I just happened upon this one, months after the fact 🙂 💃 👸 Who knew this could be sung as a beautiful ballad? Kelly never fails to surprise me! Thanks for sharing this one❣️
I was waiting for this! This is like my 5th time listening to her cover and I still get chills and tear up. She’s just such a gifted vocalist and emoter. Someone on another video said that she’s a vessel, she becomes the song, and I totally agree! As always loved your reaction and commentary! Keep them coming! ❤️
It’s soo goood! 😍 That dynamic build-up was incredible and so seamless, I loved every second of this performance and had to listen a few more times after filming. And that’s a good way to put it - her being a vessel. She always delivers so hard on these kellyokes and she always makes the lyrics pop 🙌. I really appreciate you being here ❤️ You’re always so kind! Thank you.
I've been literally obsessed with Kelly recently. I can't stop listening to her songs and covers! It's absurd how amazing she is. I wonder why we don't hear her more on the radio... And watching your videos and Jenn Glatzhoffer's, I pretend to know something about singing and try to appreciate these little 'details' more. Xoxo from Brazil.
I couldn't wait to see this reaction! This was one of the coolest covers she has ever done! Even ABBA liked it and invited her to come sing it with them on their new tour!
Oh my go.. Goosebumps. What a beautiful arrangement. The way she kept the essence of the track, slowed it down and used minors (I think haha) to tug at those heart strings. Truly awesome, She's amazing
.. Also I mentioned Sebastian Bach a few weeks ago. Well he left skid Row some 20 years ago (he went on to Broadway etc). But his most recent replacement is Erik Gronwall. Wow.. What a voice on the song 18 and life. I'd love a react on that song if you have chance please. :)
It's so good!! :) And yes, I remember. I have a lot on that list atm thanks to wonderful people like yourself who recommend stuff for me to watch and react to, so I haven't gotten to it yet. I hope to soon :) both of them. Thank you so much for watching, and for the recommendation!
For sure this is very especial for you. Kelly singing like when you telling your teenager daughter... enjoy your moment. Even ABBA reaction was good. That is the Kelly Touch. Thank you
Wow, Kelly sure surprised us with this rendition. I thought she was going to make us get up our feet and dance. 😀 But hey, it's ok to change it up a bit and I really love this rendition of this classic disco song. Anything Kelly does, makes it sound awesome! 💃💃💃
Yeah, me too! But I got this feeling of nostalgia instead, as if she was looking back on a younger version of herself (not necessarily Kelly personally, but as in a character who "narrates" the story in the song) . And those BELTS
A perfect vessel for a lyric. This was gorgeous. Warm, light and so grounded and full sounding. Whatever end of her range she is in it never thins. Jason her musical director can play that piano too. Those kind of music box sounding moments..man almost pulled a tear out. They have been together soo long they are like one mind two artist. She trust him and he her. Brilliant I know you wont (vh1) a fav. Almost Doesnt Count (Brandy) is a vibe too. Ty and yesss! Her Mic is On!
Well said! And thank you for the recommendations ☺️ Also, I didn’t know her musical director/pianist’s name. That’s great to be working with someone for that long and have that trust. Thank you so much for watching! I always appreciate your informative and supportive comments ☺️
Ofc :) And yes, I love how she gave it a nostalgic feel, as if the character/narrator of the story in the lyrics is looking back at being that 17 year old dancing queen :) Thank you so much for watching!
I have never heard this take on this song and I can’t believe this has not been done. It’s absolutely beautiful and gave me chills. She’s amazing, I watch her show everyday and love her kellyoke. This is top 10 covers. If you are still looking for the chair dancing song to react to, you’ll have to check out the performance from the show The Voice when the coaches perform. It’s Kelly, Ariana, John and Blake singing a mashup of Hold on, I’m coming and Respect. It’s electrifying!!
Interesting version of Dancing Queen! Interesting as in good! Never really expected to hear it like that. She was great. There are some other ABBA songs I’d like her to sing, maybe in the future! Loved your reaction, especially since where you are from! Thank you so much again for giving this woman the love she deserves! I hope you get love too! 💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼
Hege , Do you have any recorded music for purchase or for download? I am new to your channel and I am just loving your voice on the covers you do. Really would like some to put on my phone and play when I am out and about driving around
This is one of my favorite covers. It was so emotional. It reminded me of her singing about someone she once knew that maybe has passed and remembering them
I’m so happy to hear (well, read) that ☺️ Thank you so much. And I want to! It just popped up in my recommended section, and I saved it to «watch later» ✨ Can’t wait to hear it.
You might want to comment this on the actual performance, as it's directed at them? Not that they'll see it there, but they for sure won't see it here :) But thanks for watching my video :)
So true! Good point. I watch these late at night, lol. I learn a lot from your comments , I’m just a lover of good quality music. I love your positivity:)
@@jskygirl aw I appreciate that :) thank you! Kelly is amazing, and I hope she or Jason sees your comments some day. Keep spreading the love and positivity!
Do you mean that she skipped a large number of bars? Cause octaves refer to herz/pitch and singers don’t have a *large* number of them 😊. While bars refer to “time segments” so to speak. And it was shorter, yes 😊 She always does that for her Kellyokes, and I liked the way she did it for Jolene where she kept the whole story but still in that short format.
@@hansandresen4392 still not sure I get what you mean, sorry. It’s in the same key as ABBA’s original version, and I don’t recall them octaving the melody.
@@hansandresen4392 My guess is she felt she didn't need to use it here. Kelly's range is roughly 3 and a half octaves, which should be comparable to Agnetha's. Kelly is a lot more measured these days in how she uses her range.
Wow? Not sure what you're talking about. I think it's awful. Strained. Bland. Sorry, the original was infinitely superior. As an ABBA fan from the beginning, the way these beautiful songs are being messed with by cover singers and remixer's pains me.
The same way you’re entitled to your opinion, I am entitled to mine. I liked it, so that’s «what I’m talking about». And that doesn’t take anything away from ABBA, I’m not even comparing the versions, you are.
Great singing n belting as expected, but im not liking this slow arrangement, not for this song. The song is dancing queen!!! not a slow dancing queen…. Some great singing here nonetheless
I see what you're saying, it can feel a bit clashy with the lyrics. But I felt/interpreted it as if she's looking back on being that dancing queen when she was younger, like there's nostalgia there, if that makes sense. So I still thought it was interesting :) No idea if that was the thought behind it though. And absolutely some great singing! That dynamic build up to those belts was glorious.
