Hybe planned a girl group for a Sailor Moon inspired magical girl concept since 2021. Their webtoon is Summer Moon and on their page on X it says: "One summer night, something magical will happen" This is the magical girl concept and we have seen a middle school in their brand trailer and a urban environment in Lucky Girl Syndrome MV with five ordinary teens. When Belift release details for Summer Moon is when discussions and comparisons with NewJeans will end from non-Bunnies. They will be quiet and disappear when the magical girl concept will be determined by the lore. They will establish their own identity as a group just like BTS, TXT and Enhypen has done with their lore. This debut is a appetizer and not the end of the world.

I feel like the ouija board is really just leaning into like mysticism and divination, I don’t think it has a huge meaning just lends itself to the theme. We also see Moka with a voodoo doll of the boy she bumps into at the carnival because they make it clear they have the same shoes when the dolls shoe falls off. I feel like they’re just trying to bring an element of magic to the theme of make and manifest your own luck. IVE did something similar in the song baddie but the witch theme was much stronger. Magnetic also had a theme of like casting a spell that’s super attractive to your crush when reading the lyrics.

ILLIT I'm really looking forward to seeing how the group is gonna evolve as performers and vocalists who knows what they wanna do with their music as they get older
