So Hyang is a devout Christian and gospel singer from South Korea. However, she can sing any genre of music. In her early 20's and newly married, she was diagnosed with early stage uterine cancer, which left her unable to have children. After being completely healed by God and her doctors, So Hyang's goal has been to use her voice to bring comfort to people who are experiencing difficult times. She IS NOT motivated by either money or fame. She has rejected numerous offers from major record labels. In addition to being a published author of several fiction books, she lectures about singing and vocal techniques at a South Korea university. So Hyang, her husband, and some assistants, arrange every aspect of her live performances; the music, the backing vocals, staging, lighting, etc.
@FamilyKim0831 She remains humble. During her cancer surgery, she received contaminated blood from a transfusion. This resulted in So Hyang developing Hepatitis B or C. She has a compromised immune system and has battled severe pneumonia eight times between 2016 - 2020. There are several performances on RU-vid where she performed while not fully recovered against doctors' orders. Because her technique is rock solid, she gave a master class performance each time.
You have just witnessed a small sample of the flexibility in the voice of the PHENOMENAL So Hyang. At the beginning of her career in 1996, some people dubbed her the "Korean Mariah Carey." Trust and believe that comparison ceased to exist two decades ago. As great as she is, living legend, Mariah Carey, in her prime, and on her best day, did not possess the vocal stamina or breath control of So Hyang. This event was in 2015, when So Hyang was 37 years old. She is now 46 years old. Not only is she aging in reverse, but she sounds better than ever, if that's even possible. Her vocal range is still RIDICULOUS, and her breath control remains INSANE.
@@OnohaMingdong-LifeInOsaka My pleasure. 😀 Reacting to So Hyang will be one of your best investments in time. Even when she sings in Korean, it is not necessary to understand the lyrics. So Hyang is brilliant at conveying the meaning/message of a song. New subscriber. 😀
