@@owl365-guy I’m probably being a nitpicking dick by saying this, but he probably wouldn’t. No shitty greedy mobile game company would ever be able to pay Homelander the moolah he usually gets, let alone more.
@@revamp2672not trying to shill for NRS or anything, but how is it possible they could afford John Cena and JK Simmons but not this guy? The former two are WAY more recognizable stars than Starr
@@Hungabrigoo they used to make fun of their own gods-in-victimhood culture during season 1 but since then it's all about how much they hate america and every who's white in america is evil and bla bla bla
He has literally said he is lazy af in interviews, this is a perfect job for him. Bro didn’t even work out to be homelander, they just made his suit bigger. Jensen ackles got ripped for soldier boy and antony basically called him stupid. Bro is not an overachiever lmao, more power to him
@@SbeveAmoguswell akchtually there is a genetic condition called myostatin-related muscle hypertrophy, for which the affected people naturally develop more muscle mass and strength without the need for extensive exercise and with absolutely no negative health effects from the condition. So it's not difficult to imagine that some super heroes have some form of that as an extra side buff.
@@jaehparrkYou’d be surprised by how many celebrities who supposedly “have it made” manage to lose it all through overspending. Some people just aren’t prepared to handle that much money.
Social media is literally predator level ruthless😂.its like celebrities can't do things anymore they like cause its all about "the fans",what the fans want
@@Jeroime4no, it’s because (a)those games are literally as close as you can get to the terms “predatory” and “scam” as you can legally get, and (b) there’s simply no way they were able to pay him what he’s worth, the man has to be insanely expensive
@@Nunya111 That's exactly what they are, predatory. Can't believe he would stoop so low. I wonder if he knows how intrusive those LW ads are on RU-vid
The more I find out about Anthony Starr, the more I realize the dude is literally Homelander. Shilling out for a terrible mobile game unenthusiastically is right on point.
@@xeox4280obviously he wouldn’t do it for the money, it’s like the puppet shit thing expect he’s doing it and it’s probably just to get influence from kids or some shit
The part that makes me cringe is how he’s sitting off to the side of the oversized screen he’s playing on and says he’s not faking while he’s clearly faking. The group moves before his finger does and he plays just as bad as the ads do. Then when he loses, he says the big red guy takes him out in one punch, but it’s two punches. Either way, that gameplay looks like it only last 30 seconds. What comes after the big red guy? We never know cause they intentionally lose so they don’t have to simulate more play of their non game.
@@benowski23 Yep what you see is actually just a mini-game. And even that doesn't play like the ads. The ad legitimately looks fun but the game version is different.
I for real thought it was AI until I saw this video. Sure, celebrities have made mobile game ads before, but they were usually for established franchises that had already made a lot of money beforehand with a sense of polish and effort put into them. Nobody has heard of this mobile game before and it looks like an asset-flip clusterfuck with a randomly generated name. The whole ad feels like a shitpost.
Having seen these I feel like some company that didn't understand Homelander was the bad guy in a parody hired him, so he gave them a disinterested in-character performance. That's the best part about Star, no matter what he ends up guilty of - it just makes him more Homelander.
The shinny eyes and accent is obvious the ad is cashing in on him being homelander.... they are using the loophole of not naming him so or dressing him up in the supersuit to avoid paying royalties to the shows owners
@@camsctt9071 respect? greed for money is respect? What are you going to do with all that money? not help anyone of course! except for yourself. He has enough money to feed his entire famil
@@forthejoke Haha you should! Missed opportunity. 🤣 But for reals, I did a double take when I see Antony Starr for this ad. Then again I'm pretty sure I saw Chris Hemsworth for another mobile ad, Clan Clash or something. Money is money I suppose. 🤷♂️
Dude just never leaves the role. He’s doing exactly what Homelander would do. Making it seem like he’s interested in doing it but can hear just how much he hates it.
If a professional PSYCHOLOGIST does what he is paid for and designs games for children to be as addictive and manipulative into microtransactions as possible, im also calling them a sellout. Other ways to get money in both professions
If it's for children, why did they get the guy who's famous for being in an adult show? I don't like mobile games, but are people willfully ignorant to advertising where they think only mobile games use psychological tactics?
Imagine calling an actor doing actor work a sellout. Thats literally his job. The worst part is that he's not a politician or a philosopher or has never been against ads???
Hell, I'd do it AND Raid at the same time. If you can't realize that the people advertising these don't give a shit about any of this crap, then you're probably the game's intended market.
I’m honestly surprised that this situation isn’t getting that much attention considering that it’s a famous actor promoting a bottom of the barrel mobile game
Honestly that's my legitimate guess. Like my not even joking guess. They got a huge name and those companies are ROLLING in money. Like between all their mobile clickers and the whales that play them, they make BILLIONS. People have no idea how far it goes.
It does make him a sellout tho since he’s deliberately using the homelander voice instead of his accent, the acting is pretty bad and the game itself is likely horrible/infested with microtransactions
@@JohnWall-lj1mx He’s not a sellout for doing his profession. An actor getting paid to act in a commercial. It’d be selling out if he had some big stance on micro transactions or game companies releasing false content of games and then charging for it. Then if he accepted a paycheck to support all of those things he opposed for money, you’d have a point. Him doing it in character of a role he made famous doesn’t change anything, it honestly has zero to do with “selling out” 😂 Gamers get so mad about the most pointless stuff. He doesn’t play video games, he’s obviously doing the ad in character as Homelander. In other words, he knew this was going to make so many people legitimately angry, all while getting a huge paycheck and possibly being used for season five of the next season of The Boys. I’m sure they used the set for this commercial to contribute something for the show or at least for him personally in some way. In other words, he got paid to act. He’s an actor. He doesn’t play video games. But gamers are acting like he’s committed some crazy atrocity to society lmao.
@@thebadaidsHe's supporting a scam. It's on the lowet end of things compared to other products, but its still a scam. And if he isn't aware as an actor that he is supporting a scam, his agent is terrible. But since he did much worse in Spain, he probably knows what he's doing and just doesn't care like most actors.
It's literally just a mobile game ad what are people so pressed about, everyone acting like he got exposed for something. You would all have done the same for the money
