Another great analysis and reaction - thank you! Informative and entertaining. I wonder if there is some deliberate bitonality at 14:43 - to illustrate the lyrical imagery of the sounds the thrown things make on their way down. A kind of awkward clattering descent.

This is interesting from a theoretical perspective but once again I can’t help but feel that Jacob is over complicating a song that is already perfect the way it was written. I truly believe in making a cover your own but he’s barely even paying homage at all to the original. The melody and the bass line are about the only things recognizable and he somehow overcomplicates that too. I kind of sense it’s performed for musicians to dissect so they can praise Jacob Collier rather than for fans of the original artists to appreciate
