Fun fact: this animation was done BY HAND for most of it. Warp-out spent close to over 2 YEARS doing the drawing and coloring for this.

This isnt ever fully explored this in depth in the show but the story itself is cannon. There are fight scenes within the show but they are usually reserved for season intros/finales and movies. There is a multiverse within the show as well theres one episode where the main pony gets trapped in a time loop and the villain alters the timeline by stopping her friends from embracing the Elements of Harmony. And theres also the alternate universe where all the characters have a human version of themselves.

I personally never thought id become a fan of the show myself only recently became one because the fandom is amazing as seen by this example here.

Every now and then I'll do a search for reactions to MLP content by people only just discovering it. It's a joy to see people who might not normally give it a chance be surprised by how good it can be. I've had the pleasure of sharing the stage with some of the creative forces behind the show, and I can say with certainty that they were passionate in making a show that anyone could enjoy. These days cartoons are getting better at tackling difficult subjects in a way that isn't too harsh for kids, but is still deep enough for adults to feel. My Little Pony tackled racism, disability, loss of family, abandonment, depression, and more. And it did it with a fine balance that worked. Loved the reaction. Would love to see more.

My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is largely a slice-of-life show. In the first season Lauren Faust was the brains behind it, but after that she was relegated to a consultant position, but the people who were brought on strayed from her vision and she left. Lauren originally wanted to have more adventure stories, but I guess there was some confliction or something that led to more of a slice-of-life thing. Adventure stories did get their place occasionally, but with very few exceptions the first two episodes of each season tell a single story, and the last two episodes of each season also tell their own story. Those two-parters are of course on a larger scale than the individual episodes, and there's usually some antagonist. The story being told here in an interpretation of something in the universe's ancient past, specifically a story that actually gets resolved in the first two episodes of the series. Fun fact: While Warpout was working on this animation, an episode of the series came out that touched on that event, and something that was shown actually caused Warpout to make an edit to a scene to better fit what was shown.

This story is part of the actual show, however it wasn't fully explored by the show itself. In the TV show, season one episode one starts at the end of those 1000 years when Luna comes back, and the new ponies (the main characters of the show) use the Elements of Harmony to save her.

Thank you for giving this a shot. It is THE masterpiece of the fandom it took him 2.5 years to hand draw this. And be ready for request because the show had over 200 episodes lasting for 9 years with somewhere around 180 songs i think. A lot of them are really good. Keep these going and they will be your most viewed videos. I have been apart of the fandom since season 2 and im still finding new and amazing content. There is a guy who creates music named JYC Row and his music is amazing.

My first impression with this show (when my friend showed it to me) was like "this is gonna be lame, isn't it......wait a minute why are they opening with an epic tale about a battle between a sun and a moon goddess?? This is a kids show about PONIES, right?!" 😂 But seriously this show is great.

Celestia (the white pony) is the embodiment of/powered/powers the sun and she controls it. you can see this as she moves the sun (and moon while her sister is absent) to begin and end the day/night cycle. Luna(the black pony) is her sister and is connected to the moon. its canon that a 1000 years before the start of the show the two sisters ruled side by side, but as ponies are day time herbivores they loved the sun more. I'm talking that Celestia would have a line of ponies outside the castle all day every day for ruling stateship, advice from her, or simply for greeting and praising her. however as soon as nighttime came about everyone pretty much left, leaving Luna who was nocturnal to watch over the moon alone. eventually she started going crazy and a dark spirit possessed her (kinda willingly) also shown in the cinematic. Luna became Nightmare Moon and refused to lower the moon empowering her and weakening her sister the fight between them canonically trashed their castle and made celestia move her capital as the magical fallout made the everfree woods where magic and magical creatures run rampant. During the fight Celestia used the elements (the little star crystal and other shown on the plinth) to purify her sister wich somehow trapped her in the moon for roughly 1000 years to be the big bad evil during the first season. also also one of the lines in the song is "lullay moon princess" i looked it up but lullay is old english for hush now and go to sleep. to lull them to sleep and it just seems to fit as both are OLD and are pretty much gods.

This makes me cry every time. The song and animation are so beautiful.

