I liked them all except for the last girl. She was oblivious of all the clues that it was Luke. Has she even watched the original trilogy? If she did she would what hints they pulled from ROTJ.
The moral of the story is, "If you ever find yourself in a long dark hallway and a light saber ignites on the other end and the person holding it is named SKYWALKER, you may as well kiss your @$$ goodby."!! LOL🤣🤣🤣🤣
"That could be any X-wing." "That could be anybody in a black cloak." "that could be anybody in a black cloak with a lightsaber." "...Okay, a GREEN lightsaber." "...and a black gloved hand." "...and some serious mastery of the force." This one scene made the world more emotional than the entire Rey trilogy. It's not even a close comparison.
Love the idea that Gideon practically crapped himself when he realized. You see his expression change from confidence to sheer terror. The one jedi who entered the room with both the Emperor and Vader and he walks out virtually uninjured with Emperor dead and hauling a dying vader. The terror that would generate in any imperial who ever interacted with either or knew anything about their abilities. The 2 people who brought down the jedi order get downed by one Jedi as far as the imperials knew.
I’ve seen a lot of these in another compilation, but man I’ll never ever forget this momennt and the absolute frenzy it caused online. I joke that this was the weekend of a thousand tears. 2020 was a beautiful year for Star Wars. The denial and disbelief slowly morphing to joyful realization will forever be satisfying to watch.
I remember being in the hospital with COVID when this episode aired. They brought me out of the induced coma they put me in 2 days prior to the episode. When it aired, I was still intubated and couldn't speak with the oxygen tube, but boy was I balling my eyes out when Luke showed up.
Great demonstration of the power of the Force. Dark troopers are terrifying; a single one gave elite fighters trouble but a platoon of them were not much more than training dummies for a Jedi Master who turned them into scrap in a couple of minutes without breaking a sweat. The reason you can see Gideon go from smug to petrified is because he knows there's nothing at his disposal that can stand up to a well-trained and experienced force user and, well, there's not that many left. In fact, the only known force user left is the guy who entered a room with the Emperor and Darth Vader as a prisoner and was the only one to walk out alive... now that's terror.
it's like finding a Christmas present that's been hidden under the tree for 30+ years...true Starwars fans FINALLY got what they wanted for 30+ years...
Only TWO reveals in SW that created standing ovations and tears - Rogue One, Darth Vader reveal at the end and The Mandalorian, Luke Skywalker reveal at the end. Both complete epic, badass reveals!!
Imagine you are a imperial officer and you know that Luke entered the Room with two of the most powerful people in the Galaxy and survived without a scratch.....I'd be pretty fucking terrified!
Same. It’s so hard for so many people to truly understand. Original Trilogy fans have been waiting 35+ years to see Luke’s story continue and to see a scene like this. To many millions of fans, Luke is THE Jedi. Luke only ever had 3 movies. That’s it, just three. And the original trilogy was watched repeatedly during that 35+ year time frame. That’s precisely why it’s so meaningful to so many people. Todays kids won’t be able to understand and appreciate the emphasis and importance this scene has, because they don’t have to wait as long as the OT fans had to wait. Pivotal characters today get multiple movies. Even if they star in an ensemble like the Marvel movies, all of the heroes today get more story. Which is what we wanted for Luke, as well as Han and Leia.
Mandelorian: Are you a Jedi? Jedi Master Shasta McGreenwood: Heyyyyyy! I'm like uhhhh Shasta. I'm a gay neurodivergent mtf trans jedi suffering from *severe* PTSD due to my mom's dark chocolate addiction. Oh ..... and I think I'm like here to rescue you.
It took all of the Mando crew everything they had to take out ONE Death Trooper. One Jedi plows through a freaking platoon of the things without breaking a sweat That's the power discrepancy between Jedi or Sith and everyone else in the Star Wars universe...
I love how the music is composed almost as if to say, “It’s going to be okay; Luke Skywalker is here. You’ve never heard of Luke Skywalker? You’re in for a treat.”
I like to think of the music as Mando's mindset at this point. On one hand, this Jedi is a welcome presence. On the other, this is the first Jedi he's seen, so he's erring on the side of caution.
Two takeaways from this entire scene. 1 This is proper canon Luke and what we should have seen in the sequels but were insulted instead. 2 Never cross a Skywalker in a hallway never mind an experienced force user!
One of my favorite scenes to watch reactions for, especially when the penny drops and they realize exactly who's on the scene. As I've said on other videos, there are fans, and there are FANS.
