just got a recommend to this vid enjoy seeing different peoples reactions to vtubers as it varies greatly. what a vtuber is was kinda explained but not in very much depth. a vtuber can usually come in quite a few different forms/shapes as there's nothing to stop a person from being whatever kinds of vtuber they want to be. they can also be either a 2d or 3d model. vtubers are people using models instead of a facecam to help with stream interaction thus being able to keep their irl and vtuber identities separate(though depending on how iconic certain traits can be like voices/laughs it might be harder to hide the difference). these models are usually designed and then rigged(given joints/movement capabilities) by artists/riggers and depending on the quality can be very expensive. the person then uses software on computer/phones to allow them to take control of the model using cameras to track facial/body movements allowing them to be more like an actual person. like mentioned kobo is a vtuber from the hololive agency which is pretty massive where their main company is in Japan with English and Indonesian branches as well with currently 80 talents total.(main company is called cover corporation while the female side is called hololive and the male side is called holostars) they are also all idols and usually hold concerts/lives and produce original and cover songs over different times of the year. currently not including covers there's over 35 hours of original songs just from the talents that varies greatly in genres and styles.
