Helena Paparizou was born and raised in Sweden, but she has Greek parents, and now she lives in Greece. She competed in Eurovision in 2001 too, as a part of the group Antique with the song "Die for You". Helena Paparizou also competed in Melodifestivalen 2014 with the song "Survivor".

Helena Paparizou is still a HUGE artist in Greece even tho so many years have past since her victory in Eurovision. She is such a talented and beautiful artist.

I became obsessed with her ever since her 2005 performance of Number one! I absolutely love her as a singer and as a human being, i think she has universal star quality, like you said she has Shakira aura. We love Helena Paparizou in Greece! She truly overall had the best Eurovision performance of Greece and gave as our one and only winning song year. 🩷🫶🏻

Yes it's a real instrument, a pontian lira. All the folk elements in this song, including the dance part and some of the dance moves, are pontian. Greece is ridiculously diverse for such a teeny tiny country, with numerous distinct regional cultures.

What is an interesting coincidence is that when Helena Paparizou won the 2005 Eurovision it was her nameday! For us Greeks (we are more than 90% Greek Christian Orthodox) our nameday is more important than our birthday. It was the 21st of May 2005. Saints Konstantinos and Eleni were celebrated. Helena's real birth name is Eleni. But is very common for an Eleni to be called Elena, Lena, Lenio, Lengo... Elena in English is Helena.

In the 1st music bridge with traditional music, she's dancing with her dancers a warrior dance from ancient greece,and shes one and only who woman did it,because this is dance for men only!!! This dance was danced by Achilles soldiers next to his dead body outside the walls of Troy,to honor him...

I'm from Greece and this song is our best in Eurovision! But you have to watch the song of Cyprus from 2004 that was excellent. Lisa Andreas, Stronger every minute.

Can you please react on Turkey 2003 Sertab Erener - Everyway that I can (03 winner) and also on Antique - Die for you (Greece 2001), Helena was part of that group-duo before she went solo..they have many great songs and that one is a masterpiece...❤
