They managed to get Vigo the Carpathian to come out of retirement and play guitar. Great stuff. lol Seriously though. Lynyrd Skynyrd is legendary. Great reaction.
At this point, this is pretty much a Skynyrd tribute band. When doing any future reactions, nothing after 1977 will do. Original band is where the heart and soul is.
@@Shawn-mo6dh Ronnie was going to have Johnny replace him as lead singer. This isn't a tribute band. Many of the originals played in it until they passed away.
People saying this is a tribute band are full of it. If Ronnie was alive it would have looked similar. Ronnie wanted Johnny to replace him as lead singer. Almost all the original members that survived have passed. When they were alive they played in this band.
If you liked the melody I am suggesting a song from the Scorpions that always reminds me to this song but it is a bit softer and smoother. It is called Always Somewhere. Here is the link - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-AepjLbcLrJE.html
@@robwilliams8613it's like saying one guy around you invented the Rubik's Cube with everyone hanging around trying to figure out the Rubix cube but the one guy who can solve it named Ronnie is dead. From a producer.
It's Great To See Them Live & This Is An Excellent Song Choice,, But Right After This,, I Would Suggest You Listen To The Studio Version & It Has The Lyrics Too.
The song sounds okay I guess, but I consider anything after the plane crash in 1977 to be a cover song/band and not Lynyrd Skynyrd… I enjoy your channel - Cheers!
In my opinion this is not even Skynyrd This Version of the band are just riding the backs of the original band in which most died in a plane crash in 1977. This Version band has made one album since 1977 which was a Flop, but still only play the original bands songs.
Unfortunately, the band that recorded the studio version of 'Simple man' had (mostly) passed away... So, this live version only has Gary Rossington (guitar) from the original Lynyrd Skynyrd... This is w/ current singer Johnny Van Zant (his late brother Ronnie Van Zant was the original singer, who died in 1977) and Ricky Medlocke (from the band Blackfoot) on guitar... the rest are session members.
Medlocke was one of their earlier drummers before he left to form Blackfoot. I think he was the drummer when they recorded "demo" at Muscle Shoals before getting signed that they released after plane crash that had original Freebird, & may have had original Simple Man as well? So he's actually Skynrd alumni! ✌🌎❤
"Simple Man" is my favorite Skynyrd song. I saw them live in Omaha NE. on their "reunion" tour. It was their first tour following the plane crash in '77. They had Ronnie VanZant's cowboy hat hanging on a microphone stand though out the concert, highlighted by an isolated spotlight. By way of recorded concert footage, displayed on large screen behind the band. Johnny VanZant was able to do a duet with his deceased brother, Ronnie. It quite literally left much of the crowd in tears. It was one of the most moving moments in all the concerts I have attended.
The original line up is best. They do a good job. That’s Ronnie Van Sant’s younger brother. Do yourself a favor and check out the original. Better done by the original. We all love Lynryd Skynrd. If you have a heart.😎
That's why i specialize only in crypto trading, i have made up to $10,300 profit and it's been sent to my portfolio every week, Expert Patrick Archie is amazing

Hey Verdy so you play football/soccer? Then you should do a reaction to "the yellow wall" or also known as Südtribüne Dortmund. These guys are known to be the craziest soccer fans ever. To get a ticket for the "Süd" you need to be a member of Borussia Dortmund and have a place on a long waiting list.
Most don't like the current band because of their politics. What they are missing is Ronnie would have been the same as Johnny and Donnie politically if he had survived. That means Ronnie would have also been canceled for his politics.
That's Ronnie's brother Johnny Van Zant it's not Ronnie. But, might as well come full circle and make it a family affair and listen to Donnie Van Zant in 38 Special.
lol...u see how critical every1 is in the comments i trust...it was a long time ago and alot more to the story than peeps want to know or wish to talk about...im a critical listener and i give them a 5 or a 6 on a scale from1-10...even in there prime...the money peeps didnt care as long as the money was comming in...music scene is way diff today...for u miss verdy i would say no...not for you...u r kind in your reaction and im sure the band appreciates it...best wishes...all is well
Definitely the wrong choice--you need any of their songs with the original singer Ronnie...they are WAY WAY better with him. They are a pale imitation after.
