And also there were a lot of bands who didn't want to put them on their tours back in their early days simply because they drained the crowd and no body wanted to follow them!! That's one really bid reason why they got so big was cause their live shows were so insane!!

When they first started out bands stopped asking for them to open, people would leave after Slipknot was done.

In Slipknots very early shows they used to walk through the crowd, onto the stage and play the show, then walk off stage change and stand in the crowd after and ask for feedback.

I see alot of people trying to compare their latest releases to their album Iowa. This is heavy in a different way. This is more refined heavy. Comes with age, I suppose. I honestly prefer this Slipknot over the Slipknot I started listening to 20 years ago.

Are you by chance aware of a little band called Alien Weaponry? Because if you aren't, they're worth checking out. They're a three-piece trash/groove metal band from New Zealand who largely sing in Te Reo*, the traditional language of the Māori people. Which is a pretty fresh take on metal, or music in general really. The vast majority of bands anywhere sing in English these days, for broadest appeal. Alien Weaponry though, despite being from a country where the main language actually is English, as I said mostly sing in a language that has basically been slowly dying ever since New Zealand was colonized and which today is only spoken by an estimated 150,000 people. All the same, they're making some serious waves in the metal scene. They're signed with Napalm Records, to begin with. They've performed at major European festivals (including Wacken Open Air). They've done a US tour as a supporting act for Ministry. They're currently on another world tour. Not small accomplishments to boast when the band members are young enough that they got barred from performing with Ministry for their Salt Lake City gig for being under the legal age requirement for the venue. And to have at least one age restricted music video here on RU-vid ("Holding My Breath") that two members of the band are officially too young to watch. Oh, I didn't mention that yet, did I? The guitarist/main vocalist and bass guitarist are (to the best of my knowledge) 17 years old at the moment, while the drummer is 19. Their song "Kai Tangata" would be a good place to start. Awesome video too. *English translations are available for several of their videos by just hitting the closed caption button. Though, oddly enough, _not_ for "Kai Tangata", even though it's by far their most popular song. Ah well, you don't need to understand the lyrics to feel the music anyway.
