He now has the same amount of goals as Drogba in his debut season (16) and three more EPL goals (13) than Drogba had in his first season (10). People were very quick to write him off when it’s very clear his first touch, dribbling, hold up play, combination play, pace, running the channels, and tracking back are all excellent. If his finishing really does go to the next level he’s going to end up being a very good player.

Chelsea have been a chaotic and unpredictable team to watch this season. They just beat West Ham 5-0 at home with a convincing performance and one game like the one we saw today they’re playing excellent football they’re clicking and you see how good will be when their project fully clicks, and then the next game they drop points to Burnley and Sheffield United. Their inconsistency and unsustainable performances have meant that for most of the season they’ve been in the bottom half of the table either 10th or 11th and while they still have problems they find themselves in 7th place and to be honest their attack hasn’t been an issue of late. Their problems have come at the back particularly defending keeping clean sheets and holding onto leads. Against West Ham they got the goals and also kept a clean sheet. They’re even ahead of Manchester United in the table on goal difference and they’re probably gonna finish ahead of them. There’s a feeling that they’ll finish either in the top 6 or even 7th place as that’s good enough for them to get European football. Mauricio Pochettino’s job isn’t secure just yet because they’ve been linked with other managers there’s a certain section of Chelsea fans who want Jose Mourinho back at the club for a 3rd stint and this is a possibility don’t rule it out or they can rehire Thomas Tuchel, but all of this depends on their league finish. Under Pochettino despite the problems inconsistency and injuries, they’re growing in confidence with every passing game and while it doesn’t reflect in the league table, he’s done enough to keep his job for another season or 2 even if fans want a better manager than him.

The team looks like it's coming together, having so many inexperienced players means there was always going to be growing pains but one thing people don't seem to be remembering is just how riddled Chelsea have been with injuries all season as well, there's like an entire team worth of ayers injured at just about any given time all season, some of them who would definitely be starting were that not the case, the medical staff definitely needs to be looked into to be honest since the injury record have been terrible for years now

People have been hard on Mauricio Pocchettino. He came in during a real crisis. He bought in a few players and it has taken time for them to form some team chemistry. I think he has done a great job.

Don't underestimate what Galagher could become in couple seasons....I remember when lampard came in 2001 and after staying for 3seasons...he wasn't the lampard we signed from westham...so give Gallagher a time to play at this level..then he will become good

Gallagher is the engine of the team. They shouldn't even entertain ideas about selling that guy. Well, unless if it's him or Palmer then it's a no brainer. Chelsea are 7th despite being so inconsistent, so next season you hope they kick on to the top four. Essien was young when he joined Chelsea and unproven in the Premier League... Drogba was unproven in the Premier League and Champions League. Pochettino dropped the ball in about 10 league games and the League Cup final and I'm 50/50 on whether this Chelsea squad needs him to progress.
