other agencies
@@xgyg10 Hyunsuk's laugh is music to my ears. I love how easy he laughs and how he always seem like he is going to die from laughing while lovingly looking at Treasure.
I love how you girls react to this but know who the members ARE that got picked lol. It's so refreshing to watch coz you see what they all went through to get where they are today.
And others have the audacity to say that YG artists had it easy. This is why I love YG artists the most. They always have a soft spot in my heart. YHS shows tough love with his trainees because he knows that they will experience more when they debut. Many may hate him but he makes artists not just idols.
44:06 My exact thoughts for your next Treasure Box reaction 😂😭. Like y'all have the best reactions. No one that I know here knows or cares about Kpop (I'm new to it myself - August).... So these reactions are like having friends who like and understand the same shit you do. This show will break your hearts and make you smile at the same time. I feel like this show is better to watch AFTER knowing who debuted for some reason. Seeing the familiar happy faces before they even get to know each other... It's a strange experience but good.
I was already looking for the 2nd episode then I realized this was just posted. Lol! This show is brutal but this is how I came to know the boys and saw their growth. I like that YGE was brave enough to show how it really works inside their company. They try to be as raw as they can.
It was brutal but that's just the way yg trains their trainees because when they go out of their shells(when they debut) the world will be more harsh to them. That's what I like about Treasure box unique from any survival shows that only shows good side with only good compliments The *I take it back* part real quick was so funny lmao hahahahahaha
Junkyu was eliminated earlier in Mixnine which was produced by YG. YG has a high praised to him but he was eliminated earlier with rank 35 😥😥😥 JYP also said theres nothing special about him so his confidence really drop.
It's been a long time since i last watch ygtb. Like i wanna rewatched them but im afraid i might be crying again. So here i am, watching together with u guys. Thank you so much for this vid
idk if you knew about this, but YG does monthly assessment for their trainees to see their growth. it’s always on the last friday of the month where they’re being tested. they had to prepare for group performance + solo performance. every single months. their monthly assesments are being recorded too for a record. now you can imagine how much Yedam & Junkyu had done monthly assessments since they’re the longest trainees. yedam trained for almost 8 years & Junkyu trained for 7 years (this include 2019-2020 where they are on hiatus until their debut) im just soo happy that they endured their trainee life and make it to debut. but its also sad that they had go through alot of pains(mentally & physically) 😭😭 idk, rewatching this with you guys again really wanna makes me cry🥺🥺 please continue watching treasure box until the end. 💗💗
Im Watching again bcoz of you two.. hehe..😆 Its just Ep.1 and I love ur Reaction Already so Much.. I cried.YG will show you both the Good, The Bad and the Struggles. How it navigated to who TREASURE is today. I Hope you will keep an Open Mind and Enjoy! You will appreciate How they Have Grown Now and how TREASURE continue to work Hard. There will be alot of Learnings to Take Away from this as a Fan, Starting with Respect❤
I wanna say that goodluck for this. After you done watching YGTB, the treasure effect will never fade. You'll support them forever. Because of this survival show, you will attached to them more. If you are obsessed with them now, you'll obsessed more especially you watched their first journey. As a treasure maker in YGTB era, if you really want to attach, love them hard because of their talents, watching this survival show is really highly recommended. The next is Treasure Map for their personalities. Im not stanning this hard for a kpop group but Treasure is really worth it to stan hard because they are TREASURE who needs full support, love and protect.
I actually watched this when it was airing. 😂 Imagine the nerve wrecking scene. I literally cursed yg because of this. Hahaha I can't wait to see your reaction to the group battle, 1:1 and 2:2. Btw, Love your reaction💕
Watching YG survival show is like more scary than watching horor movie for me specialy when u watch it at the same time its airing lols😅. U have to prepare your heart & mental 100% ready before watch it or u will be stress out if u don't. And actually for me Treasure Box is actually less Brutal or Cruel then other YG survival show (WIN and MIX&MATCH) but for people that watch YG survival show for the first time... i can't say anything because yes its really cruel or Brutal & 100% u will hate & love to watch it because how hard YG to those trainee but yeah i think it was a good thing because YG make their trainee not only have amazing talent but also a strong mental before out to the Intertaiment Industry (there is many idols that end up suiced because not have a strong mental even tho they have amazing talent). Btw actually the one that make survival show thing became a trend is YG ent🤭
Finally!!! In fact, this is the 4th times I watch YG Treasure Box. And everytime I finished the episodes, I am falling in love with them again and again and again. 😍😍😍 Now, Lets rewatch it together 💙
If I actually watch this thru with you this is probably my 8th time watching this series :))) It's still weird to remember the feelings back when I didn't know who would debut vs. when I knew
It's really a must for new teumes to watch YGTB after watching tmap, TMI, 3m treasure etc., because you will appreciate and love them more. Their hardships, their tears and heartbreaks in YGTB will make you love and adore them more, really.
