I've got a hot take: skyrocket II's are actually really fun, even with the comfort collars.

About the "Toro should be RMC'd" one... I genuinely don't understand why people want already good wooden coasters RMC'd. Yes I get it RMC makes good coasters, but they make good coasters out of old wooden coasters no one likes or cares about any more. Why would you ever close a coaster that's having no real issue? If it still pulls crowds, maintenance doesn't have mental breakdowns over it, the general public generally still enjoys it, why close it? People seem to be heavily forgetting that retracking a wooden coaster can be a significantly better option than RMCing it. If the layout is already good, then why not retrack it? If the coaster can't be saved even by retracking and/or it just does not pull the crowds any more, or it has a godawful layout that doesn't do anything, then sure put RMC into the "consideration pile". I don't like the trend of enthusiasts wanting EVERY wooden coaster over 20 years old to get the RMC treatment. At least leave some of them alone.

I once had a really fun ride on Riddler’s Revenge at Magic Mointain because the operator didn’t push the seat down enough (I was pretty short) so I was basically flying for the whole ride.

When it comes to front row vs. back row, I can't imagine an RMC being better in the front. Wicked Cyclone in the back, for instance, has this ridiculous amount of ejector. I've just never gotten quite as much in the front, and I think that holds true for a lot of RMCs.

Have you done Twisted Colossus front vs back? Front crawls over the first drop while back RIPS you over the top.

Being GP at an amusement park is literally so much better than being an enthusiast at a theme park.

Hot Takes: - Griffon is my favorite coaster (having been to BGW, Kings Dominion, Hersheypark) - Sky Rocket IIs are actually insanely good

I actually liked Mantis before the conversion and I know it’s spicy to say that a stand up was enjoyable

Hot take: Scream is one of the most well rounded and best paced rides at Magic Mountain, and possibly my personal favorite. Way underrated coaster.

Disclaimer: Kings Dominion is my home park, and I've only been to Carowinds once (a few weeks ago) About Kings Dominion > Carowinds, I'd say they're on very close tiers, for the general public they'd probably say Carowinds because it has more rides + less intense ones, but from a enthusiast perspective, they'd be about the same because of the top rides (in my opinion)

On the King dominion>Carowinds, I visited both this summer, both were fantastic I think as far as appearance kd looks nice i305 is intense, twisted timber’s is the best rmc I have ever ridden absolutely insane, Dominator is good , fell in love with carowinds after Fury325, copperhead strike, and afterburn, both amazing parks and definitely a must do for any enthusiasts

5:59 Agree- I went to BGT on a really packed day and we had to catch a literal flight at 7 pm so we had to squeeze it in and I only got to ride Sheikra, Cheetah Hunt, and Montu (in that order too) and out of all of those I think Sheikra was my favorite. Probably because i had such low expectations for it and high expectations for cheetah hunt and montu (thought those two rides were good but nothing i would rush back to BGT for), also it was my first dive coaster so I didn’t know what to expect.

Verbolten is one of the best family coasters in America. You get launches, indoor, outdoor, helixes, negatives in the back rows, a drop track, a scenic drop over the water, and it’s re-rideable because it has different light and sound packages

whenever you plan to go to carowinds make sure you ride copperhead strike, and afterburn in the back, and for FURY 325 the front is the way to go, the back does have an extremely good drop tho

I feel like the B&M rattle greatly contributes greatly to Diamondback's inconsistent ride experience. It can deliver such an excellent ride, but when it gives a bad ride, its often then that I am noticing the rattle and groaning metal.

And another hot take: Seaworld made a good Decision to open Iron Gwazi and Ice Breaker in 2022

Hot take : Silver Bullet is a great coaster that *is* forceful, not all B&M inverts need to be whippy to be good.

I’d say rattles on B&M only matter where they can actually cause genuine discomfort like on a ride like Firebird where the rattles caused headbanging outside of the back row which is surprisingly really fun

Having ridden Hulk a couple of weeks ago, it is a bit forceless, although that’s not bad. It did feel weak but also fun, and most people aren’t a fan of strong g forces so it’s beneficial. Also, this was after ridden Kraken, which tried to kill me.

I got one, hot take: yukon striker (Canada's wonderland) it's very fun because of the straight down drop and then you go underground with a big loop and then a inversion.

Totally agree with the forbidden journey!!! The ride was ok, but as someone who has an ok strong stomach l, I was feeling nauseous for a while after. The best part was the queue, which was so good. If I go back I will wait in the queue again and just skip the ride

alright. I don’t go on coasters much but there’s one in wildwood that REALLY stood out. The Great White. It was an amazing ride (And even able stand up to el toro not in air time but in pure fun)

I definately agree with the Mine Blower take. When I went to Orlando in 2017 it was actually my favourite coaster of the trip. I've seen the Velosicoaster POV, don't see Velosicoaster topping it. Iron Gwazi might have a chance though. Keep in mind the ride was like 10 days old when I rode it and I could see the potential for it getting rough which some of my friends who have been down there since say has happened. But based on my rides, it is the best coaster in Florida. I also agree with the take on Candymonium. While I do enjoy it and it holds a special place for me having been my 200th credit, not gonna lie I prefer Apollo's Charriot (still a lower tier B&M hyper). And it really isn't close between them. It isn't the worst B&M hyper but it is the worst B&M hyper with airtime as the main focus. But my hot take on that is that's exactly what Hersheypark needed: you want intensity go ride Skyrush. As an enthusiast I definately prefer Skyrush but more shockingly Candymonium may not even be in my top 5 at Hersheypark. But considering what the GP think of Skyrush having Candymonium as the big GP croudpleasee is exactly what the park needed. I will say though, it's been almost a decade since Hershey has done something aimed at thrillseakers, their next coaster should be aimed at thrillseekers.

