That’d be great but they’d have to make sure the juries give them enough points, cause it has a lot of direct competition and even if it wins the televote, it’s probably not by a landslide
@@Querviinho I agree. If the rumours are true that Dami Im is representing Australia again this year, then juries will eat her up. It could be a battle between the two like Tattoo and Cha Cha Cha
@@KyleClarke-pj4dpWell, true, so far we haven’t had a lock for a jury win as well. But I just don’t see it for Croatia to even remotely do as well as Cha Cha Cha cause unlike Kaarija who had no direct competition really, Croatia already has Finland and Estonia to worry about, not to mention The Netherlands are probably also giving us something crazy, fun and televote bait. I also think Norway has the edge when it comes to the rock elements, and Estonia has the edge on the fun
When you listen to any song for the first time and you listen to it in one piece until the end and then you go to listen again because maybe it's too short??, as if you need more... It just keeps you on a high level until the end without a break. Everything is so well connected ,words, message, rhythm, melody, visuals..Everything so well connected and conveyed. Rim tim tagi dimm, he takes you right away but I think he stays for a long time and today that is not easy. Well done BL
I really didn't necessarily WANT to like Croatia's song. I just listened to Rim Tim Tagi Dim for my very first time today, and seeing this performance for my first time - I'm calling it now: CROATIA IS WINNING ESC 2024.
He is a song writer, wrote the song. I think his vocals were so much better already, will improve even more until May. He held the mic closer to his mouth compared to the semi final. Hope he will have a head mic so he can jump around freely. He is an introvert and a shy guy, doesn't like the hype so the fact he pulled it of under so much pressure is impressive.
What a charming lady, love your reaction and i completely agree with everything you said, Wish Baby Lasagna best at ESC and i hope he wins! Many many hughs from Croatia❤
This feels like it could be a Portugal 2017 moment where a country that has just historically really struggled comes out of nowhere to steal the show and ignite something special. Look at the Quality consistency that Portugal has been giving us ever since they won the contest because it revitalized their music scene and gave people hope that they could do well. Imagine what this song winning could do for the Croatian music scene, ESPECIALLY considering this came from an artist with no Insider connections and who wasn't even going to make the original cut. That's a real rags to riches story!
He just has to win. As you said, he has it all. The song absolutely rocks in every way! Besides, he's a simple, genuine guy of the kind we rarely see any more these days. Great reaction video! :) Croatia FTW *meow*
alesia. watched u for some years now. thnx for suporting croatia at this fine moment. finaly subsribed ( like only to 5 ppl till now) love uuuu and your reactions :)
Totally agree with you. It feels like: Yes, this can win. 🏆 The Croatian public was sooo clearly behind this performance. And Croatia did a very good job in their preselection show Dora for 25 years. It would be really cool to celebrate this with a win.
Thank you for a great review! I think he could also get sympathies on behalf of his character as he is a quite humble guy from a small town who came to Dora as a reserve. So the narrative of Croatia not winning before + the way he won Dora + his calm and humble demenour when the PR starts hard could cement this.
story behind song is that young people from Croatia going from home to work in foreigner country's to make money for living, that's why he sad on start "i'm big boy now" he is old enough to go on path where lots of young was before him , and then he say i sold my cow, he make money from selling cow to have enough money to start better life in other country and buy ticket for boat to leave, he make party for his village to dance with them for last time because its best way to cover his sadness because he is leaving his loving village and loving people behind. On official video you can see him how he is going away and waiting for boat thats why end of song have melancholy piano at the end of video and thats why he have that suitcase on stage because he leaving away, i hope i explain to all here what's song is about, in short: he is leaving his village and he making last party for loving people from his village for last time....also i want to add THIS WAS HIS FIRST PERFOMANCE EVER, he made song in his badroom and now is on Eurosong and he win Dora as back up because one singer give up so iconic
The entire stage performance should perhaps remain that rough and wild, the performer's outfit as well, because to me it completes the whole story of a wild boy from a rural area who leaves his home, leaves his loved ones behind (and a cat too 🙂 ) and anxiously thinks about the adjustment that follows him. Rural meets modern... Wild, unpretentious and honest. It's an A+ for me.
I was suspicious a bit, but now I definitely think that this is potential winner of ESC 2024. The vocals are not the best, but he is selling it, and folkish visuals in the performance and his look give a Croatian charm to it, and therefore authenticity. People will say it is a copy of Kaarija, but I would rather say it is a new Kaarija, just like when Chanel came after Eleni. If Netherlands doesn't come with something equally bombastic Croatia is definitely winning televoting this year. And it is funny that Kaarija won UMK on same day, 25th of February on Saturday. The history book on the shelf is always repeating itself. :)
He is not actually good on stage, both visually and vocally. How can people be so blind and obsessed with something to that extent so they distort the reality in their minds?