I couldn't even finish the whole show cause during that time I'd feel heart broken when I realized that not all of them couldn't make. When I wanted all of them to debut. I only watched highlights from each ep but never watched the heartbreaking scenes. Also I'm glad most of the boys who didn't make it made it to debut within other groups.
And there are even people asking them to just debut all 29...so I wanted to whack some people now complaining about line distribution, screen time, and such. Anyway, I'm happy with the Treasure we have now and I trust that everyone will have their own time to shine.
I didn't realize how hard it was to be an idol not after I watched YGTB. It makes you appreciate more Treasure's journey after watching their humble beginnings.
Actually YG produces the most brutal survival show among Entertainment companies, if you want try watching WIN and Mix & Match. All YG artist that debuted today deserved their spot.
Just wait, you will feel rollarcoaster with this show, happy, joy, angry, cry, we already felt that when this show aired.. More episode so more tears will come
Oh that heavy emotion will double in the next coming episodes. You ain't seen nothing yet. Literally. Make sure you have a tissue box around. Thank you for loving Treasure.
what i love about yg treasure box is that it shows you the reality. how training works, their skills, even how they deal with their trainees' mental health, and just basically how groups are formed. unlike other survival competitions which only shows you the surface level, ygtb gives it to you raw nothing fancy just pure talent.
Not comparing tho, but Treasure Box is depressing but Who Is Next *another YG survival show for Winner and Ikon* definitely a whole different breed of emotional journey
✨Yoonbin was the supposedly 13th member of Treasure, but left to pursue a solo career. ✨Jongseob, the other rapper in Treasure C is in P1harmony. ✨Seokwa is in WEi ✨Byounggon and Seunghun of Treasure A is now in CIX, they left YGE before the announcement of final 13 members.
you have to pay attention to the traine named Ha Yoonbin. because he made his debut as Treasure13, but he left in December 2019 so Treasure only has 12 members. actually Ha Yoonbin is my bias
If you think this is brutal. Watch Mnet and YG's "Win: Who Is Next" which created Winner and "Mix and Match" which created iKON those shows were judged by Bigbang and 2NE1 and also the trainees were trained by them.
Yedam and Jeongwoo is studying in SOPA and it's like an Idol school because most Idols are studying or graduated in that school, so I think it's normal for them to have an Idol/trainee schoolmate/classmate.
Yang Hyunsuk words are harsh because its the truth but its better than praising them with lies. Strong mentality comes from this kind of experience and I think that is his purpose for being harsh. Also At the end of this show you can actually understand him choosing Junghwan and Jaehyuk. He really does have an amazing eyes for talented people 👍
This is just to remind people who always said being an idol from big3 company esp YG is privilege and easy. In fact they are trained harder and harsh in a good way to always develop their talent. And what after their debut is what we see all from them. Being success because of their pure hard working and talent, and they all deserve it. So yeah, if other people see the whole YG survival show (BIGBANG Documentary, WIN:Who is Next, MIX & Match) they will know exactly why YG Artists are indeed the group of pure talent. And hope people stop saying BIG3 privilege when they receive a well deserved award or achievements. They are also work hard as same as other idol from other company.
Junkyu, hyunsuk, and byonggon have previously participated in a survival called mixnine. Hyunsuk was one of the members who would debut, but for some reason their debut was stopped. During the mixnine, Junkyu was heavily criticized by JYP and that was what made him lose a lot of confidence. When YGTB started, he started to regain his confidence back. thanks to the trainees and also Yang Hyun Suk. And that's how we all finally get to see the cheerful and confident junkyu today
You're in for a rollercoaster ride... Can't wait to watch with you... ep 2 is one of the most memorable episodes... But, please do understand that everything they went through made them tougher and ready(at least) for the toxic world out there... esp. hyunsuk...
