That's the region of Apulia (Puglia in Italian). The trio comes from two other regions: Sicily (Sicilia) and Abruzzi. The Il Volo's feature is the three different classes of voice: a baritone (the first one singing, the lower voice), and two tenors, with two completely different styles and timbres. The guy with the glasses is the one who uses a more classical register, so he has specific roles because it is a type of expressiveness that is boring in pop music and too rigid. The third guy is the most shining voice, perfect for high pitches and raising climax. This is the balance of their formula which makes them so worldwide successful (in addition to their likability). They are modeled on Italian taste, a context where usually opera singing is for opera works, and they are the only project trying to bring opera vibes in pop songs that become massively popular (which doesn't mean they are the best ones… It's a tacky genre).