The fandom is good and the show was fun. Music had some bangers and the story got pretty dark at times

I’ve never really known about the My Little Pony universe till I read some of these comments but having said that, I don’t need to know the series to appreciate just how amazing this video was. MLP seems to have a great fandom.

This animation is absolutely THE masterpiece of the fandom as other people have mentioned. I wasn't hugely into the fandom, but I absolutely _adore_ this piece. It's a breathtaking animation and the song itself is one of the most beautiful pieces I've ever heard. I put it up there with Indomitable from RWBY and Kaze No Mache He (E?) from Tsubasa Chronicles.

I became part of the MLP fandom in like late 2020, but I can say without a doubt, when it comes to fan projects, being animations (either silly or extremely emotional like this one), music, etc, this fandom is by far the most creative and talented one I have ever seen. As the comment you read said, this animation is actually a lot deeper than the series went, yet the show itself also touched a lot of heavy topics and had more emotionally mature scenes since around season 4-5 (at the point that I've heard a lot of people call S5 as the _"Season of feels"_ and, being honest, a lot of episodes made me after tear up or straight up cry there). Also I might add I personally relate to Luna a lot (the blue pony in the animation) because of her emotional struggles in her centric episodes in the series. (Oh and, about the fight scenes. I won't spoil anything but I'll just say, season 4 finale has literally one of the most badass fight scenes I have ever seen. Again, the show stopped being a _"kids show"_ and became more of a show for everyone since season 4 onwards ;3 )

I've never really been into the whole mlp things, but some of the songs from the show are amazing and the fan made music! The fandom makes such good music

The story is summed up in the first episode of generation 4 mlp this animation was in production before they even showed what actually happened in the show. It was shockingly similar to the show’s version, but the show didn’t include this fan song nor was as emotionally powerful as this animation. Though the show is more like an action adventure rather a toy line copout. That’s why so many people loved it, it was like watching characters grow over time.

your comment at the 6:00 mark is actually interesting, because the show - while it is aimed toward the young audience - didn't shy away from "cartoon violence". In the finale of Season 4 they have a straight up Dragon Ball Z style fight scene that goes on for a good while. If you're interested, look up "Twilight vs Tirek" and you'll see how intense the show could get.

Hand animated, hand drawn. The guy that did this said he could get 30s per month. Not the greatest animation from the fandom in my opinion, but easily and without debate in the top 5. Been part of the fandom since 2013. I’ve seen great thing and terrible things. The terrible people that give the base a bad rep are a very small portion. The majority are really cool and have helped me through my lowest point in my life. Talked me out of suicide late 2013, I literally owe this fandom my life. The series is 100% worth a watch, once you see it for what it is and not “just a kids show” it’s an amazing story about an introvert learning and growing as a “person” to be the best as they can be. Learning and growing from everyone around them. Ps. Always enjoy the vids, keep it up. One of my fav reactors and channels.

I wouldn't say it's common, but yes. Every once in a blue moon, in the cannon MLP series, you'll get a badass fight scene full of unicorn lazers. It's usually reserved for season finales.

The show creator for this version of mlp has gone on the record that shows for girls do not need to be dumb. Her goal was to make something girls could watch with their parents and the parents would also be entertained.

6:08 You are correct. It’s a family show that is targeted towards a female audience, however no one could have predicted that a male audience could also enjoy quality entertainment as well. Bronies I’ve noticed over the years are the most dedicated fans of MLP, but come from all walks of life and share their time, talents, and gifts with others. Fan made content is way more entertaining than even the show sometimes because they explore things that aren’t covered in the show proper, etc.

