This is the strongest national final of the season so far, wow! My personal favourite is Kaarija and Cha Cha Cha. The song is so unique and catchy, and yet it still feels natural to the performer and doesn't feel enforced. It is sung in Finnish language and it also represents the culture and mentality of Finland and Finnish people, and the title is just iconic. With its unique theme it reminds me of Danish movie Another Round which won Oscar award in 2021, but songwise. Even if I am not that type of a person, it makes me get drunk and go crazy!
Finland is absolutely slaying this year. The variety, the quality, it's just wow and countries all of Europe should take note what you can do with a national final even if your country isn't that huge. There's only one song I don't like. Personally I like Lxandra, Benjamin and Käärijä most, and can't decide yet which one I want to win. It will depend on their live performance.
I can’t decide between cha cha cha and hoida mut! Keira would also be a great choice! Also “quality over quantity” is a great way to describe umk Alesia its soooo good every year
I think cha cha cha would be a fantastic option for Eurovision. Could be a potential televote winner if staged effectively. But they have some really strong songs to choose from in this selection
Lxandra's song is absolutely breathtaking. From the subtle build to the thought provoking lyrics, I really hope it has a chance to win umk. For me it definitely has the sound of a Eurovision winner but because of how subtle it is it also has potential to pass by unnoticed
Exactly!! Just based on reactions from RU-vidrs, not everyone is hyping for Lxandra. Of course not everyone has great sensitivity in music. I think the juries would definitely love this.
Oh no, you definitely need to listen to the entire songs, they are all out now ! My favourites are Kaarija, Kuumaa and Lxandra in that order, but Kaarija - Cha Cha Cha def has something special, I had the same feeling with Shum from Go-A (Ukraine) back then
Finland went from 19th to 5th place in the betting odds in 3 days. This started happening the day after Cha Cha Cha was released. I feel like it might win if it reaches Eurovision.
“Cha Cha Cha” NEEDS to win, simply because of its instant impact (which is clear based on the fan response) but I can’t say I’m not worried about the staging. It’s difficult to stage such layered and energy-filled songs because you can’t do too little on stage or else you’ll lessen said impact. Finland also hasn’t chosen right often in the past few years, but I still have some hope, BECAUSE: 2020 - fan fav, “Cicciolina” lost 2021 - fan fav, “Dark Side” won 2022 - fan fav, there were a few (mainly “Ram Pam Pam”) but none of them won 2023 - maybe it goes back to the fan fav winning again??? I know it’s a dumb reason but it’s probably my favourite song this nf season so I’m trying to be as optimistic as possible😔
What I appreciate the most from UMK is how HIGH-BUDGET everything looks and how much pure quality there is in this national selection. You can tell just from the music videos and social media that Finland is properly trying to win this year and has given us 7 options that all sorts of different people would like (personally I REALLY like 5/7 and just think that the remaining 2 are ok). I also really like that the fan favourites at the moment (which seems to be Cha Cha Cha, Hoida mut, and No Business on the Dancefloor) are 2/3 in Finnish, which is amazing because Finland last sent something in Finnish to Eurovision in, what, 2015? And even then it was a joke entry? So I'm really impressed, and I'm just hoping 1 of my 5 favourites makes it before I get disappointed again 😔
Finland is definitely playing for at least a top 10 this year, and they could get with almost any of those songs! UMK this year is not only the best national final of 2023, but probably one of the best NFs in a very long time!!! The quality here is INSANE!!! And the big fave, Cha Cha Cha, with a great performance could even be a televote winner at Liverpool!!! (I usually suck at guessing the televote's faves cause I gravitate more towards the juries' taste) Top 5 contender! And Finland has even climbed to the top 5 of the odds recently! Even though my personal favorite is Keira (what a BOP), we NEED Kaarija in ESC, that song is like one of a kind, that we don't get to see very often! And congrats Finland for this amazing NF, you guys got to be in the top 10 this year!
My favourite is Benjamin but every song is great! Don’t think I’ve ever had a national final where I have downloaded all the songs to my Eurovision playlist.
Cha Cha Cha and Huida Mut are the best in a very strong selection. Probably the best national final so far (better even than Spain) that clip of Cha Cha Cha doesn’t give anything away about how unique and brilliant the song is. Do watch the whole thing. I think you’ll be surprised. Enjoy the full songs l. They’re ally good.
One of the best National Selections so far, they're putting quality over quantity and got more good songs in it than MESC and other selections with many entries competing against each other (and Denmark, who is just anti quantity, but doesn't appreciate quality either, same will probably go for Germany, although we don't know how many songs will compete, mostly less than 10). Quantity over quality, just like with Ukraine (although Vidbir had 2 weak songs). I think that every UMK entry has the potential to qualify, maybe even to do well in the final.
I don’t get the hype around some of the fan faves, but Something to Loose? I literally get chills every time I listen to it! Very strong selection regardless.
UMK is so strong this year and it's insane! I really only can't stand Cha Cha Cha and that's because the beginning takes me out of it (something about being shouted at just isn't it for me) and then Robin's song just feels like something Armenia would send to Junior with a few lyrical tweaks. Other than that though I can't wait for UMK!
You always speak so beautifully of my country. 🇫🇮❤️ We in Finland are always very critical of ourselves. 😂 And since Sweden is our neighbor, we always compare ourselves to them and Melodifestivalen.
Live has to be nailed perfectly. Yes. Well rampampam ended up being the most streamed song of the year and had the most radioplays in history as well. BESS is one of my absolute favourite artists. I love cha cha cha and ylivoimainen, there is no bad songs, quality of the final is outstanding
I love the quality umk is serving since the last few years. My favorites so far are probably Lxandra and Käärijä, these two just feel like the songs with the most potential so far and Lxandra's song could definitely be a moment live and she will definitely stand out in this national final
Did you listen to them fully after making this video? Cause Cha Cha Cha is something that you especially need to hear fully cause that snippet didn't really do that song justice. Loved this ❤️👏👏
All of the songs feel like they're competing to be the best song of Finland in 2023, and then to Eurovision next, almost like Sanremo. Also, please tell us what you think of Cha Cha Cha. I really want to know how you reacted to the switch of genres.
There are so many good songs this year, all the songs are good but after several listenings and analyzes I would say Kuumaa (10/10), Benjamin (10/10) and Käärijä (9/10) but the others are not bad at all, really not bad.
The snippet didnt give cha cha cha justice The song is quite complex - it starts out with some kind of electrorock/rap and shifts over in more electropop. The snippet was the latter part. A reaction to the complete song would be interesting.
I think that Cha Cha Cha is overhyped but I also don't like Uno and Toy so I might be wrong. I'd send either Benjamin (slight edge) or Lxandra. I'm obsessed with KUUMAA's song but I don't think it would do as good as those two.
Oh there's an obvious stand-out song here, you just need to watch the whole videos. Käärijä is doing something completely different, even in the way the song is structured. You should check it out 😄
@@GospodinNelson yeah but for someone judging from a first listen you need the first part to hook you in. Otherwise you think the whole song is like in this clip
Honestly, they should just pick Cha Cha CHa as the winner and donate the other ones to struggling countries lol Malta should've learned with this national selection, they always bringing 40+ songs to the table and none are as strong as any of these
idk whats wow in cha cha song, i mean production wise yes it separate from other songs, but autotuned vocals and repetitive lyrcs meh..def qualifing but not sure for some higher position.
