I mean His Lyrics is Still Dark tbh it's just hidden because if the Synthpop. He never changed. Just evolved his sound. I can even consider Faith as his Darkest Song it's just so fucked up

Again, it would make so much sense, if you listen to the Trilogy in order (starts with Track: High For This ). You just have to listen to the first 10 Tracks of Trilogy (equals the first Mixtape, which is called House of Balloons). Do not miss this opportunity :/ Track 11-20 equals the 2nd Mixtape (Thursday); Track 21-30 equals the 3rd Mixtape (Echoes of Silence)

The Weeknd's shtick when he first came into the spotlight was the super heavy, blunt and simplistic lyricism packed into the songs. Trilogy, his first three mixtapes, really shows the dark side of a young man dealing with a lot of really messed up lifestyle choices and vices. It's sort of a journey beginning with the highs of a fast lifestyle, and ending with the inevitable lows. The whole project is an amazing listen front to back. I would love to see your reaction to it! EDIT: He was only 20 years old during the making of House of Balloons (mixtape #1), and 21 for the rest of Trilogy. Important to remember when listening to the intense subject matter.

I'm late to the party but I have to mention the shadow silhouette is indirect reference to a 1922 film Nasferatu. A silent horror film about Dracula. Also used in another vampire film starring Gary oldman and Keanu reeves.

I’m really enjoying your reactions to The Weeknd! You def have to listen to the Trilogy in its entirety. It will blow your mind the things he was singing about between the ages of 19-21 because that’s how young he was during those 3 mixtapes. As well how musically creative and In tuned he was, Trilogy created its own sub genre called Dark R&B and changed the R&B genre as we know it today. Keep it up man 🙌🏽

This song is related to the illuminati as well. He says many things that gives it away but the obvious ones were the "Bring your body baby I can bring you fame" which means if you sell your body to the devil he will bring you fame and everything you ever wish for. Also the "Take you down another level, get you dancing with the devil" as soon as you sign the deal with him. just gives you chills thinking about that one FUCK

hey man! just been binging ur videos big time! love the channel and breakdowns. The weeknd (abel) is my all time favourite artist so this is awesome to see! just a heads up of his old music - a lot of it can be quite dark and he liked to explore this side of himself and sort of 'expose' it so he can see the mistakes he's making. Its a common theme across all his music about his past but just know that he does like to explore the darkness which is exactly the reason he grew so much because of how unique it is! Abel's a good guy, he's just had troubled pasts and delves into his character in his music.

Tbh in a sense the Weeknds old stuff can easily be converted into he’s y metal.. it practically hits all the same notes and has a similar arrangement.. even his singing isn’t far off there literally was a band that turned a few of his songs to metal covers and they still slapped.. this is how I realised

I still love this song like the first time i listened to it when it just got released with the whole hob mixtape. Unfortunately he fell off after 2015… but okay if his new pop sound works for him thats his choice but i love this dark sounding stuff

You see this the weeknd i miss!, Im more of fan of old weeknd.. the trilogy, kissland. beauty behind the madness, his new shit is too poppy, mainstream. It still good and I like it but it not touching his earlier work for me personall, back then it was more raw, deep, dark, honest, vulnerable, unorthodox, different, he stood out more to me. If you have the time I would highly recommend you listening to his first three mix tapes that are combined together to form "Trilogy." There is an earlier EP before this but for starters Trilogy is probably the best place to start and progress through each record in order after that.

Wicked games is The Weeknd's best song in my opinion,by far. I first listened to it in 2018 and it still gives me shivers to this day. I think he's the most talented singer/songwriter from his generation. It's no wonder he's the artist that first got me interested in the R&B genre,as I grew up mostly listening to metal music as well. Cheers!

After watching like 10 of your The Weeknd reaction videos, i gotta say, welcome to the xo fam. Every Weeknd song is a masterpiece on its own, and albums tell a cohesive story about him and the character he is creating. All of the albums are worth listening to. If you haven’t yet, check out his album Kiss Land, maybe react to Belong to the World, if you haven’t yet? Oh and definitely check his Superbowl performance! It was phenomenal!

Really loving your weeknd reactions so glad I found your channel the way you look through the lyrics and try to understand what he's trying to tell us is great more reactor's just judge the voice or the way the singer looks 🙄 are very superficial and at the end just say "Subscribe" there's barely any dissection of the music lyrics video the art pls listen to Valerie ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ there's parts he sounds like Michael and it's another song that hits you in the gut

listen to trilogy in order, it will be so much better... and check it on Spotify instead of RU-vid... Spotify versions are remastered ones and better sounding
