They spend a lot of time in this film showing us Steve's character - brave, determined, and self-sacrificing - which is why he was chosen for the process and why it didn't effect him the way it did Schmidt. Unlike Tony and to some extent Thor, he didn't need to learn how to be a hero, he already had the qualities needed for the job.

I remember someone criticizing this, saying it was absolutely stupid for Steve to do this. They didn't understand the idea of anyone willingly putting themselves in harms way, all so they can save others. I just looked at them and just asked, "Mind if I explain to you what a soldier does?"

Rogers is a thinking man who will sacrifice his own life to save others. He was a hero before he was Captain America.

Every time the clip of Steve leaping onto the grenade saying “go away” “get back” makes me cry 😢. So many times in this video - I’m a mess 😂

Not many people comment on the fact that Peggy was moving towards the grenade too.

These two scenes, along with "Go get him, I can swim", "Let's go find two more", and "I ain't kissing you." are my favorite scenes of my favorite marvel movie.

And that is why he is worthy.

MCU SPOILER.... If you haven't seen them all through Endgame, DON'T read ..... It's said the moment he jumps on the grenade is the moment he became worthy of the hammer. Also, Peggy Carter ran towards the grenade.

Just to change the subject here, at 2:38, Natalie Gold, IMO, looks absolutely stunning here with her hair down like that...

My favorite part of this part with the flag is it shows the part of ignoring orders that will come into play for his character.

It says something about our military that no one in 17 years got that flag.

Even after showing a great deal of bravery, the general was STILL an a**hole. Steve was more of a man than the general ever was.

This selfless act of jumping on a grenade to save others was not invented for this movie. It's a real thing, that real soldiers have bravely done. This is what Tommy Lee's character was indeed testing for, this level of bravery. For just one recent, real-world example, look up U.S. Marine Lance Corporal Kyle Carpenter, who did this in 2010.

I was in the theatre and this scene came up and immediately knew we were in for a cheesy crapfest.

Never jump on a live grenade idc how brave you think you are because if it blows up it might blow you to pieces and turn your limbs and bones in to fragments and wound other people if a grenade lands near you get as low as possible out of the blast area that way you don’t take too much shrapnel.

These new react channels are a brilliant idea, just edit other reaction channels into one so don't have to watch all of them. Easy money lol

God, these movies are so bad. How do people keep falling for this. Its the most basic and obvious narrative/trope in the book and people are acting like its the most brilliant thing ever. Super hero movies suck
