thank you for this reaction. your viewpoint about hip hop and life in general is always interesting to hear. i understand the apprehensive nature that most older people have when aproaching new music but i always try to explain the context behind our generational struggles and means of comunicating that. if you read 60K's comments you'll see a lot of poor people working in terrible conditions saying that the motivational attitude of the lyrics was just what they needed to keep going or change their lives to a better direction. i was very happy seeing this on my feed as Major RD (and Xamã) lived on my area RJ Zona Oeste (Rio de Janeiro West Zone) and in various tracks they make references to known local landmarks (in this track he makes a direct reference to VK or Vila Kennedy, a local favela for example) and talk about struggles that hit close to home, maybe 'cause they came from home. i recommend listening to Luna from Major as it is a much more introspective and thoughtful track featuring Sant, one of the best lyricist and downright poets of the carioca scene. ps: the reason he's on a horse in this music video is 'cause he really likes horses. i think he has like 4.
