Maggie and many kpop fans already know this, but for those who don't know, auditioning for a major agency like JYP is different from auditioning for a regular broadcaster. The general broadcast audition selects people who are good at it, but the agency audition is different in that it selects people who are suitable for the team that JYP wants to make. Of course, everyone must have some talent for dancing and singing, but if each person has their own unique charm, such as main dancer, main singer, rapper, high pitcher, visual member, and a person suitable for a leader, Jyp can complete the pendant. Of course, Jyp values personality as well, so if a member could harm the team, she might be eliminated. Maybe this isn't a game of who survives, but I guess hm.. 'what kind of team does Jyp want to make?' maybe it's a game
The “everyone can win” thing is something I really appreciated from the Nizi Project, especially in contrast to Sixteen, where their pendant ceremony has the upward-moving contestant standing face to face with the downward-moving contestant, with one girl directly and literally-with her own hands-taking another girl’s pendant/place as rankings are shifted up/down. In this structure, however, a person is only truly competing against oneself, not against another person, so it makes no sense to try to make anyone else seem “lesser.” I guarantee that this encouragement of helping each other out is a soft test to see who has leadership/mentorship skills, factoring into the Character evaluation.
I really appreciate that as well!! I much prefer the team working together instead of tearing each other apart. And that way there aren’t any bad feelings when they have to form a group in the end. Agreed, it definitely gives them a chance to show their character and leadership.
I really enjoyed your reaction so I hope you'll react to the Nizi Project S1 (fully aired) & S2 (1st ep out last week). It's basically the same format as this survival show but mainly for Japan market & 1 is for a girl group (S1), another is for boygroup (S2). It'd be interesting to compare the contestants from different cultures. It's a fun show you can keep up with while waiting for another episode of A2K to come out bcs honestly, 20 minutes is not enough. :') I just watched the S2 last week, & the contestants seems more well prepared (probably bcs they're more used to the format as they've studied from the previous season & they're aware of how the kpop/jpop environment work since they're related). The participants have such good personality & passionate too!
It overlooks the fact that a relatively unnoticed girl is a key figure in the group. Yes, the ugly duckling is a common cliche. I hope she shows her talent in the singing evaluation. Surely she has a strong will to succeed. Looking at her eyes, she seems to have pride and passion inside.. I can feel the belief in her that she can do anything if she tries.
I was reading comments about this show and now i have the doubt if we really will gonna see the final group debuted doing the same work as a regular kpop group
Since there are Koreans in the comments section here, I’d like to ask you all something: I’ve notice when JYP gestures for the contestants to approach his desk, for the female contestants, he always gestures with his palm facing downward, and for the male contestants (Nizi Project season 2), he always does so with his palm facing upward. Is this something with a gendered protocol in the Korean culture?
Speaking of Latin members and communicating with Latino fans, I feel like that whole Spanish-speaking element of NMIXX dropped off after their first two promotions. It seemed like the direct catering to that audience was received quite well, so I wonder why it’s no longer being pushed anymore.
Ahh I hadn’t known that about NMIXX. But it does seem odd that it’s not being used as much... I feel like, since they want this new group to gain success in America and Spanish is so widely spoken, plus there are a ton of latam Kpop fans, focusing on communication with Spanish speaking fans would be smart.
Well some are vocals not dancers so.... yeah it's if they work hard on it for a month ( another reason there's monthly evaluation in companies ) they at least improved since last month . It will be the same at korea monthly we get episodes ( we get it weekly ) 😅 . It is like we joined in on the monthly evaluation . Some get kicked or some don't make it 😅
They’re definitely going to have to work very hard to keep improving every week! I do know about evaluations when they train in Korea. We’ll just have to wait and see who makes it to debut!
Hiii ! Just watching the series along with you !Just want it to tell you that I love ❤ all your reactions .Your voice is so calm and sweet and I am really learning a lot with you . Btw Amazing job with the wall and the decorations .LOVE IT !! Now I will continue to watch this episode byeeee !!
Hello!!! Thank you for watching with me!! 😆 Oh my gosh, thank you so much!!! That is so kind of you to say!!! 🥹❤️ Haha thank you, I’ve been very excited about the wall!
How about guessing final debut member numbers after Seoul Training session who already came Jan or Feb this year to Seoul .I mean Number of whom are scheduled to Debut in US market Dec 2023 or Jan 2024. My Guts are 5 ( Leader + Rapper + Main Dancer + Main Vocal + All Rounder)
Ok, so just watched Camila, she has definitely imoroved, but does need to start looking at the characterisation in her face. But shebis so much better and that was def her song. She pucked a good one for that
Oh wow! They were really good, and even Camila made a massive difference. I cannot wait for the next one! I LOVED Lexi's God's Menu, she was so good. Sharp clean, and definitely a different side to her. Looking forward to Saturday!!
Camila definitely improved! And I agree, it was a good song choice for her. She still has some growing to do but I think she’ll do well! Ahhh okay, I might have missed that. Her God’s Menu cover was crazy good!!! I was so impressed!!! I’m excited for the next one too!!
not sure why he started calling Lexus "Lexi", or "Lexy" but I know this girl named Alexis and she likes to go by Lexy, but I think the original and all variations sound really good