Totally wrong version. This is not Lynyrd Skynyrd. This song is flat and lacks the shackled energy of the original. I can not watch. Sorry you are getting a thumbs down for not doing your research.
You might as well listen to a cover version, this ain’t the song. It’s cool but it ain’t the real deal. Speaking of covers, Shinedown does a good one legit if you don’t wanna react to the real/original one
Hello Rachel, joyeux Noël. Si tu aimes ce genre de musique tu peus tenter Blackfoot (dont un des membres joue ici) avec le morceau highway song. Amicalement. Marc.
I love this band and give kudos for keeping it going all these years but reacting to them not as the original isn't a proper representation of who they were. Great song, no complaints
Great song, Great reaction. In your search for the best talent please add Tobacco Road by Johnny Winter, Edgar Winter(Live) 9:20. And See The Light by Jeff Healey - Night Music 1988, 6:02.
Hello Verdy! This is almost a different band from the one you saw in the "Freebird" theme, because most of its original members have passed away. JOHNNY VAN ZANT replaced RONNIE,his brother on vocals. Despite everything, they continue to play Southern Rock with that unique magic!! One of my first albums was "Nuthin' Fancy" from 1975, which you would have to listen to!! Greetings from ARGENTINA!!🇦🇷🏆
Many just don't like the band now because of their politics. As I mentioned there is no way that Ronnie would have been any different than Johnny and Donnie politically if he survived. That means Ronnie would have been canceled for his political views. People will say I am wrong but they are full of it.
@@steveheck4348 Hello Steve! I don't think you are so wrong with your thinking. I was talking about how good the band still sounds without putting so much emphasis on the lyrics. I wish you a great year! Hug from Argentina!!
@@albertorodriguez3631 Hello Alberto, Thank you for the reply and hugs back to you from America! I am agreeing with you. Ronnie actually wanted Johnny to replace him as the lead singer. Ronnie was having ongoing problems with his voice. That is water under the bridge because of the plane crash. I brought up politics because some people believe Ronnie would have been different politically than Johnny and Donnie which I don't agree with. The current band is very pro America and Conservative which doesn't play well to the Liberals that populate RU-vid.
Great job with your reaction and thoughts on Simply Man from Lynyrd Live Performance VERDY if you want to check out and listen to a great Cover of this song check out Shine Down( official Video it came out 13 years ago) or a live performance.
The '73 version is amazing, this is 43 years after the release and sounds like depleted batteries not to mention the faster tempo. One of the greatest songs ever performed, thanks for bringing it to the present.
You do realize you're watching Johnny Van Zant his brother singing Ronnie Van Zant who died in plane crash who wrote this song and who sang and played Freebird and all their other hit songs including; That smell, Tuesday's Gone, Simple Man, Curtis Loew, Sweet home Alabama, I know a little etc.... I got you just listening to the music but you really should School yourself and educate yourself to the background and history of the band who's alive who's dead I'm back now they're all dead Gary rossington just recently died the last original member but Artimus Pyle the drummer is still alive but Judy Ronnie Van Zant's wife won't allow him in the band cuz they're feuding it's such a shame but it would be nice if you knew because of the history on the band
Ricke Medlocke is the only old member still allowed in the band by Judy. RVZ wife he was about to apparently divorce according to Artimus Pyle their last drummer from 70's who survived the fateful plane crash and went for help.....tha5s why your seeing Gary Rossington play guitar here, who also played that amazing slide in Freebird in 77' in one of your previous reactions.
This is one of Ronnie Van Zant's surviving brothers, Johnny. The band lost Ronnie, and Steve and Cassie Gaines in the October 1977 plane crash. They've since lost Allen Collins (guitar) Billy Powell (keyboard) and Leon Wilkeson. (bass) RVZ was an amazing singer/songwriter/bandleader, who rarely wrote anything down.
This is a wonderful song, unfortunately you chose a version where only Gary Rosington (guitarist in black cowboy hat) is an original member. I would recommend going back and listening to the original. Simple Man is one of my all time favorite Skynrd songs.
Doux Verdy, Toujours ma Québécoise préférée. J'adore cette version car ce sont les gars qui jouent encore les chansons pour les gens. L'original est génial mais c'est donc cette version. Tu as très bien choisi. L'Université de Sherbrooke est une excellente école. Ils ont de la chance de vous avoir. Merci Barry
