I doubt myself when I was watching the udemy one, think I am too stupid to understand state and props, but fairly speaking that one is good too, it’s better watch this one first and go to the other one

I tried to learn React JS first grade in Computer Engineering while working as volunteer intern, and couldn't understand at all. And then I quit learning React. Now I'm in 3rd grade and with your videos, I can understand it clearly and will do that internship in the new year (january) again with knowledge!

An important point about line of code: this.changeMessage() } >Subscribe Please note that onClick functionality is wrapped within parentheses '{ }'. Some one may think why is it required. it could have also be done as: onClick = () => this.changeMessage(). The reason why parentheses are used is to ensure that at the time of loading of component, this onClick should not execute, rather it should be executed only when the related button is clicked. If the functionality of onClick is not wrapped within '{ }' then it would execute the moment related class is rendered.

Some tips about binding: // example class Car { constructor(color){ this.color = color; } clickHandler(){ console.log(this); } render(){ setTimeout(this.clickHandler, 10); // clickHandler defined as inner function } } var x = new Car("red"); console.log(x.render()); // Window {window: Window, self: Window, document: document, name: "", location: Location, …} // Solutions: // 1. using bind class Car { constructor(color){ this.color = color; } clickHandler(){ console.log(this); } render(){ setTimeout(this.clickHandler.bind(this), 10); } } // 2. using call/apply class Car { constructor(color){ this.color = color; } clickHandler(){ console.log(this); } render(){ setTimeout(this.clickHandler.call(this), 10); } } // 3. Making clickHandler callable in arrow function // if define a normal function cannot access clickHandler class Car { constructor(color){ this.color = color; } clickHandler(){ console.log(this); } render(){ setTimeout(() => this.clickHandler(), 10); } } // 4. define clickHandler as arrow function class Car { constructor(color){ this.color = color; } clickHandler = () => { console.log(this); } render(){ setTimeout(this.clickHandler, 10); } }

state is prefeered over props, when it comes to changing text on a page.... setState changes/updates a state variable value - here after a button click. onClick = { arrow function} state = is an object. this.state = { }, or this.setState({ }) props: passed into a component, parameter, immutable, props/this.props state: within a component, variables, can be changed, useState/this.state/this.setState

How come, your "h1" and button tag are displayed in the middle where no CSS styling for center is applied in JSX ?
@AM-ey2vn
@AM-ey2vn 5 лет назад
Well actually i didnt change anything and got this by default. App.css or some other css file probably has some predefined class for h1 and other "general" tags. Centering is from App.cs but H1 style comes from something called "user agent stylesheet" which I still dont know what is.
4 года назад
In App.js you can see this import "./App.css" and inside of the component "
