This song is what got me to love The midnight, and i've never looked back since. Synthwave is for the people who can touch the fibers of their emotions.

There is something to be said about the facial expressions one makes when truly alone with the midnight--you are constantly riding the line of breaking into tears as you gaze softly at the wall wondering when things will change

I was introduced to the Midnight through this song. It was the video that had the Breakfast Club....listening to this song, watching scenes from TBC just took me back. I was hooked on the band. The thing about this song was it kinda took me back to when we thought we'd live forever and never get old...I'm 49 now, I remember when I thought 49 was "old". We were ten feet tall and bulletproof (forever in full bloom), we did crazy things, we stayed up all night, the mall was our home every weekend, we were falling in and out of love...and the only thing that mattered was our friends. The things we thought were problems back then just seem so trivial now. We were chasing dreams and the world was so big... "We'll know better when we're older..." Sometimes...sometimes I wish we didn't know better.

“Everything is clear in the rear view mirror” That opening line embodies the title. This song is pure poetry and emotion. The lyrics are a masterpiece that depicts memories

There are no words that can describe the Sythwave, it is simply a genre straight out of the 2080s is a year that we are not about to see. I love you brother. I watch you and the look on your face, with tears in both of our eyes, I’m there with you. My wife and I were together for 14 years and one day I was alone. The midnight is the band that helped me deal with a lot of the unresolved emotions that I was dealing with. In a way the midnight helped me get a sense of closure. But now, 2 years later I discovered you and as I watch you being transported back to the moment you wish would have been different, I am sitting here and reliving the same moments wishing I could have done something different or maybe if I were never even born. Love how you keep on increasing the production work on your vids. This is 100% my favorite song by the Midnight. I drove down almost the entirety of CA route 1 a few months back, top down with the sun setting over the ocean and my 6 year old son riding shotgun. We blasted this tune on repeat, both of us singing along. Really just an incredible song.

Every time I hear this, I'm transported back to college, where I was revising for my final semester. Opened RU-vid, plugged in my headphones, listened to some music and was introduced to a track called "The Midnight - Memories'. Clicked and the rest is History. First time hearing synthwave, or new retro wave. Can't live without it now. The part where you described it as a track to say goodbye resonates with me. That was what I felt as I heard its tunes and as I glaced ard the school library, realising that that part of my life was coming to an end. It's only been 3 years but college life felt like a lifetime ago. It's nice to revisit that memory.

There’s few songs this powerful in my opinion. This can put me back in time.

I was born in 1979 and lucky to have grown up in the 80's I still live and feel those days man! Sythwave brings back all those memories! God, taken me a month to find the courage to watch this one, man. This for me is one of those songs that I can't just put on, I have to be in a very specific mindset or I'll be thrown off kilter for the rest of the day. Seeing your reaction is kind of comforting, to see someone else's catharsis and know that it's the same kind of pain/healing that you're going through. I dunno, it's very Mercer from Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep. Listening to this makes me think about my past, about the people no longer in my life whether they're exes, people who have passed away or simply moved on to a life that I am no longer a part of. That comes with its own sting. But more than that, I think about how these days I'm living now with my friends, family and significant others will too one day become distant memories. That's more than a sting, that's a sword to the heart.

I love The Midnight! This song, every time I listen to it, I'm taken back to a time I truly found love. We met through the internet and we'd video chat every day all day, and most nights we'd stay up til the sun came up. My face would hurt so bad because I couldn't stop smiling with her. We'd talk about literally everything but mostly music. She would dance and I'd watch her and just be taken away. The way she moved was majestic, her smile, her hair swaying side to side and her hands moving around as she danced. We dated for nearly a year and then we had a falling out and separated. I tried to move on months later with someone else but just couldn't click. I missed the one I truly gave my heart to and will forever be in love with her. I recently wrote to her and found out she is with someone now and happy, but she even admitted she's still in love with me and the memories we shared will forever go on and live with her. She missed who we were and all the experiences we had together. My heart aches that someone else has her now...it truly hurts but I also am to blame for trying to move on from her instead of being honest with her and telling her I still loved her after our fallout. There will never be another woman for me like her. I will hold on to her in my heart til time stops and the stars fade. Forever and ever my love I will love you, Beatriz. Til time permits us again...
