Let me try to give you the full context atounf this performance: Ok I will try to give the full context: • Johnny : the most admired singer in France from early 60s to 2017 when he died. He is the Elvis of France, sold more than 110M records WW. A real power house, could outposer anybody (maybe not Lara ?), here the mics were balanced to favor Lara as he wanted her to shine. • The song: this is an anthem song for him, that he used to sing alone. This was turned into a duet for Lara. The story of the song was created in reference to a very famous old french classic movie: Le Jour se Leve (1939) where the main character is barricaded and surrounded by the police ( and the dogs 😀), having killed his girlfriend. Here this is turned into a kind of Bonnie and Clyde’s challenge to the policemen • The venue/event: Johnny’s concert in Stade de France ( biggest stadium in Paris and France) in front of 80,000. Lara was the surprise special guest. They did perform this 3 times in a row. That night, the scene was outside and it was raining, which just added some dramatic effect to the whole performance. • Lara: she was at the beginning of her career in France and this performance became legendary in french-speaking world and accelerated her fame there.
