Yes some good Icon For Hire content! Go and definetely check out "Off With Her Head", "You Can't Kill Us" and "Make A Move", some of my absolute favorites! Keep it up :)
Shawn & Ariel are both cool people, I remember being so nervous about meeting both of em that she wanted a fist bump, and I ended up giving her a half handshake. When that show happened, if I remember correctly, Shawn was still learning how to do all the electronic sound work at their live shows, I'm not sure if he still does that for shows but its a neat bit of info regardless
Oh he still does it, and he's only gotten way better over the years. Shawn is the mastermind behind their live shows. The guy is brilliant. And now he is finally getting to show more of his guitar skills with live solos and also has a couple quick solos on the new album. The guy doesn't get enough credit for the work he puts into this band.
I love to see you reacting to Icon For Hire. This band has helped me through a lot in my life and will always be one of my favorites. Ariel has such a great voice and so much of her emotion and past go into her lyrics. Not to mention Shawn is a fantastic guitar player. Make a Move is there most popular song but I also personally like Get Well a lot if you're looking to react to more.
Great to see a smaller band like Icon getting more attention, their Kickstarter went really well and the album is coming out soon It'd be great if you could react to some other small band who might even have smaller followings than you do, Blackbriar aren't quite that small but deserve more attention than they get by far, and then there are Aftermath Eternal and Chiasmata, my cousin is the drummer for the former and a friend of mine is a guitarist for the latter
@@BurningmonkeyGTR I have all the EPs and looking forward to the album. But, would be a excellent series from Chase. They are super unique and quite the talent. Especially the vocalist...so amazing.
This band deserves all the credit they get. They do it nearly all themselves. The lyrics are all Ariel. She writes most of them, and always has final say over the final writing. And Shawn writes a lot of the other stuff, and does at least some of the production himself as well. Which is for the best, because when you can have one of the band in on the production process, it really helps to capture just what they were aiming for, which is why I think k their production is always on point. Great reaction/review. Always good to see them getting some attention.
I just sent this to them. They will see it. I really enjoyed the technical analysis. As a fan I just really enjoy the music but I've never analyzed all the pieces that go together to make it happen. Thanks for this!
I used to have these guys on repeat back when the two first albums came out. Absolute fire. Just too much good music around to listen to everything coming out :D (I fell into a synthwave hole for years).
This was awesome! I picked up on a lot of the technical elements and techniques they used in this, but you helped point out a few of the more subtle ones I missed in the back. I suppose it helped that the vocals were so prominent in this. Also why does the song remind me of Drum & Bass? Like you said, killer. Love the lyrics, the song, the video. Masterfully written, sung, played, mixed, produced. Loved it! - not Jamie
Chase!! So happy you’re reacting to more Icon For Hire! Check out “Curse or Cure” from them! They have a video out and it’s newer like this one (off the same album I believe).
@@ChaseCarneson Yessss! Can't wait for them! I remember meeting them a few years back at a show, they were the coolest people to meet and chat with before and after the show!
@@ChaseCarneson I'm so glad for this man. you need to turn your buddy Tank on to them. Not sure if he will like them or not but it would make for a great reaction!!! I'm sure you saw by now though Ariel has reacted to one of your reactions and posted it on their channel. One other suggestion. She was really excited for your comments and they are very personable. You should try and do a reaction to a song of theirs live with them. They are great people as others have mentioned.
Can't wait for this album's release next month! I have the vinyl and cd both preordered. The song/video for "Curse or Cure" is another good one from this album.
Btw I'd love to see you react to Pulse (by Icon for hire)!! It's Shawn's favorite (or at least it was before the new album), and the production is something 🤩😍
Great reaction. Saw them live in Gothenburg, Sweden some 7 years ago when the toured with Hollywood Undead. Had a chat with Ariel after a great performance. She is a really nice person and they deserve more attention.
Top reaction again, its amazing how i look at music now following listening to your reaction videos, in the past all i was doing was listening not hearing, cheers matey
My man! Gotta say I love the way you break down all the intricacies of these songs, both in the musicianship and the production, which I love to pick apart myself as a musician. I’ve been out of practice a while but still have the ear for it and have always loved finding the nuances in new music. I love your fresh take on giving the community insight into what makes these artists and songs so great, and I look forward to seeing your perspective on all your vids! That said... I’m not giving up till we see some SHREZZERS on your channel, starting with Mystery! I only suggest it because I KNOW what you’re in for, and you’re gonna love every minute of it. (More Polyphia, both new and old, is always good and welcome too!) Keep up the amazing work, and looking forward to what’s coming next! Your channel has grown so much in the short time I’ve been here, and can’t wait to see how much further you’ll go!
