In other cultures, it seems to be common to insult a persons mother (often in sexual ways), something Swedes never do. We are amused about how some immigrants use slurs like "Your mother!"... That makes that line from Björn Gustafsson extra funny in way since we are both afraid of confrontations AND sometimes more literal or naive. Yes the film is of course a satire, but it is telling a LOT about Swedes, like the ambivalence toward the church , the super equality, Parental leave, the endless discussions and group meetings instead of getting things done, the almost naive way of handling conflicts being afraid of confrontations etc... And....how it turns upside down when we get abroad on a vacation (with some alcohol in our blood) 😄