Well, that was unexpected =) Never thought that channel I watch for Nightwish and Sabaton will suddenly please me with MLP content. "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic" started in 2010 and was the 4th generation of MLP franchise. Before that MLP was nothing but a silly toy advertisement for little girls. But Lauren Faust, the main creator, decided to transform these shitty cartoons into REALLY good show -- not only for children, but for their parents too. And authors nailed it. This cartoon tells us beautiful and heartwarming stories about things we often forget about -- about the great power friendship is, and what it costs for us to maintain it. MLP:FiM became wildly popular and suddenly gained the whole audience of adult people across all the world -- bronies. This fandom isn't about Rule 34 or other crap, as stereotypes say -- it's also about creativity and art. "Lullaby for a Princess" is one of the best fan works fandom ever created. It's all about mixing antipodes. Celestia, Princess of the Day -- and Luna, Princess of the Night. Two alicorn sisters, powerful godlike rulers of a great country -- and silly disagreement problems, which may occur in any family. Magic battles, shaking the whole universe and igniting new stars -- and simple human (==pony) mistakes, taking millennias to pay the price. Powerful orchestral parts -- and tranquil sad piano/violin melodies. Deep Celestia's despair -- and a tiny ray of hope (Luna isn't dead, and her banishment will eventually going to end). And above all this -- love, genuine sisterly love, which doesn't fade with time and doesn't weaken at distance. Freaking tears again... If you don't have any persistent prejudices, you definitely should give a chance to the show itself (and maybe do some reactions). If you don't think this is your cup of tea... well, most people thought the same way in the beginning. In any case, if you dislike it, it won't take long to quit. I like this animation because it's sticks towards the Canon of the actual story! alot of them actually do which is amazing!! so many people like making AUs and headcanons! [ which aren't bad ] that when everybody can agree that the actual story is so good that no matter what; you can find something new based off of who you look towards!! that's wonderful.

This whole song's story happened in the show and yes there are many epic fight scenes just as cinematic if not more so.

Here's the context for the song and the animation: Around a thousand years before the show begins Princess Celestia (The white one) is the renown and beloved princess of the sun, while everyone loves and adores her few to none do so to her sister Princess Luna (The purple / black one) who is the princess of the moon. Luna eventually becomes so spurned with hatred and malice that she becomes the villian Nightmare Moon who causes an enter night to shroud the world. After much hesitation of Celestia's side she uses a group of six artifacts called The Elements Of Harmony to seal her sister away for one thousand years. The middle period is a period of struggle for the lone princess, missing her sister. One thousand years later Nightmare Moon makes her escape by aid of the stars (a prophecy told in the first two episodes.) And thats the overall plot of the song / animation / first two episodes of MLP G4.

Thanks for this reaction, lovely to see. Outside of the famous abridges, I haven't engaes with the fandom for quite a while, but there were staggeringly amazing creators. Even the fact that that was entirely hand drawn.

This is an actual event that takes place in the show. The show was made for all ages. Parents are supposed to be able to watch with their kids and everyone be able to enjoy it.

On My Little Pony in general, as someone who watched it when I was younger and then rewatched it now as I'm older, there's a ton of much much more darker themes in MLP when you look back on it with an analytical mind. One episode, the mane 6 go to a legit cult town (The Cutie Map part 1 and 2), and there's also a number of episodes that tackle various mental illnesses (Lesson Zero is the best for portraying how bad anxiety and OCD can be for a person sometimes). There's also the ponies themself who are very interesting or relatable. On the interesting end of the spectrum, there's Bon-Bon aka Special Agent Sweetie Drops. While relatablity varies from person to person, I myself heavily relate to Fluttershy as an autistic individual with an anxiety disorder.

The first 2 episodes of my little pony takes place when Princess Luna (dark one) escapes and the main characters have to find the elements to stop her. The 2 episode special ends with Princess Celestia confronting her sister. Everything in the animation from lore to fight scenes actually happened.

A version of this fight does occur in the series. It was a flashback if I remember so we only get parts, but the basics are true. This fight sets up the plot of the entire show

Woah, not what I was expecting to see for a reaction! For probably a year straight, my daughter insisted on listening to this every night (or multiple times) before bed...honestly, I grew pretty sick of it at that point, but definite nostalgia kicking in now! MLP is actually pretty fun...certainly better than a good bit of anime I've watched =P

I believe that Christina Ellis as Princess Celestia is the lead singer for this. But the Og actor is Nicole Oliver.

It's a bit of both. It started as a show "just for kids," but with clever enough writing and solid enough characters to catch the interest of an adult audience. The writers noticed, and amped the effort to appeal to both. This show would probably have ended after 3 seasons, but went on for 9! This is NOT a perfect show. There are plenty of badly written and executed episodes. But it's still a decent watch, at least once. I'd recommend watching the 2-part premier at least, in your own time. They actually address the story This animation tells!