I'm discovering alot of new bands on this channel, and i like it! :D This is another one for the playlist. thank you Chase \m/ You gotta try Meadows End - Non-Dreaming Eye, its a melodic deathmetal masterpiece and i just have a feeling you would like it! Have a damn good one ;)
You should do a video for the music video Curse or Cure by Icon For Hire. The song was released a fee months before this one and was the lead release for their upcoming album Amorphous. Curse or Cure I think is the best song out of the three us fans have heard so far, but they are all good, so they all get played.
After seeing your sign in the background enough times I came up with a twist message... "Have a good dam day. Keep the negativity from breaking through".
For the non-metal week I would go with Yosi Harikawa. Probably not many people know this guy. He makes ambient slow kind of beats but records all the samples himself. Flies to different countries to hear bears breathe, waterfalls go and people chatter on markets. Turns all the sounds into instruments and then creates a song. Bubbles would be a great start. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4CuJqtNdcJU.html&ab_channel=FirstWordRecords (
Kobra and the lotus . Kobra and the lotus. Kobra and the lotus. Kobra and the lotus . Kobra and the lotus. Kobra and the lotus. 1. Willow 2. losing my humanity 3. Soldier triger pulse and the chain are great also if you could give them a listen that would be awesome. Just like UTA the first song i listened to i was hooked, Fantastic band will not disappoint. love the vids on UTA, there are my favorit. Keep it up Chase !!!!!!!!
Hello Chase, first of all: Thanks for all your hard work, explaining all the little treads weaving into music. Fantastic Job. I am watching your reaction quite some time now and of course there are countless bands left to listen to. I want to suggest two: Brothers of Metal with Siblings of Metal and Battle Beast with Out of Control. Now why these two bands? I was listening to music while driving an only on these two songs i thougth: "Chase would like that". If u already know the bands, let me know what u think of them. Until then: Have a damn good day and stay healthy. Greetings from Germany :-)
I'd like to see you do a reaction to something by Carpenter Brut. Either something from Leather Face album or perhaps the new song Fab Tool featuring the guy from Wovenhand and 16 Horsepower which has an official video
Hm, now that u have done couple recent ones =:D, lets Go Back on roots and kind first (?) hit/s of this, its called: ICON FOR HIRE - Make A Move LANDMVRKS - Lost In A Wave AEPHANEMER - Bloodline Frozen Crown - Neverending
..........The hype is fail for me on this one. Especially after listening to the band Unleash the Archers. This track is all over the place with over tuned bass and the mix of thug rap with over produced metal.....sigh. Just not for me.
I have some trouble believing it when a traditionally beautiful woman sings about being a freak. I don't know her personal story, but it smacks of cliche to me.
@@Incendiary7 Agree with you. At some point I was a huge fan, and they're still one of my favorite bands. They've been through some shit, so I can totally see why you'd say this. A lot of their story is what compelled me to donate to their kickstarter for You Can't Kill Us.
@@kylieacorbett6942 I'll respond to a couple responses on yours here. I think I was pretty clear that I was reading a book by its cover, and all that comes with that, while also leaving open the fact that I don't know their story. Perhaps you can help me then if you've read the book? What establishes her, for lack of a better term, as a sympathetic narrator here?
@imagica I understand that there is a need for that in music and that her music likely helps people. My comment was around whether she was the person to give these needed messages. Like, you wouldn't empathize with a rich person saying they understand what it's like to be poor. Why is she the right person to give this message?
Poppy cheese metal? Dude, for one, they’re not even trying to be metal. They are just doing their thing. If you don’t like it, fine. But you don’t have to insult it or the hard work that they put into everything. They do it all themselves. She a little more respect to Chase, since it is his channel. He digs them. And show a little respect to their fan base, who just raised over a quarter of a million dollars for them in one month on their Kickstarter. Bet the bands you listen to couldn’t even get half that in such a short time. Good day!
