VoicePlay’s slightly upbeat version is fun-creepy. Bass Gang’s is more creepy-fun. Part of that is the visuals and part is the song’s tempo. The editing fits the theming of the song a bit more directly than VoicePlay’s”Haunted Mansion.” I guess it comes down to this: do you want a smile with your chills or chills with your smile?
You should recognize Lauren Paley; she was also in VoicePlay's version of this song. FYI: Opera singer Elizabeth Zharoff (The Charismatic Voice) did the voices of the ghosts near the end of VoicePlay's version.
I keep thinking of the movie The Shining when I watch this. Since the story was based on the allegedly haunted Stanley Hotel, and my sister and I both had a super unnerving and creepy experience that was somewhat connected to the hotel, this brings back some stuff. Brrr! Great reaction, Ashley!
Hi Ashley, hi Alex. I did like that version but I like the Haunted Mansion themed version better. The poster on the wall over your right shoulder looks like it's from the movie "Return Of The Living Dead". When I saw it I immediately hear "BRAINS!" in the voice of the zombie from the barrel.
I prefer TBG over VP, VP leaned too heavily into the voice acting to make it something I'd listen to as music, although it was a fun video... but yeah it's pretty much apples to oranges and I prefer apples *shrug*
@ Jade Self Improvement Nah i am with you both, voice play lean too much on the acting and characters, not to say they aren't technically good but the skill and the technical quality from TBG and lauren... hits much better than the musical comedy effect of voiceplay
