Ahh I'm so happy to see more Vixx from you and I'm glad you're enjoying your journey! Here's some more background info on the premise for these MVs: there was actually a Conception trailer and art film released as teasers before the comeback kicked off (really interesting music/imagery in those if you want to check those out, and a totally different vibe from Dynamite xD they never truly let us know what to expect). The trilogy itself is their most ambitious project thus far and is centered around the concept of 'Greek Gods'. Dynamite was released first, followed by Fantasy and The Closer, so everyone had their own confused theories about them as each one came out lol (but half the fun about Vixx comebacks is speculating about the intended meaning vs what we take away, since their more recent concepts are all more abstractly presented in the MV), but the storyline actually goes in reverse order from The Closer (the irony) to Fantasy to Dynamite. The gods represented in each title track are named through the titles of each mini album they belong to. Dynamite revolves around the Greek god of jealousy, Zelos. Fantasy centers around Hades, the god of death. The theme of The Closer revolves around Kratos, the god of authority. Some other little details: The beginning and end of Fantasy are sampled from Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata, aka "quasi un fantasia" (details like this are why they're regarded as "concept kings"), and the chorus is so grand it sounds like something you'd hear in a music hall or on a theater stage?? Ken and Leo both do a lot of musicals so I think their voices really shone in this one. You may have also noticed the unique camera work in the MV for The Closer - a large part of it was shot from Ken’s POV since he plays the part of the protagonist this time (Zeus), and has control over the other members, who all have their own characters too as shown in the trailer. Vixx’s MVs have gradually become more abstract and thematic over the years as they become more and more versatile, but the plot line is definitely still there, just more open to thought and interpretation compared to earlier releases like Hyde or Error. Hope this helps a bit and I can't wait to see you get into them more in the future!
You make me miss vixx with each reaction :( I have stanned so many incredible groups since then but what they had....it's unmatchable and it makes me so sad that the group had to go through so much last year. They deserve better for being one of the trendsetters in kpop.
The story is in reverse order to the album releases. 'The Closer' is first, referring to a rivalry between Leo and N for the same woman. That rivalry ends up in the Greek Underworld, of which Ravi (Hades) is king, in 'Fantasy'. Finally, 'Dynamite' (themed around Zelos, god of jealousy) talks about N's desire to win the woman away from Leo at all costs. That's a thumbnail sketch of the story. Also - if you're looking for more VIXX, react to Scentist! and Hyde!
I recommend you VIXX unit by Leo and Ravi their voice really compliment each other. the song are 'Beautiful Liar' and 'Whisper' Thank you for your reaction. I'm looking forward for your next video
Yes it is the same set as Kim Lip's solo and one of straykidz's songg because when i watched their MVs when it dropped i immediately recalled The Closer 😂 . You should watch their Japanese MVs too like Depend On Me is the opposite of Chained Up like Chained Up is them being love slaves but Depend On Me is them being the master 🙊 . And yes The Closer is abit on the heavier side of VIXX's song so it's pretty understandableee
I'm not sure if you had watch dynamite dance practice. If not yet, I would like to suggest that. Vixx is just so cool in black & white outfit. Well, they are always cool and handsome all the time hshshs
Yes, that is the set you're thinking of! I forgot the name but so many groups have filmed in that location. In The Closer (like the closing scene) Ken is the one who is free from the time freeze thing. All the MVs connect in reverse order and there's a lot of really cool theories about it. It's based on Greek mythology and each member has a character in the story.
I had the same order in which song I liked more from these 3, but now, after some years have passed, I actually listened to The Closer waaaay more than Dynamite or Fantasy.
Omg thanks so much for this reaction just seeing how you bop to the songs makes me so happy that VIXX still has that effect on anyone who discovers them💕
they basicaly disbanded tho TT I was rly sad when I found out they were once my ultimate group ;-; alnd just some random fact: they MVs have special order to watch it cause there is story which is somehow related to greek gods ^^ MY CONCEPT KINGS
