River's comment about the day the Doctor won't know who she his is absolutely a reference to Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead, not that she knows it yet. The first time the Doctor ever met her was the last time she ever met him. River was speaking about how painful of an experience that meeting would inevitably be for her with the "I think it's going to kill me" line, and she has no idea of just how true that statement will prove to be.

His Wikipedia article says he's one of the few actors to appear in both Doctor Who and Star Trek, and I can think of another one, the late great David Warner (DW: "Cold War", STV: The Final Fronteir, STVI: The Undiscovered Country.) A shame for an American dyed-in-the-wool Trekkie to admit it, but I like Doctor Who maybe even more than Star Trek. One reason might be that Star Trek tries to dress up in technobabble that supposedly should mean something, and is delivered in a deadpan way, while Doctor Who either presents valid science (I know Star Trek can do this too), or otherwise gives the most bonkers and ridiculous explanation that the writers could come up with, reality be damned. Or maybe it's just because I'm an obsessed Anglophile. Anyway, if the crew of the USS Enterprise met the crew of the TARDIS, I bet they'd be instant fast friends.

I love that this was Mark Sheppards first role with the BBC and he has to put on an American accent. Whereas with his American roles allow him to speak more naturally.

The "When I was a little girl" bit in the intro was inserted for the US broadcast and unfortunately also appears in the version of the Series 6 episodes on streaming services (apart from the BBC's own iPlayer).

Doctor who was still gaining so much American audience build when s6 started that (since it wasn’t as natural a stepping on place as season 5 had been) they added the intro blurb for those new eyeballs. Its unique to this season and had everything to do with the BBC trying to figure out how to deal with this explosion of fandom. Notice the cast is suddenly in America and the budget keeps growing. The doctor has finally escaped London.

Way back in 2013 the Doctor Who Proms came to Australia. (Orchestral performance of Doctor Who songs, including things like Cybermen stomping around the auditorium etc). "My" Doctor, Peter Davison came over from England to host the Proms, which was very exciting for me - Except, when they came to Melbourne, at least for the session that I attended, Peter wasn't the host - it was Mark Sheppard. So, it was bittersweet, because like you Britany, I was a big Supernatural fan - thus having Crowley on stage presenting Doctor Who music was pretty surreal, though I wish I'd been able to see Peter. (Incidentally... Speaking of Supernatural - back in 2012 I also made a video on my RU-vid channel suggesting that Julian Richings - Death - should play the 12th Doctor. His first appearance in that pizza parlour sent chills down my back, and all I could think of was - He would make an amazing Doctor! My video reached 240k views, but sadly most people were unhappy with the idea, saying the Doctor only gets younger, not older. Silly kids... the Doctor has appeared all kinds of ages in their life.)

The Doctor’s death was shocking, and the Silence brought an eerie vibe. young girl in the astronaut suit kept me on edge. So many questions were left unanswered, making it thrilling from start to finish.

That "when I was a little girl…" bit before the music was something they added to the American release of Doctor Who. We didn't get it in the UK. I don't know why they thought Americans needed it explaining every episode.

From the first season of Doctor Who, when I started following you, it was clear you were a Supernatural fan and though I never have watched it, a daughter of mine has and pointed me out why she knew him and so I knew this would be something that would thrill you, but your face at 9:03 was the cherry on top of the cake. I find it interesting that the Doctor thinks Cape Kennedy is the only place in the US to have an intersection with streets named after presidents. I've been to at least two places in New York State that have a bunch of streets named for presidents. In one of them, the town center is near the intersection of Washington and Jefferson, and I stayed near the corner of Clinton and Bush. (Probably named for Papa rather than Dubya.) Otherwise, this story is just chock full of wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey stuff. The timeline curls back in on itself; time is (to paraphrase _Hitchhiker's Guide)_ not just warped but in fact completely bent. And while it's fun to watch, and enjoyable to rewatch with your help (thank you, Britany!), I personally don't like the story arc.

If you type "Christmas special" into the search box and keep scrolling down, you should be able to find it. I am not sure why it does not work when doing the same for "Time of the Doctor." Patreon is a bit weird when it comes to searching sometimes.

I love the street names part, fhr astronaut and what happens, ird a wild 2 episodes but such a good series this one and fhe 2 halves they did was interesting for sure. Mark I went ah Eureka 1940s, haven't seen Supernatural yet. River has great moments this series. Ah the letters the Doctor hating himself but trusting his younger self. XD Yeah they throw words around for sure. Her feeling a certain way randomly because the Silence. The phone photo and remembering.

Oh yreah, the opening narration in the intro. Really weird that DW picked up the practice the same year as Power Rangers. Except Doctor Who didn't stick with it if you know anything about Amy's tenure. Power Rangers didn't drop it for years

I'm just going to be warn you that this season is very polarising amongst fans of the show. Most I believe love it, myself included, but there's still quite a few who don't. But I expect your probably already used to that from previous seasons, characters and episodes.
