My personal favorite from this soundtrack is Can You Feel the Sunshine, but they're all amazing. Sonic never misses with the soundtracks even if the game is mid.
same, never played this game in my life, but man...the OST is absolute fire, pure feelgood 90s SEGA. yeah i think this is citypop? the funky bass, the soul. RIP my man Etika, he always played bangers on the streams
Holy hell you remember Etika's Breakout reaction vid, that's insane! I remember that vid came out of left field but it genuinely put me on to an amazing song and artist. RIP man, he really did know good music and loved to share it. And in a beautiful way, it seems you're carrying that legacy with you in your channel with the feel good vibes and everything. Appreciate you bro!
Bro it’s cool that you reacted to the Sonic R OST! It rare to see people do full on reactions to the soundtrack. Your reaction was amazing too man! Glad others are loving the Sonic R OST!
This OST is a total gem. I have it in my daily playlist and can listen to all of it ♬, ALL I NEED IS YOU! ♫♫So we can be together! ♪ ♪ All I need is you! ♫
NO WAY! You reacted to Sonic R songs!!! And my favorite is Work It Out!!! I even remixed Work It Out on my youtube channel because it's such a banger!!! Dude these songs are fire! You gotta react to more Sonic R songs! Super Sonic Racing, Can You Feel The Sunshine, and Back In Time are my other picks for you to check out from this game. You also should react to other Sonic game soundtracks, like Sonic Generations, Team Sonic Racing, and more of Sonic Mania! Catch you later, dude!
I know this is a couple months old but man thank you fro listening to the Sonic R OST these two are personally my favourite in the game and my friend dislikes the whole soundtrack like man he tripping
This was the first Sonic game I owned because it had a PC release (I never had a Sega console), so it holds a special place in my heart. I also think the game influenced my musical tastes because I cannot get enough city-pop in my life (even if classical and jazz are my favorite genres in general). If you're still looking for more city-pop, a Hololive member loves to do this style for her original songs, as well as her karaoke streams. Her name is Houshou Marine.
To think there was a time when this soundtrack was fairly disliked; I've always loved it. I think my favorite of the 7 vocal themes is either Back In Time or Diamond In The Sky, but honestly all of them are absolute bangers. If I had to choose a least favorite It's probably Super Sonic Racing solely because of there not being many vocals during the latter half of the song, which is a shame when it's very clearly the main theme (an instrumental version of it plays on the title screen). I wish these songs got more remixes but I think the only official one is the Super Sonic Racing remix in Sonic Generations, which I'm not a huge fan of. A few of them were brought back for the second major update of Sonic Frontiers at least, where they and a bunch of other older songs play in some new challenges.
If you like this check out the Metropolis Street Racer soundtrack, composed by the same guy Richard Jacques with TJ Davis singing. Some amazing bops on there with similar vibes!
Breakout doesn't really sound anything like Living in the City. The heavy swing is completely different, the style is different, the tempo is different, and it's considerably higher energy.
City Pop is dope. If you get the chance, listen to its more upbeat relative Future Funk. You'll like those vibes if you like the Sonic R songs so far 👌, and its super nostalgic even if youve never heard it before. (P.S. My fav song is a tie between Work it Out, and Diamond in the Sky)
Swing Out Sister AND Sonic R AND City Pop? I think we share a similar musical taste. If you give me a feedback about following recommendations, maybe I can help you pinpoint your favorite musical style(s) better: video game music: Ridge Racer - One More Win (100% chance you would like it) Burning Rangers - We are Burning Rangers Cosmic Eternity - Believe In Yourself not video game music: Moloko - Sing It Back Basia - Drunk On Love Lisa Stansfield - This Is The Right Time Loveland - The Wonder Of Love La Bouche - Be My Lover
I have some songs I think you would like from Fire Emblem Three Hopes, a warriors style game. Fodlan Winds [Inferno], Tempest of Seasons [Inferno], Corridor of Tempest [Inferno], and Profound Ties that Bind [Inferno].
Might give these a listen cause I played Three Houses and love it but never Three Hopes and warriors games soundtracks are always incredible! Even though admittedly I’ve still yet to play one!💀
I recommend “just another dream” and “all night long” by Cathy Dennis. It is the exact same genre as these tracks, they’re not city pop imo. City pop is older these tracks are like mid early 90s
