I feel like you're one of the people Joe is talking about 😂. It's fine that u wanna see the RU-vidrs u like more, but the fact that some of them are in it even for 1 second it's a big deal bc there are sooo many of them that didn't even get that, just appreciate the editing and filming and the ability of getting most RU-vidrs from around the world to be in it, bc it really is hard work. And like Joe said, if u don't like it then just don't watch it lol
Oh no, I really enjoyed it. It's production value is spectacular, but when I look back on the older YT Rewinds I feel that this one doesn't compare. This one may have included many more people but it missed out on some of the largest creators on this platform... That's just my opinion though.
RU-vid rewind. It was terrible to be honest. Way too many creators in not enough time. Nobody got enough screen time, and half the people nobody knew. It was too flashy, and the bit about the problems in the world, was so out of place. The worst bit was choosing bloody despacito as a song. My least favourite trends, fidget spinners, slime, a thousand degree knives, dabbing and Jake Paul. The best bit, was literally the ending, where RU-vid recognised the animation gang, it was honestly a shame that they were at the credits. Saying that, the fact they did get so many people in so many different places was impressive, but they could have organised it better. I like the dead memes bit, that was cool, but current memes I’ve never understood. Maybe nobody will care about this, but this is my opinion.
maybe in your part of the world nobody knew half the people bc theres a lot of popular international youtubers that never get recognition bC they arent from popular countries/places such as america, uk etc. so no one takes in that they exist, so yt actually gives them recognition and adds them to yt rewind. and ofc nobody got enough screentime, sm people demand their favourite youtubers in it and they can only make the rewind so long, so they have to add as much youtubers as they can and sTILL even after adding so many, theres still many who complain ab the fact their fav youtubers werent in it. so its either giving more screentime to them, and having less youtubers, where more people will hate or they get less screentime, have more youtubers and more people are satisfied. as well as despacito, they had to choose it, it was one of the most popular trends in 2017 and thats what rewind is ab, they cant leave it out bc it was highly relevant for like half of the year, they wouldnt be living up to rewind standards if they didnt. yt cant please everyone they did the best they can. personally i loved the concept this year especially the problems in the world bc that definitely was an important part of 2017, not everything is positive and happy and im glad they showed that and showed how everyone came together bc of the crisis', but i understand how u think its a mess and how barely anyone got screentime bc i mean i was partly there to see david and he was in it for literally one second so, and, i found the remix wayyy too boring, but yea SORRY this is so long but yea im not trying to start an argument im just trying to comprehend and elaborate on what your saying
Of course you would not know everyone, youtube is not restricted to the United States or any other country, youtube is worldwide. I'm from brasil. I do not know how, but I started watching this video on youtube by recommendation. I'm sorry for my English :(
i agree with you about the animators. they were probably the best part for me and they got crammed in with the credits. a lot of people probably didn’t even watch the credits. youtube definitely could’ve treated them better by giving them clips for them to animate themselves into.
I agree. Instead of celebrating the year of positivity hardship within RU-vidrs, RU-vid only incorporated the “trendy” bits in order to advertise and benefit for themselves. They’re not acknowledging the hard work and effort that many RU-vidrs put in. Like Pewdiepie, he wasn’t even asked to be apart of RU-vid Rewind yet he creates content for his viewers everyday? Not a lot of people can do that, creating, editing, and uploading videos everyday.
The “animation crew” did a horrible job they could’ve used real animators like hotdiggedydemon or lightsen who actually take more than a month to make a quality animation rather than recruiting some basic as hell cookie cutter animators who don’t put forth nearly as much effort as the real animators on this platform

For me youtube rewind has been something I've looked forward to and loved every one... up until now. Regardless of who is/ is not in it, this one honestly was not anywhere near as good as I've come to expect. The previous ones were fun to watch and flowed perfectly, this one was just a whole bunch of things vomited up and thrown together.

I'm so happy they included RU-vidrs from other countries too. Like they included the largest Dutch RU-vidrs which was really fun for me to see because I'm Dutch, and it shows that RU-vid is more international than just America and the UK.
I totally agree with what was said about the RU-vid Rewind 2017. Personally I was impressed that they managed to fit so much of the RU-vid community and 2017 happenings in literally less than 8 minutes. But that’s just my 2 cents worth 🤷🏻♀️

This a kind of rant I can get behind - a positive rant. I personally loved this year's Rewind, just like I love them all, and I honestly don't get the automatic hate towards new things. I do respect other opinions, but I have loved so many new things, as much as have old things, I just never get why they are hated without being given a chance (I'm not just talking about Rewinds there, just new things). The one real negative thing about this Rewind, for me, was that it was hard to see everyone at times - a lot of people were all together in one shot, or it went by too quick. I still loved it, but it was easier to spot the references than the RU-vidrs, which doesn't have to be a bad thing (I didn't recognise anyone in RU-vid Rewind: What Does 2013 Say? the first time I watched it, but I still loved it). You guys did a lot better at recognising people, and yes, there were people I knew in this Rewind, I just failed to spot them in time. However, that was the only thing, and I can still enjoy the way the Rewind was put together, and it was nice seeing the references and hearing the music mashups (which I love hearing). It was still beautifully put together in my opinion, just a hard Rewind to give everybody a shot where they could be seen, due to how they filmed some of it (which they may not have had a choice due to what they were referencing), or it could just be how I saw it (I was mostly, without meaning to, focusing more on the memes, rather than the RU-vidrs, when I reacted to it), but I still loved it, and will continue to rewatch it - I will more likely notice the people and the things that I missed the next time, as is always the case. Also, I ended up thinking the same thing about the eclipse during the tragedy part as you - like they were saying "We know that there are times when the world is in darkness, but if we have each other, there will be light." I was actually skeptical that they'd reference the tragedies this year in the actual Rewind, because I couldn't think of anyway it would work (they did well to pay tribute to the deaths of Prince and David Bowie last year), and I couldn't think of a way they could do it without accidentally seeming disrespectful, and expected just a dedication at the end, but what they did was really beautiful. I really hope you don't mind this long comment, if you read it, but I wanted to say that I am totally behind you with what you say, and I had to get a detailed reply into you, I hope that was okay. Also, I think planking was there because the graveyard is full of what I am sure is supposed to be "dead memes" - the planking confused me at first too.