I do note take credit for typing this someone else wrote it but here’s what sums up everything perfectly: The thing for Luna (younger sister) is that she didn't only have envy and jealousy. She had grief and isolation, noone even knew her name. All the work she did was accredited to her sister and most didn't know she even existed. vet those that did know she exists had expectations that she'd be just as good and perfect as how her sister always acted. She was dealing with expectations and responsibilities with none of the recognition, and the worst part is she had noone on her side. They have no parents. They have no other siblings. The fact that they're from an entirely different species from the rest of the world due to their royalty meant she had noone. they're immortal, she was bottling it all up and dealing with it for hundreds of hundreds of years before this and slowly but surely her name was completely wiped fron history books. She was doing HUNDREDS of years of work for no reward, and all this, without even one person to confide in. It's enough to drive even the most resilient of people completely fucking mad.And the worst part is, even after ALL THIS. 1000 years later, she's been reduced to a nightmare night story, the kind of story like the boogeyman. She ended up being known only at her worst. Even the main character, who's entire thing is that she's a studious bookworm, didn't even know her name. most didn't even know she existed. Nobody can deal with all this and not go insane. And personally thorough out the series of MLP she never fully got the recognition she deserved

As an mlp fan I can tell you that fight scene did happen, of course since it was more geared towards children it was a little less violent :)

The show is mostly slice of life, but it does have occasional battles of good vs evil. One particular fight has the main character battling a magic eating centaur and it's basically a Dragon Ball battle with laser beams and explosions.

Great reaction. Sadly, the pony hype is mostly over by now, the new cartoon will most likely not be able to re-capture that lightning in a bottle that the G4-show had. The show was absolutely top-tier, there is a reason why it inspired so many fans to create their own fan-creations, and some of them, like WarpOut, were able to create absolute masterpieces. The MLP-lore was really deep and opened up so many possibilities for fans to expand upon. Those years were truly amazing.

This is probably one of the best know brony songs and animations out there. Since they went with I think 24 frames per second animation. Which is dedication to their, and Lullaby for a Princess was already very well know as a song.

It is a story of two regal sisters who ruled Equestria together. One of them was in control of the Sun, the other one in control of the Moon, and they ruled together to keep the Harmony in their land. But as time went on, the younger sister became jealous about her elder sister who was taking all the glory, leaving her little sister in her shadow, unappreciated and not getting as much love as she thought she deserved. So she decided to take it on her own, by taking over the kingdom. One day, she refused to lower the Moon and the fight between the sisters begun. The bitterness in the younger sister's heart consumed her and transformed her into Nightmare Moon (the scene you can see in 04:27). The elder sister tried to reason with her, but it was already too late, she didn't want to listen. Reluctantly, the elder sister decided to use the most powerful magical weapon in Equestria - the Elements of Harmony - against her sister in order to stop her. But it didn't turn out well: it sent her younger sister to the Moon for 1000 years banishment. Mostly in later seasons when the creators of the show started to notice that it has got older fan base as well. 06:00 Well, that's the thing: when people hear MLP, they usually think of the girly stuff from the '80s, or that it's just another kids show. But things changed. The so-called Generation 4 (G4 in short) got a total revamp as they rebooted it as an animated series in 2010, with an entire new world, character designs, stories etc., and it was targeted to "all audiences", so that parents could watch it with their kids without cringing or getting bored to death. The first season or two was still a bit childish, but once the creators of the show realized that it has got so many adult fans, they started introducing more adult themes and depth into it. (Unfortunately, the originals are gone; there's a backup copy on PonyPreservation channel and probably somewhere else.) "Fall of the Crystal Empire" by Silly Filly Studios (SFS Animation). This one is about the fight between the Princesses and the evil king Sombra. (This one might be a bit spoilery though if you haven't seen the first two seasons of the show, so I'd recommend to watch it later.) Animation and music in this is all original. The MLP series is mainly a comedy, slice of life, and of course fantasy. Fight scenes are mainly reserved for the end or beginning of a season where they fight the villain(s) of the series. Plot: Although the main plot of this (Celestia sealing her sister in the moon after Luna feels unappreciated and goes rouge) is canon, the canon story never truly explains or deeply explores Celestia's feelings to sealing her sister away. This Fanmade masterpiece explores Celestia's perspective of this situation while adding a tiny bit of headcanon. Extra info: How Luna got sealed in the moon. The crystals/gems that you see Celestia use during the fight in the animation are actually called the Elements of Harmony. They are extremely powerful magical sources (because "friendship is magic"). She used these gems to amplify her power and seal Luna away. As you can see, each elemental gem is a different colour, which is why we assume that when Celestia uses the elements, her original pink hair turns colourful due to the gems' magic. Celestia and Luna are alicorn sisters, meaning they embody all three types of pony: Earth (just a pony), Unicorns (can use magic), and Pegasus (can fly). Celestia controls the sun, while Luna controlled the moon. They also have different abilities such as Luna being able to enter dreams, but since Celestia gets more publicity as the one that's out during the day, Luna basically gets shunned and is less recognised/praised/worshiped. This is why hatred started to grow within Luna and she started to turn towards the darkness to become more recognised. Although her intentions weren't inherently evil or malicious, due to the "darkness" she became more violent and 'evil'. Damn, this is long. If there are any questions just ask i guess.

