This song is bittersweet. With his brothers' passing, Barry is now "alone". He does have an older sister, and of course his wife, kids and nieces, nephews etc. Their last released song "This is Where I Came In" was released in 2001, two years before Maurice died. If you know any of the Bee Gees history, the song/video is a bit biographical. A few to watch "Man in the Middle", Mo sings lead on this one. "Massachusetts" (1967 version) , Robin sings lead. "For whom the bell tolls" There are two videos for this song, I prefer the one with the New York City back ground. I could go on forever. They started singing together in the mid 50s so many many hits, including songs written for others.

I was in high school in the 70's and The BeeGee's had been in my life since the 60's and I love them. As I have gotten older, I have gone back and listened to them and watched their video's and realized how different each of their voices were and how beautifully they were able to bring them together. Their songwriting will never be matched. I was so lucky to have grown up at the time that they were doing their thing and I was loving it. RIP Robing and Maurice. Thank you Barry.

Yes I always adored The Bee Gees, no matter what song! This particular song is so beautiful, talking about being ALONE, may make some people really think about it as they are in that situation. Who knows? Beautiful song xx

I listened to the Bee Gees in the 60s - and I am now in my 60s - but I hadn’t heard this before and it is STUNNING! What beauty. I find it very moving.

Thank you! Oh, yea! The bagpipes are glorious!! Superb song and gorgeous harmonies and loving brothers! I love this song, and like you, I only truly listened to it later -- four-five years ago, I'm ashamed to admit. Robin coming in -- wow! highlight every time! Barry's soft singing soothes my soul. Maurice enriching the harmonies and being his smiling self as his brothers alternate-- I miss them so much!

@Psyche- Thanks for reacting to this great Be gee song. I absolutely love Alone. It's one of my more fav Begee songs that they have ever done. You probably have never heard of it bc it wasn't one of there songs that really stood out but to me was a very underrated song in there great catalogue.
