He never give a gender to the story he sings or neither identifies with a specific sexual orientation in his public life, believing there is not need to put love into boxes nowadays. He uses his video not only to give meaning to the song, but also willing to portray a massage of inclusion, giving representation to all kind of genders, relationships or ethnicities, trying to smooth all the differences we tend to highlight, finally normalizing all these matters and making people more accepting without even realizing the switch in their mentality. Here in Italy there are really few people questioning if the relationship he is singing about is gay or etero, finding it not relevant and only perceiving that we all love and make mistakes in the same way, regardless who we love. I find this really refreshing and up forward for our society that tend to be really still on these thematics.
Loved your reaction!! I agree his voice is so unique and haunting, I love it so much. The song is about the way one of his relationships ended, him being cheated on and there not being the same love and loyalty from his partner as he had for him… so yes it’s very emotional for him, too. I think you’d also like Inuyasha and T’amo (which sadly only has a visual instead of a music video. But I highly recommend it, it’s a love song he wrote to his mother, who raised him alone.)
Yeah, i' m obsessed too (with his voice)! Check out his other songs, please, totally magnetic and beautiful voice, also with different rithm, always powerful and fragile at the same time, he's a great artist. If you want to listen him when he was young, in an english cover, watch: Freedom, Django: m.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4E8_ZsqRSVA.html
