The reason why parentheses are used is to ensure that at the time of loading of component, this onClick should not execute, rather it should be executed only when the related button is clicked. If the functionality of onClick is not wrapped within '{ }' then it would execute the moment related class is rendered.

state is prefeered over props, when it comes to changing text on a page.... setState changes/updates a state variable value - here after a button click. onClick = { arrow function} state = is an object. this.state = { }, or this.setState({ }) props: passed into a component, parameter, immutable, props/this.props state: within a component, variables, can be changed, useState/this.state/this.setState