Last year I was team Loreen (I would have also been just as happy with a Kaarija win). This year I’m team Baby Lasagna ❤️ I’m also rooting for Raiven, Zorra 🦊, Norway, and Saba with Sand. Love from Canada 🇨🇦
The fact that this song was a stand in for another song that withdrew is insane. Like if it wasn't for that withdrawal this song would not have even been in the selection (they chose 24 mostly mediocre songs over this???). Absolutely televote winner possibilities here. I really like the idea of Croatia going from never qualifying to winning the whole thing.
I so badly wish Marko (Baby Lasagna ) to win because this is true underdog raising to the top, feel good story. 1. They didnt even select him for Dora. Someone pulled out of competition & he was a reserve, so he didn't even expect to compete. Today was a very embarrassing interview where representative of Dora & music critic who shitted on him 2 weeks before, failed to admit their mistake but were still bashing him. Everyone watching this were pist off. Marko on the other hand was brilliant handling their disrespect & still trying to devalue his success. 2. In history of Dora, no one got so many votes & disrepancy between baby lasana & runner up was insane. Public gave him 247 votes & 2nd best got only 27. 3. This is his first competition ever as a singer but he was at e Dora before as a guitarist with another band. None of baby lasagnateam ever had any stage experience like this one before. He only one had idea how it will be due to that guitarist experience. 4. He wrote his song & made it on his own. Doesn't have manager, he did production himself since he doesn't have one ( jokingly he said in one interview.. obviously, that's why it can be better) . 5. His girlfriend is the one who was in charge of the music video. Nothing is done on some professional level, as you would think if you see the video. He told the story how they were going to random vilages, stopping ppl & asking if anyone has a cow & it was hard to find one that had milk. 6. He is so shy, sensitive, modest, total opposite than his stage fearless persona I wish him the best with all my heart ❤ Anyone reading this comment please watch his official video.
I'm thinking top 3! But I would love if Baby Lasagna wins - it is a song about the rural/disadvanged countries of the EU which is a reality. The city boys are so pretty and so advanced (The Big 5) 😞
Yes, Croatia1, Ukraine 2, as they breakaway from the pack. Level two is two steps back. Latvia, Lithuania etc. Holding my breath for the full lineup. Judges in the winds of change, equal access to all. United in and by music.
Embrace Käärijä similarities and go for the best Croatian results ! I don’t understand why some Croatians want to say that this is completely different 😅 just embrace it and get an alliance with Finland for the 12 jury points 😏 the song is fire 🔥
We all know this is not secret ! That all Balkan country’s always voting for each other no matter haw bad the song is ? But this time Croatia have great entry , great song ,very artistic and great performer ! Definitely wining song ! 12 points from 🇵🇱
1 I'm very glad Croatia picked this! It's their best entry since 2016 (I died with your dress shade :D ) 2 Marko is a lovely lad, I enjoy his vibe, I appreciate his suggestion, I want it to do really well and he deserves to collect much love. And I think he will. Winning though? Not totally impossible but quite stretched. 3 Let's keep in mind: It's not guaranteed that we always get a Eurovision performance better than the national finals. There have been exceptions. Mistakes can be made with the staging, misfortune can happen (like illnesses and stuff -touching wood). I love most of this staging concept but let's see how they will decide to elevate it for Malmo. Also Marko is an extremely inexperienced performer. His confidence will grow, he has time to improv his technic, but he's also very exposed to exhaustion or several little mistakes someone more experienced might be wise enough to avoid. Let's see. I defo wish him the best! This is a really enjoyable entry and I want its best version in Malmo. 4 You say that the jury vote will be scattered. But GIRL, the televote will be scattered too. We are already stuffed with televote-hunters. And there's more to come. Marko is coming strong, with the strongest fun song so far, with a proper crowd-charmer narrative as well but we can't ignore how big competition he has to deal with. 5 And we have the Kaarija factor that shouldn't be ignored. Many people wanted Kaarija to win but not everyone. Some Kaarijafans will see Marko as their avenger but some others will see him as some usurper trying to steal the throne Kaarija tried so hard to build. They'll do the comparisons, will find Marko inferior and will get annoyed by the idea of having him taking something that Kaarija deserved so much more. Also the ones who didn't like Kaarija and were annoyed by his super-hype will now feel threatened by this Kaarija-wave. The fact that there are even more jokey crazy party entries filling up the year will make that even worse. So, these people will feel completely fed up by this jokey parade and they will passionately support more conservative and serious suggestions. 6 And here comes France. People are sleeping on France. Slimane is not just a great performer. He is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G , he will trap everyone in awe. He will win the jury vote by a landslide and he'll also seduce enough of the televote to achieve the general victory. The French song is not great, exceptional or very inspired or ground-breaking. But it is a solid smart song. It is simple, recognizable, it will provide that familiarity and comfort the jokeyfedups will need. It is the very right song to showcase Slimane's emotional power and also it's as French as it gets and that's a strong card to play on Eurovisioning. I feel France has the momentum. 7 As we saw with Kaarija (and even others before) Eurovision is not just about winning. Kaarija won a huge success last year and I think that's the success Baby Lasagna must be looking at. He must manage to give us his best and a top5 is guaranteed. So much love is waiting for him, he'll be recorded bright in Eurovision history and he'll have a great opportunity for launching a career. Marko is leaving his mark and he's already a winner.