I'm not the biggest Star Wars fan out there, though of course I saw the original trilogy when it came out and loved them. The expanded universe is something I didn't have the inclination to get in. But it does bring me great joy to see these people who have invested so much time and effort in that regard so happy and emotionally fulfilled. 🙂
None of these people have any idea what the EU is. I would be shocked if they read a Star Wars EU book or comic once in their collective lives (maybe they played a popular EU game like KOTOR but that's about it). This scene was a great example of Disney having zero idea of what to do with this IP. The impetus for this scene was the general reaction to Luke's character in the sequels, that being incredibly poor. This was a mea culpa by Disney-Wars for treating an Icon with such disrespect. The problem is, this scene went nowhere, it amounted to nothing; there was a throwaway scene in season 3 with Luke and that was it. This scene was a giant tease by Disney-Wars. As always it was 1 step forward 10 steps back.
This is a nice little compilation. Has a handful of the reactors I enjoy watching, especially for Star Wars. Hopefully you get the opportunity to keep doing these and can expand on it a bit as there's several more good reactors out there. Thanks.
I Lucsfilm and Disney were managed by people who wanted to make the fans happy and make a return on the 4 Billion they gave George Lucas, they would take these reactions to heart, immediately ret con the sequel trilogy and give us the continuation of the Skywalker story that we waited 40+ years for.
THIS IS HOW WE WANTED TO SEE LUKE'S MASTER LIGHTSABER AND POWERFUL FORCE ABILITIES AT LEAST one time me in sequels but Kathy Kennedy talked Disney out of this path, forbade directors from showing Luke's mastery ifforce even since Ep:6....if IT'S SOMETHING the fans demand...KATHY KEN (WITH STERN REPRIMAND) ...GOES FOR AN OPPOSITE PLAN!
It's tremendously satisfying to see this edit, with so many expressions of sheer delight; although, the final reaction here is a bit anticlimactic because the emotion is not there like it is in most of the earlier clips in the compilation. There's no big payoff. I know, I'm really being fussy here, so I offer a sincere mea culpa. The fact that Luke made an appearance in this season was accidentally spoiled for me shortly before my partner and I watched the episode (we seldom watch shows when they are available; takes a couple weeks so we can finish other stuff up). I knew who it was under the hood, and I kept my mouth shut as the big reveal happened. It was still a very special moment for me though. I mean, come on, this was done so well .... completely epic in its scope and execution and emotional power.
Thanks for watching! I thought emmes reaction was funny compared to the other grown men losing it so I completely get why it's a bit anticlimactic, it's also why I put her last. She had also just finished watching all of Star Wars for the first time so I understand her reaction having not waited 20+ years anticipating and hoping for Luke in his prime.
When i see this bad ass scene and then see what they did to Luke in the sequels, it does not make sense, thats why those sequels suck that much, we should have seen this Luke, training Kaylo and Rey, that would have work much better but no, lets make him a wimp.
Unpopular opinion: Season 3 was fine. People mostly hate on it because of the Jack Black/Lizzo episode, and people mostly hate on that episode because of the egregious stunt casting.
@@PaulMcElligott It wasnt fine at all, it is incredibly unwatchable. The episodes surrounding that trash are also trash, every single decision they made was terrible.
How the fuck did emme react get through that whole scene and NOT KNOW who the fuck it was seems like the typical watch but not see person the same as people who listen but don't hear what's happening
Emme Reacts was atrocious. Every other reactor immediatly got goosebumps and thought it might be Luke. She literally had no idea. "For real though who is that?" SMH
“Seen anything good on TV lately?” This tweet spoiled this episode for me but it was my own fault for jumping on social media before watching the episode. If anyone gets a pass for spoilers, it can only be Mark Hamill himself.
That scene was what we were all hoping for with the Disney sequels. What we got instead was that BS Rian Johnson gave us with Luke throwing his lightsaber away..
Why didn't they do this in TLJ? It made everyone so happy, shouldn't have been relegated to a tv show. I guess alien monster boob milk was more important..... What a joke.
THIS episode was THE BEST one BY FAR! The Ahsoka episode comes at a close second, because I thought THAT was the BEST episode of The Mandalorian. But NOOO, LucasFilm gave us LUKE SKYWALKER in The Mandalorian!
You can tell that the last girl has no idea about Star Wars, all of us who love the saga, just by seeing the color of the saber and her hand we knew who she was.
That was the best. Seeing how excited she was to discover who this great Jedi was🤩 as someone born in 1977 who wore out his VHS copies of Star Wars it great to see a new generation of fans. Too bad Disney is dropping the ball. “Legends” is still my head cannon.
I hate seeing reactions of people who haven't seen the originals. Especially ROTJ. They were giving hints it was Luke the minute the x-wing came. Black cloak and clothing ( ROTJ); silver on his belt; black glove on right robotic hand; GREEN SABER! Luke's fighting styles.
I would say, the creators of the Mandolorian, who had a clear vision of the world and what they wanted to do and the characters at play. Those in charge of the sequel trilogy had none. 3 different people make 3 different movies then tried to stitch and retcon each other to try and make some sense of the disjointed mess. If they gave Filloni and Faverau the keys to make a trilogy I would have no doubt it would be just as good as this scene.
