The great thing about Geoff Castellucci is he can hit "the shiver note" so effortlessly it just leaves you stunned. To anyone who isn't familiar with Geoff Castellucci the shiver note is a sub harmonic note that's so low it physically sends shivers up your spine.

There was absolutely no chance that Geoff doing this song was going to be anything less than phenomenal. I still like the version by Peter Hollins and Tim Faust as well. It's a song that basically demands a low bass singer to do regardless of what other singers you have joining in.

Doing the standard bass singing parts of this are easy for a normal bass singer... then you have Geoff doing his insanity, lol. Even a skilled baritone can cover most of this -- Geoff is actually hanging out in the lower baritone register for the majority of this (other than his tenor harmony lines)... then he decides to drop into contrabass.

Yes! And as far as I'm concerned he's the only singer who truly does do it justice. There are other good versions of this, but Geoff's is, quite simply, the way this song was always meant to sound. Nobody else has hit that level.

What a great rendition! His voice is so perfect for this and the arrangement and his harmonies with himself with the instruments adding just a touch of the ancient Gaelic atmosphere. PS: Note Geoff retasked the costumes from My Mother Told Me. Look closely and figure which Geoff is wearing other VoicePlay's outfits. PPS - Who else thinks that it's Layne Stein on that violin?

It *is* beautiful, isn't it. Always more detail in the video than I expect. Always better harmonies than I could ever imagine. Only an expert can make things look easy the way Mr. Castellucci does. :) You crack me up. Someday, you need to go visit a large pipe organ and stand next to the pipes when they play the low notes. It makes you vibrate inside.

Geoff is a rare talent. His range is just sick. His G1 low notes are the bomb and he uses different techniques - chest, harmonic, growl etc. There are lots of great bass singers but Geoff is the king in my book.

I really love how he replays the same clip over and over as he has a few seizures from the incredibly low notes which also BLEW MY MIND SO MUCH!! Yet it was so funny to watch and I enjoyed this reaction a lot!! XD PS: I saw a YT Shorts of this reaction and I wanted to find this video so I spent over 2 hours searching and using ur thumbnails and the artists by using the comments of that short JUST to find this one reaction which I ended up loving and was definitely invested in!!
