I read 6 books in 7 days last week, so yes it is possible. You don't have to be a particularly fast reader, you just have to choose books over Netflix, tv and your phone,
Me: yeah I should do this to Also me: gets lost into the wonderful world of RU-vid My books: *stared at me intensely* Me: *whispers* I’m so sorry my loves
I love how honest this is! You can't be expected to remain a reader of young teen YA as you grow up (if you do that's fine), and I am glad that more options are coming out now with college aged/above protagonists. Best of luck!
I’m happy that you’re getting back into reading. I used to love your enthusiasm and love for reading and it’s nice to see that you still want to have that love back, even if you’re struggling for whatever reasons. You were one of the first booktubers I started watching a few years ago and I don’t think I could ever stop watching your videos even if you completely changed your videos
The Proactive Bookworm depends, for example, i try to read 100 Pages per day so if a book it’s 500pages it Just takes me 5 days BUT it takes me 5 hours to read 100pages and that might be a lot for some people
Just reading more and more! I’ve gotten faster over the years. I can read a solid 300 pages in 4-5 hours depending on how interesting the story is. But it’s mostly just continuing to read and read.
Belén Mancini i find it depends on the book too. If it’s compelling I can go hours on end! Dunno if that happens to you too. I’m trying to read faster to upload more book reviews on my channel consistently. Thanks for your insight Belen
I find that reading online is much more difficult than reading a REAL book. I can easily read a book every day unless it's one of the 400 page variety.
Monique DeWyk I’m sort of the same way. I have a kindle and I’ll feel like I’ve read 200 pages from all the swiping then I check the progress and it says like 20% LOL
This is really good advice. I also have been in the reading slump for a couple of months and it’s summer time so I should be reading a lot. Thank you, Sasha!
so far this month i have read 13 books, and i know that's not a lot to some people but i used to read five to seven books a month so it's a big step for me. I've also been the happiest this month and ive felt more productive while reading. Also so happy for you Sasha that you're planning on doing this :)
I bought a kindle in january and I think is one of the best decisions I've ever made. I was algo a big reader a few years ago but I've been in a reading slump for like the past 2 years, but my kindle changed that and helped me A LOT. Not only do I get really good book deals, but I can get books cheaper and with a single press of a button. It also helps that even though it tells you the percentage or the pages you've read, it's not the same as seeing how far are you in a book (I don't know why, but that helps me not getting fixated in reading a lot, but reading when I want to and I end up reading more). Go, Sasha! Can't wait to see the results of your reading and hearing your opinons :)
i just did 8 books in 7 days! it’s all possible, you just have to chose your book over your phone and tv, it really helped me out and put me right back into the habit of reading! x
You should check out R.S. Grey! All her book are available on Kindle Unlimited and she is such a hilarious writer. Her rom-coms are my favourites! Her book A Place in the Sun takes place in Vernazza, Italy and is so swoon-worthy!
Honestly who isn't trash for a good naughty romance xD!? I recently jumped into the treasure trove that is my mom's Margaret Moore and Juliet Landon collection and I am obsessed. I can read a whole one of their books in a day so I might as well sit outside and what for the garbage truck lmao!! Both authors write historical romance (History majors unit!) in case you wanted to check them out.
I know you've been struggling with reading over the last few years, so I'm super excited you're doing this as a way of trying to get back into reading more!
How do you listen to an audiobook and read a physical book at the same time? I can only do that if it is the same book! I mostly listen to audiobooks while doing chores.
For Android users: if your phone has the newest update, go to your settings and you should find Digital Screen Management! It shows you how long you spend on your phone, how long you spend on individual apps, and you can set a time limit to the screen and also to the apps ✨ I went from 7 hours a day to 2 😊
okkk im getting major Mera vibes from your look and I LOVE IT. Also this is inspiring me to try to read more in August! I totally feel the struggle of my phone and the adult world has really taken over my reading time!
this is such a fun challenge! i’m kinda doing something similar, though not setting like a set amount of books. i’m just getting back into reading again and having soo much fun with it❤️ (hello 5th book in outlander series)
I’m horrible about reading these days too. Definitely need to read more but also...just started Outlander for the first time so I think that’s where my recreation time will be spent 🤣
I feel this video, my reading life has been dreadful these last two years. I also tried, the "the mood will come when it comes, don't force it," and that has not worked one bit. So this month I really am pushing myself to read, and I've read 4; two audio and two ebooks. I'm currently trying my luck with a physical book, fingers crossed!
*I went a few years where I read like... less than 5 books a year. Last year I started using Libby from the library and got through 44 audio books. This year alone I'm already at 65 as of this week - with a goal of 100! So basically, audio books saved my life haha*
Well it is totally possible Coz i am 15 and i read two books in three days so yes it can be done. All u need is a peaceful environment and if u dont have that just listen to river flows in u by yirumi while reading and trust me it goes best with romance novels.
You look abs. Stunning✨ I try to avoid looking at how much I spend time on my phone. It’s disturbing😩. Yass cover of Beauty and the Billionaire😍 Enjoy your trips!
damn Sasha good luck, I believe in you 😂😂 we have similar book tastes so I'm recommending R.S.Grey books if you're in the mood for some adult romance and you've never read her books. Sex scenes are not trashy at all, full of romance and they actually have a plotline you can enjoy, and overall her books are really good, at least the 3 I've read so far! I'm pretty sure you would like her books so my recommendation stands
i'll be honest, i doubt it will help you much get over your slump - I read 10 books in 10 days last year in August and I had a lot of fun during it, that i even managed 20 books throughout the month - but i fell into a slump afterwards because I hadn't taken the time to fully get immersed into the worlds - that was last August and I'm only now slowly starting to crawl back out of that slump
If you like Adult Romance books I have to recommend my favorite author in the genre, Kristen Proby. She's an amazing author and she has plenty of books to choose from.
I read while eating breakfast, in car before work and during lunch . Once I’m home I read for another 4-6 hours . Legit can devour 3 books a week . My wallet kind of hates me
It might help to have an app - you plant a seed and then you can’t touch your phone because it’s growing, ergo you could read more 😊 there are those apps for writing too!
If you want a good indie read I highly recommend "A Mark of Fallen Flame" by Brittany Matsen. It's not on kindle unlimited but it's only $0.99 right now and it's one of my favorite books of 2019. It's technically YA but it's got a bit of steam and it's just soooo good :).
Wish you luck with your challenge. Self-bragging a bit, I actually have my digital book published and it's available on Kindle Unlimited if you are interested 😂😂😂 Sorry, I just had to say it. But I really hope you make it with your challenge. 😊
I'm trying to move away from a lot of YA too because I'm getting kinda tired of it. Under the Never Sky put the nail in the coffin for me with dystopian YA. The Caraval series and Wicked Saints were good but, I think I want to try more thrillers and mystery. I've read The Bride Collector twice and I'm moving on to the Boneman's Daughter.
