Yes, E.J. is one of the tenors in Voctave, and his brother Omar has performed with VoicePlay on Superstition and Carry On Wayward Son 🙂 Geoff did this arrangement, and he did an incredible job on it 😊 Maybe this will help, maybe not, but, you know who Geoff is, so on to the others. Top left, Eli (pronounced Ellie) - tenor, top right, J None - baritone, bottom right, Layne - beatboxer/baritone 🙂
I think you mean that when the harmonies are perfect and the voices are blended just so it doesn't just add color, it becomes Technicolor! That's what you get with good a cappella and especially what you get from VoicePlay.
That ending is a throwback to classic barbershop arranging. They call it a tag, it's one voice hanging out, usually the lead or the tenor, with all the other parts moving around until it resolves.
Talented brothers, EJ and Omar Cardona. Interesting and nice to see that both of them work well with my favorite group. You really have to like true professionals. It isn’t uncommon for Geoff to do some of the beatboxing, depending on the arrangement.😂
I’ve been wondering whether it is Geoff or Layne doing these sounds at 5:38 too, been listening over and over to figure out but can’t say. Anyway, I love that sound 😊. I love this song with VoicePlay! Thanks for your reaction! I love your energy, it makes me so happy.
Nice reaction Dave! EJ Cardona is or at least was a part of Voctave. You may have reacted to one of their songs where he leads. Phenomenal tenor. However, I know that VoicePlay has done a couple collabs with EJ's brother who's name completely escapes me. He did Superstitious with them. Strong tenor vibes from the Cardona family though. Voiceplay knocking it out of the park, and your reactions doing the same. Be blessed.