MLP: all happy, kid friendly, with good life lessons. The MLP adult fans: "I will destroy your feelings and show you how dark my mind can be" All in all, tried the show after hearing who made friendship is magic, loved some of the fan work, ends up as a fan after that.

this is what i consider the fandoms magnum opus. so great it is that it transcends the fandom to be enjoyed by those who looked down on it. it is made with dedication lasting 2 and a half years that it just radiates passion and imbues it with life, fusing both song and animation to create a monumental animation. you can't look at this and just dismiss this as childish animation because its MLP. It's far too impressive and beautiful you can't help but appreciate it for what it is. i can't say the same for the moon rises or other animations. as wonderful as they are they are still made more for the fans and this decreases the enjoyment or even nullify it completely for those outside looking in. no matter who you are no matter if you like or hate mlp you can enjoy this animation and song.

As someone who grew up with this show and loved and still love it over 10 years later, the story this music video is based off is something that did happen but it was 1,000 years before the show takes place. Though there are fights exactly like this fan-animation in the show, which is probably how they had been inspired to make the fight scene. The main pony singing is Princess Celestia, she raises the sun, the other pony is her little sister Princess Luna, she controls the moon. But she ended up being corrupted by evil and turned into Nightmare Moon, that's who she is when fighting her sister, during her time banished to the moon Celestia takes control over the moon.

Yeah, if you do decide to dive deeper into the pony rabbit hole there is so much content available for you. from both the show and fandom. as others suggested, "The Moon Rises" is kind of a follow up/prequel to this. Ponyphonic released that after this song. originally he sung it himself (with his amazing voice), even tho it's Luna telling the tale. "Duo Cartoonists" decided to animate it as a follow-up to their equally amazing "Children Of The Night" (which i'm sure can still be found somewhere, even tho their channel is no more). But they used an extended version of his song that he created for them, and sung by the great Ellymonty. another is "Don't Mine At Night" by Jan Animations. based on a fan made minecraft song and animated in the mlp show style. and there is music to fit practically any taste. Epic orchestral work like Makkon's "Deae Lunae" and "Winterglade", rock ballads like PrinceWhateverer's "Solidarity" (look for the MAP version), or a combination like Jyc-Row's and Princewahteverer's "together against the sisters" and "Final Eclipse". Or even electronic type stuff like The Living Tombstone's remix of "Discord" or Alex S' remixes of "20 percent cooler" and "Luna". and so much more.

