Reacting to Your Stream Setups! OH MY GOD... 

My biggest problem with the "overdone" cable management is that troubleshooting often turns into complete disassembly of your setup.

Haven't watched yet but intend to drink every time I see a nanoleaf or room scale RGB.

Dude acoustics in a room with slanted ceilings are excellent. I had a room with two queen beds and some rugs and the sound properties with no sound conditioning was fantastic. I moved into a standard box room with a bed and carpet and it reverbs like nobody's business. While I hated the slanted ceilings for being a foot too low and managing to whack my VR controllers into them frequently, the sound stage in the room was great.

Jay: We want to know what the audience sees. Me: I see tires and a ladder (probably liquid cooled, overclocked)

Jay your comment about setting up a stream scene for lighting would be a great video, along with that you could do a video on how to set up sound profiles on Mics for streaming and what settings are best for OBS. An overall video/videos explanation on how to optimize your stream would be awesome!

In the US Navy it is normal to have only three ribbons displayed. You were probably credited for many more but some get so many that it's a bit cumbersome to wear all that candy

Jay, just a quick heads up on the ribbons on the uniform. In the Navy (not sure about other branches), we are authorized to wear only our top 3 ribbons if desired. You will see a lot of the old salts that have a crazy stack just wear the top 3 because they don't want to walk around with all the bling every day. They will typically only bust out the whole stack for more formal events.

I like the idea of you showing us how to use lighting, but you shoukd also show us noobs how to stream on a pc with all of the necessary tech. I'd like to stream one day, but I currently have NO idea how to use twitch, or ANY of the gear needed to stream. Great vid!

My own setup is a massive mess of wires predominantly because the 60s era in which the house was constructed meant ALL the power points sit above desk height. Not a whole I can do about it until I get my own place. These setups honestly make me pretty jealous of their neatness.

I could be wrong. But super even 3 point lighting is used a lot for green screen setups I believe.

Foam wedges are not basstraps! You'd actually be better off with the flat absorber panels with insulation wrapped in fabric in the corners... if they're at least 4 inches thick and put floor to ceiling diagonally in the corners. 6 to 8 (or more) inches deep is better. If money is no issue then you could try actual tuned basstraps. But for vocals 4 to 6 inch deep flat panels across all corners and a couple on the walls are plenty fine. If you want to know more, a good place to start for example is 'Acoustic treatment 101'.

If it's making noise when moving, it's time to lube up. WD-40 Specialist Water Resistant Silicone Lubricant dries quick and doesn't leave a complete mess when applied correctly. Should work fine with squeaky chairs and mic arms.

15:00 Probably, you could split the area around the PC case in 2, where intake is on the right side compartment, and the top and rear exhaust are in the left side compartment. A board sits on top of the front of the case, preventing air from circulating back to the front. If you have about the width of half your case behind the drawers to the wall, that should be enough of a 'window' for the fans to pull in enough air. At minimum it should be half the fan width; given the desk is a little higher than the case. On the left side, convection should have the hot air leaking out the top and cooler air flowing in through the bottom. It should be fine.

Jay... I have to say, I've really come to appreciated the audio quality on your channel. One of the few I can actually listen to on my laptop without haven't to crank the volume to 80+. So many RU-vid channels these days are recording their vids at levels that are so freaking low it's annoying, and I've just quit watching a lot of them as a result.

niche space, needs to be taken into consideration when rating builds. I mean channles like I Justine can be done with a cellphone & any editing software or she can hire a fiverr editor. Meditation channles don't show a web cam or interact with audience. Gaming to play & stream not mention recording then yeah a dope system is needed. In most cases even if your a Potato but have good fps, a dslr & a good mic you can still make some money.

Jay and crew don't know who Andie the Lab is! They have a pretty big crossover in interests, being PC/car RU-vidrs who stream and do sim driving. I imagine Phil would appreciate the cinematic quality of her reviews as well. It was cool to see her setup reviewed, though. sooooooo ribbons....in the navy and coast guard while in dress uniform you have the choice to wear a full rack, or your high three. if you have 20 medals, a rack is a pain....so most go with high three.

I plan on building a computer room eventually, in my dad's barn,(I know, don't flame me for living at home at age 34 especially in the current climate) and it's going to be primarily lit by LED Strips all around the ceiling, (on at least 3 sides) with possibly some kind of matrix digital rain style wallpaper on the walls in the back end where my computer will be located, along with some kind of green/ice blue LED light strips on the rear of my workbench surface, which will be either an L shaped desk, or else multiple desks set up in an L shape when I get done with building the room, which will be an inch or two off the wall, with a small ledge underneath, with a backsplash, in case I need to hide cables for computers I'm working on, behind the desk...

Hmm. Why does everyone have their PC next to them? I know that it's a 'feature' to some, but the noise! I put mine on the other side of the room, out of view and, most important, very nearly inaudible. There have been a couple of weird issues to overcome with items like GoXLR preferring a dedicated USB port, but everything works. Would love to hear Jay's opinion on siting the PC away from the desk.

i recently got a desk. havent had one for 6 years which wasnt great as im an artist lol. ive cable managed it and i think it looks fine providing you dont look under the desk. i really wanna redo it though. i think i did a bad job with the actual management of the cables and yeah, its just a mess under there

Can we please start some kind of series that explores new tech stuff since “traditional” pc world is on its ear? Like I can think about 50 projects with a pi that would be awesome. Nothing to technical, we don’t need to get off in the weeds with coding and what not, but a retro pi, or a magic mirror, or whatever. Shoot, even do a “rewiring” the office Ethernet video.

I got the Logitech keyboard but in wired form. To save money of course. But ironically I didn't know this but apparently Logitech software is more optimized than razer. Of course with razor you can do multiple RGB software on one profile. But razer software is not as optimized as Logitech it seems. I still have my razer mouse. That was funny is when he first boot up the computer, the keyboard goes to its programmed RGB faster than the Razer mouse does. And recently once in awhile my old razer keyboard wouldn't turn on. I know Logitech RGB software is not as advanced as razor but they are more optimized surprisingly. Hmmm

After your ribbon bar gets to a certain point, it is too heavy to wear all your ribbons at once. The easiest authorized solution is to only wear your top 3 ribbons.

Kinda surprised there aren't many dual rig setups in here. But I suppose that's because most games don't hammer modern CPU's and GPUs to the point of making single rig streaming painful these days. I'm a star citizen streamer and let me tell you...in the most recent patches: your stream will look like shit and drop frames constantly if you attempt it on a single rig with that game now a days. I game on a 9900KF @5Ghz all core, and a 2080ti FE, it pushes my CPU load pretty high, and pegs out the GPU to 98% load playing in 2560x1080. NVENC doesn't stand a chance. Seen plenty of my fellow streamers attempt it and where they once were fine on single rig, now they struggle with dropped frames and stream/game lag on single rig setups.

Some interesting setups there for sure. Personally I dont see the whole point to doing a elaborate setup like these for streaming stuff online, then again I dont see the point to streaming online to begin with. And WHY so much RGB? I know, I know its the trendy thing to do......🙄. I do enjoy watching these videos for Jay's awesome if wacky expressions, humor and knowledge.