I think Millie has a great drop in the back, because you have the speed over he hill, which is massive, so you get really sustained (not quite ejector) airtime for what feels like 3 full seconds

U can’t say a coaster is bad just because it’s not what u enjoy the most, toro looks like a MASTERPIECE

hot take: i like rage in adventure island, 3 inversions, not to small, not to big, not to rough, not too smooth, not that intense, its just a nice and fun thrill coaster.

On the Front Row Vs Back Row Debate I am with you on it depending on the ride with the exception of one coaster... Velocicoaster front and back row are entirely different experiences that are equally as amazing. The top-hat, for instance, front row you don't get ejected but as it begins its descent you find yourself almost falling into air time ( I know, this sounds crazy but you'll understand what I'm talking about once you have felt it) and the back row ejects you as you are pulled over the top. Both experiences are equally amazing, but very different at the same time. I actually enjoyed the back row on this one more than the front, but only fractionally. Typically I would agree that launched coasters are better in the front, but this one is an exception.

imagine the layout on el toro rmc though, but either way id be happy cause el toro is my favorite wooden coaster and in my top 3

4:45 this entire thing is true asf, and I haven't even been on a standup before. I know it's true, though, because I was standing in the line for stormrunner for 2 hours, and that 2 minutes of sitting down was the best feeling in the world.

The Boss at Six Flags St. Louis has one of the best wooden coaster layouts and is has to be CCIs best creations.

tbh Standup coasters are fun to me. If you push it all the way down you can still stand up. When you are in the middle of an inversion and stand up you feel weightless and its great. they get to much hate tbh

I think that DC rivals hyper coaster is the best Mack rides thrill coaster, Scooby doo spooky coaster is the best wild mouse, and superman escape is an elite intamin hydraulic launch coaster. Btw these are the big 3 coaster at my home park (Movie world, goldcoast).

In response to B&M rattles. Some of them actually are bad enough to give you a headache. Im not particularly sensitive to roughness, but i have gotten a headache after some particularly rattle-y rides on orion, diamondback and banshee.

Hot take: El Toro has dropped significantly for me just because of how neglected it's been. Jersey Devil Is better than El Toro. I don't think it should be RMC'd, Six Flags could do better

Here are some of mine Boomerangs are pretty dang fun Magnum is my favorite coaster I prefer gemini over SteVe The B&M rattle really isn't that bad The Beast is actually really fun. Millennium "Forceless" is pretty forceful. And lastly, Dive coasters are really damn good.

As someone’s who has been to kings dominion, twisted Timbers airtime feels like you’re being launched to the moon. You literally slap into the restraints

Hot take: I can see Worlds of fun becoming an upper tier cedar fair park with the right amount of competition from Adventureland and Lost Island, and possibly SFSTL.

My hot takes- 1-there should be more consistency in business model between nick universe American dream and nick universe mall of America. 2-American dream should have at bear minimum had at the water park and at least some of the major anchor stores + 20 to 30 of the smaller store near the parks open along side nick universe before opening the mall to the public, because had they done that, from day 1 they could have made the mall itself a half day/ potential full day experience 2- some of people who make virtual coasters (I.e no limits 2 enthusiasts) deserve so much more praise

Hot take: gatekeeper is a lot more fun than millennium. Millennium is kinda wack and doesn’t deliver much airtime as I think a giga should, but gatekeeper does exactly what a wing should

I think RRR is a good ride, just uncomfortable for someone skinny like me who was jostling around in the harness the entire time--and I'm not someone who complains about roughness or rattling often. I don't start greying out often on many roller coasters, but something between the jostling and staring up at the sky during the "G clef" segment got to me. It's not unrideable, it's pretty fun and I totally recommend riding it, but if you don't fit that restraint well then it might not be the best.

What!???!! Nitro is smooth as balls!!! Last time I rode it I remember thinking it might be the smoothest ride I’ve been on.

my hot take: SLCs are actually really good. I have ridden Thunderhawk at MA at least 30 times this season and i’ve had maybe a couple bad rides but the vast majority were really good.

On the standup>floorless I don’t agree mostly because last time I went on a stand up,(riddlers revenge) I got a terrible ride. But on the same day I got an amazing ride on scream which made it boost into my top 4. (Edit) I’ve literally only been to magic mountain so take my opinion with a mountain of salt

Hot Take: B&M Inverts are worse than any other major manufacture's model (literally i call my home park's Batman Brain Bang because i got such a bad headache we almost had to go home)