Lauren Faust, the creator of MLP Friendship Is Magic wanted the show to appeal to all ages and not be restricted to appealing only to a little girl demographic. She ended up leaving Hasbro over disputes about the content of the show and DHX(the crew who creates the show) went with Lauren's ideas making the show have more mature themes while still keeping a kid-friendly appearance. What makes MLP unique is that the mature themes in it aren't about blood, violence, and sex as most "mature" labels are. The mature themes of MLP comes from the ponies themselves having to deal with adult level problems (that sometimes get a little too real). That's what makes the show so unique and appeal to such a variety of adults. To the story itself: The most heartbreaking thing about this animation is being reminded that Celestia had to raise the moon with her sister trapped in it every day for 1000 years.

I'm sure someone told you, but yea, this kind of actually played out, funnily enough, after this video came out they had a similar scene in the show. However, this was the lore and backstory for Celestia and Luna\Nightmare Moon.

If I remember right, the singer was a member of Ponyphonic's family, but I can't say for sure. He just listed her as "Christina"

Hi! Pagasister here! So, the battle of the two sisters is canon. Luna and Celestia did fight and the battle ended with Luna, or at that point Nightmare Moon, being banished to the moon for a thousand yes. (Yes, Tia's over a thousand years old.) While the fight between Tia and Moon wasn't as epic as the animation made it out to be there are fight scenes in MLP that get to that level of epic. Particularly in later seasons. The Battle between Twilight and Tirek comes to mind. I fully encourage you to give the show another look. Like their transforming brothers, these ponies are more than meets the eyes. X3 Also, if you ARE interested in Luna's point of view there is another fan animation and song called 'The Moon Rises' I'd recommend you watch or react to. It's another beautiful song and the animation is amazing.

First episode goes over when Luna (turned to nightmare Moon) comes back from her 1000 years imprisonment. We don't really see much of this fight initial fight when Luna got sent to the moon but we know it happened so fans made the song about it and made an animation of what the fight looked like.

A few episodes I half watched with my friend and this animation/song is what got me into MLP, and it's great.

The story in this video is canon, it's from the show. Princess Luna transformed into Nighmare Moon (an evil version of herself) and her sister Celestia had to ban her to the moon. However, we don't really see in detail how this happened. In episode 1, this story already has happened and Nightmare Moon returns. There are villains and battles, but mostly at the end or beginning of a season. And yes, they sometimes do have these DBZ style battles.^^ The rest of the show rather shows everyday life situations. Yes, it's targeted towards kids, but it's very enjoyable to watch.

For information purpose, white pony is called Celestia and black/blue pony is Luna, Celestia and Luna were rulers of their kingdom, Celestia paper is move the sun, and brings the day, Luna was to move the moon and bring the night, but with the time Luna begin to feel, hatred and jealous towards his sister Celestia, because the ponies play in the day and sleep in the night, that hatred transformed her into Nightmaremoon (4:37) and so, Nightmaremoon refuse to move the moon again, so celestia was forced to seal her sister in the moon, until 100 winters (literally) pass and Nightmaremoon return to equestria.

5:50 actually this is what my little pony is like at points, although it isn’t till the later seasons unfortunately (season 4, 5+) It is catered to children, I watched it when I was younger but there’s a lot you don’t pick up on as a kid. Which may be why I’m a big fan of the show still

I don't know why I didn't say this the last time I was here, but it's funny that you mention watching a video where a bunch of bronies were at a McDonalds and just started singing, considering that MLP FIM, in later seasons, started becoming self-aware about the fact that sometimes the characters just started singing out of nowhere and for seemingly no reason.

you were asking if the show was action packed like this animation, and the truth is that the show is more like a slice of life show. but it is set in a fantasy world with dragons and magic and a chaos god, so there are action focused episodes, usually the season premier and finale.

I miss Ponyphonic, he actually got me to listen to country with his song Applejack, & his song "Walls" was so perfect message about people arguing on the internet.

