Eurovision should not be always serious . There is a lot of fun in Eurovision, especially in 2024. Look at Käärijä for example. It's fun, its crazy its party. I love them because they are first of all original, they have quality song, original unique instruments that weren't seen in Eurovision and that's what also should be appericated - their originality and the style. They also have iconic choreography and they are very competitive for Eurovision. Also to mention how many people love the song, both Estonians and international. They should go to Eurovision.
I kinda think that is misinterpreted what is quality and what is not and putting words like fun and guilty pleasure satisfy things. Thats accumulative issue which still drags Eurovision down to being a littlebig obscure. And when you have producers who only look in perspective from Eurovision to another, this show will still stay in the circle. Especially after they voted for no jury finals. I will give you football analogy. It is fun to watch an exhibition match with all those tricks, epic goals.. but no one takes that seriously. Premier league or champions league are also full of skill, but also pace and professionalism. And guess what - its the ultimate fun. And this is my dream for Eurovision, to be a Champions league or World Cup / European cup of music. And Kaarija was part lf the second group, he brought quality on all levels and also fun. Issue is you cannot see the difference.
Very fair point of view, agree with everything though I'm originally from Estonia and asked my mom to vote for them. Because this year it was the best choice and I can see everyone smiling if not dancing to this which is really great!
Hi, I'm from 🇪🇪, and I like that we sent this entry this year. Instead of boring non-memorable entries (and artists with zero-personality) we usually send. I like that it is different. It stands out. And look, for a bunch of guys who, lets be honest, can't really sing, or dance 😅 they did pretty well. This song was no.1 streamed song for two months prior to Eesti Laul.
Well, this is not ONLY fun act. That too, but there is more. Good song, exciting sound, internationally experienced singers. There are 2 famous band mixed together - "5miinust" (4 younger guys) well known Estonian hiphoppers and "puuluup" - 2 older guys who are actually music teacher and ethnologist folk band; the old looking instruments and dances are both from centuries old traditional instruments and dances revived - and mixed with relatively new rap. Yes - that may look like weird joke, but the essence of that song is quite serious. It may take some time to see that through.
I love this. It has character and Estonians are proud of it (60% of public vote) Bad guilty pleasure song would be Bejba or the absolute horror that was Tik Tok from Albina. Croatia is sending Rim Tim Tagi Dim that also won the public vote in a landslide. Our producers and music experts weren't even considering it for the final cut but the folks loved it. Our producers kept sending absolute horrendous somgs for years! Before Mama ŠČ the last good song was Marija Magdalena from 1999. After that the songs were so bad the interest in Dora and Eurovision especially plummeted. No one cared. It was ridiculed. And then we sent Let3 and were proud to do so! Many, many people tuned in to watch Eurovision last year and are soooo excited to watch it this year. p.s. the disco moment in Europapa is supposed to represent Gabber, a quintessential Dutch thing. the song is anti-drugs thoughs with a good message - don't judge a book by its cover. Meaning just because someone is poor does not mean they do drugs.
