ZZB is THE ONE song of theirs that I have to be 'in the mood' to hear. I sometimes 'like' it, I sometimes hate it, I sometimes LOVE it. All of the rest of their songs get regular rotation on shuffle, no question.

What do you mean gatekeeping? Like them or not, but SM has consistently hired amazing producers and songwriters for Red Velvet. If they hadn't, RV wouldn't have the brilliant discography they do

They give them good songs bcos they are the only gg in the company that can do the songs justice. But they don’t promote them well, or their chances for exposure to the west is minimal . If more promotion chances were given to them like to the other gg, they would definitely be much more popular

Not pertaining to their producers, I am aware about them having good producers from the west but it was about being promoted there. If you have been following them since debut you would know.

Agreed. 👍🏻 and personally I have never actively followed k-pop, but once I heard Red Velvet, I naturally wanted to buy albums. I live in Denmark, and I've never had any problems buying their albums. Record shops are practically non existent, but I've ordered like 5 albums from Danish online shops

@@Hgoenge81 lmao do you they wanted to be mismanaged like that? they've been complaining about how messed up things are and joy literally said that they don't know how this promotion works and when they found out that other groups under sm were treated differently in term of promotional she said she didn't know it was supposed to be like that and thought that what they experienced is normal, meaning sm madebth think that it is normal, sm even brainwashed them into thinkingvthat they don't have fans outside south korea. If that doesn't loom like mistreatment and mismanagement to you then idk. And signing in a US label doesn't equate to leaving sm entertainment u know, and if you've been to their concert outside sokor you'll seebthat they love performing overseas

@@haniyaya1026 im not saying SM couldn't have managed them better. I haven't read Joy's "complaint", and haven't heard anything negative from other members. And they don't live in North Korea. They have an online presence, so it's not like they are brainwashed into thinking they don't have any overseas fans. How else would there be any sales overseas? I get they were surprised by how many fans there is. But that's a good surprise, no? I'm also saying that they all have idol friends from other companies, and they don't seem to have any gag order. There is a difference between Joy saying they didn't know how the promotion would go and Joy actually complaining about anything. Sounds more like a factual statement. But what I find annoying is everyone and all ALWAYS flooding every comments section with SM hate, no matter what the video is about. Facts are that SM has ALWAYS hired amazing producers and songwriters for Red Velvet. If they hadn't, and hadn't given them the amazing songs they have, none of us would be here. Also Seulgi had major influence on her solo, Irene and Seulgi was brilliant, Wendy also made the solo she wanted. Plus all the different collabs they could have said no to. I'm not saying SM hasn't made several mistakes, and not managed them optimally. What I am saying is the fans hate towards the company doesn't match the members love for it. There is always room for improvement of course, but I hust don't see Red Velvet as being horribly mistreated for going on ten years. But whatever. The new album truly slaps, Killing Voice was beyond amazing and the girls all looked so happy. That's all that's really important