As a person who loves all three entries mentioned (so Kaarija, Baby Lasagna and Slimane), this is such an interesting look on how eurovision could go for Croatia
Notice the the thing on the drums and on the drummers faces - that's "tabletići", traditional crocheing, every Croatian home has them :D Croatia did win Eurovision when it was a part of Yugoslavia (Riva: Rock me baby). And don't be surprised by the goats on screen - a goat is a symbol of Istria, Croatian region where BL is from.
I agree this can win and it would be amazing to hold the contest in beautiful Croatia in the springtime. I hope Olly Alexander helps split the juries because this is going to run away with the televotes.12 points from the UK. Meow!! 😹
Joy of life . ❤.
I think it's more that they both have been inspired by Rammstein, and you can hear it in their music. Also Marko (Baby Lasagna) said the same thing in an interview when he was asked about Kaarija comparisons.
when you listen to the first couple of minutes, you will understand, both songs start of exactly the same, but cha cha cha was more fresh and the rammstein resemblance was less obvious.
I do wonder if the juries will be more split this year, there were so many talks about a jury shakeup this year as I’ve heard rumours that a lot of jurors don’t fully understand the rating objectives, I.e. letting their personal biases overtake genuine objective opinions. I also hope Käärijä was a bit of a wake-up call to music professionals (potential jurors) that heavy/rock/party songs can and should be taken seriously, as I think jurors have a tendency to immediately write songs off that sound different or out-of-the-box. I think in general this year will be very polarising and there won’t be a clear winner, I think it will be very close between multiple countries, which is VERY exciting.
Song is masterpiece, I think one of the best of all times on eurosong contest ❤ best review/reaction so far 🤟 thumbs up for baby lasagna and your reviews
the kariija revenge effect could also be a thing this year, but I think maybe he should avoid using the green and purple lightning and go for other colors there
He's very obviously self concious. Thats his second performance on a stage. Like ever. He never did it before. He just writes songs. I love it cus the background instrumentals are a like a tehno mix of Istrian folklore. If you listen to some traditional songs you'll se what I mean. I want him to bring in more people so they actually dance Istrian folklore for the majoity of time. He's also singing about an issue we young people have in Croatia. Because of the small wages we have to move away when we don't necesserily want to. So he's talking about him leaving his small farm to look for a better future and he's sad about it. Istrian people like tehno. Like any club you find will just be a tehno club. Its really creativily made! I need the croatian camera director fired. I need someone new to write the camera scenes. I almost didn't notice them dancing the folklore bit. Theres so many details we should see. And they're not providing. Alo our tehnical team for Dora is terrible. But this song is amazing! I love Mama ŠČ but this is also a bit better. Not by what they're saying cus Let3 is literally trolling Putin down to the tshirt they have on of putin when he was small. Like the concept is amazing but Baby Lazanja is more of the younger generations style and creativly its just as strong. His wife/girlfriend created the music video! its really good!
Lip pozdrav.
This brings the contest back at its 00s era when everyone loved this type of entries (they still do), when everyone in my country considered Eurovision to be a cheeky circus, when noone considered it to be a serious song contest...I don't get songs like that. My fave era in the contest was when it got more serious and everyone said it's boring. Well I may be boring, but I'm bummed with that sieben sieben russian grannies type of songs returning. Oh well...Croatia will do GREAT this year, they could indeed win
He´s definitely in it to win it. However, I still worry about the juries. Because we all know what France delivers. After his performance at Dora I feel like he could landslide the juries with 300+ points. So I still feel like this is France´s game so far, but if not France, then definitely Croatia. I´d love to go to Zagreb for Eurovision 2025!
@@AlesiaMichelle he's not a Loreen, but Dami Im landslided as well.. I don't mean such a Loreen landslide. Just him getting 300-320 points. But anyways, let's see:)
We should not forget how high the juries places Marco and Noa tho- the juries are not just into vocals: they want radio friendly too and as much as I listen to Mon Amour- there is nothing modern or radio friendly about it