Fights are in fact part of mlp! In fact it's rather common in bigger arcs! (Cough cough, twilight vs tirek where tirek is wielding the magic of the whole kingdom and twilight is wielding the magic of the ecquivalent of four pony gods (god of the sun, moon, romantic love and platonic love)) There's also the entire arc where chrysalis abuses the love a husband has for her wife to feed herself, while exiling the wife to a crystal cave where she's slowly starving to death, the arc where starlight creates a cult (btw that is _chilling_. Scared the shit out of me the first time with all the fake smiles and the way they're all just complacent to her every whim) the arc where starlight creates multiple timelines where the inhabitants are suffering all just to get back at twilight for taking apart her cult, and it ends in multidimensional fighting between twilight and starlight as starlight wrecks havoc in other dimensions and twilight trails after her to prevent her breaking something permanentkly, so on so forth. The show gets dark, yall lmao

I wanted to clarify one something. The MLP Fans took the characters and stories and MADE them deeper than they were intended. There show was targeted for children but had appreciable elements in the same sense that allowed parents to watch Looney Tunes with their kids. It just so happens the combined generations that came to love this show were primed to be creatively inspired. Hasbro gave a silent nod to most of what was created, especially in the early days. Most controversies resulted from the fans talent making their own work indistinguishable from the actual show meriting more legal consideration. But yes, marvelous and truly appreciable talent has been put on display for over 10 years.

If anyone out there has yet never seen the show since it's debut 10 years ago, please try it. All seasons available on Netflix. Go in with an open mind. Hopefully it's payoff will it will bring a new kind of happiness in your life that wasn't there before.

So... Once upon a time, in the magical land of Equestria, there were these two princesses. Princess Celestia (the white one), the princess of the day, in charge of raising and lowering the sun, and Princess Luna (the dark blue one), the princess of the night, in charge of raising and lowering the moon, in both cases among the standard ruling duties. Princess Luna started feeling that she was not appreciated, since all ponies that were outside working and playing during the day, spent all the night sleeping and not appreciating her night. This feeling grew unnoticed by anyone, most of it her own sister Princess Celestia, until it was too late to talk her out of it. Resentful, she turned into Nightmare Moon (the even darker one that fights with Princess Celestia), and threatened to cast the land of Equestria into an eternal night by refusing to lower the moon. This would have caused a slow extinction, since the Equestrian society cannot live under eternal night. For one, sunlight is needed to grow food. So Princess Celestia, as good rulers do, had to put her subjects before the being that is threatening their lives, even if that being is her sister, and thus banished her to the moon for 1000 years and took her duties on top of her own, now reigning alone. Of course, that doesn't mean she's happy about the decision she had to make, and this is where this song comes, with Princess Celestia talking down on herself, feeling that if she had noticed earlier what was growing in the mind of her sister, all of this could have been avoided.

Its probably to late, but if you want all the informations you need, just watch the first like 30 seconds of the very first My little Pony Friendship is Magic episode. The Whole thing is about it. I love how they tell a deep and tragic story like a Fairytale story for Kids. Well they did covered more in later episodes, including that fight, and all the pain Luna had to suffer from. Imagine you just want to get acknowledged for your work and pasion you do for others, but noone does that since all sleep while you do that. You watch your adored sister shine each and everyday and that feeling drives you insane. And the only one who wants to help is exact the character who caused all this Pain. You get insane and want attention, only once, but you get out of control and have to be banned to the Moon, all alone for 1000 Years, with absolute nothing but darkness. And then you come back to the same old Problem you had befor, but this time everyone is fearing you and runs away from you. Luna is a incredible Character for such a show. Strong, damaged but still caring and lovely. She fights her inner demons and punishes herself with nightmares everyday, to remember never to redo the mistakes she made. She protects you, helps you with your nightmares and paint the Sky, she is literary the Night. And her inner demon the nightmares you think of if you think about darkness, and whats inside of it. But the Night itself isn't evil, the night is beautiful and precious. Thats what the Character is trying to show you :D On a Character building point, this is amazing and its right in a show about talking horses xD Celestias Side is hard too. She just did what she had to, she had no choice and knew Lunas Problem and that she cant help. Imagine you have to do that to the person you love the most and have to watch her Face every night on the Moon, knowing that its all your fault and that she is suffering the whole time. And now tell all that like a simple kids Story thats totaly not tragic at all. Thats what mlp loves to do xD

Lmao, in order to enjoy something like my little pony you basically gotta have thick skin and a I don't care sorta vibe. But I agree they are very dedicated and put alotta effort into their projects the insane talent in their music and horror stories is originally how I fell into it personally.
