You should scrap the witchy romances and just read whatever is making you excited! Regardless of prompts, readathons are just to encourage picking up more books and you sound a million times more excited when talking about the thrillers and horror books on your TBR!

7:36 I live in the yucky part of California so I struggle with the summertime because it's like 110 and absolutely miserable, but the constant darkness in the winter also makes me depressed. basically living here means I'm only happy in October, November, March, and April 😭 I need to live somewhere where it's in the 60s & 70s all the time 😅

I honestly HATE winter!! (And I live in Florida lol) I am a spring girl personally, I love the flowers so much, and its warm but not *too* warm yet, so you can spend the day outside without it being too much!

Yes winter has been so hard the last 2 years. I think it doesn't help I am in the UK so November to March is basically darkness, wet, no sun and hardly any snow 😢 I wasn t a huge fan of Oppenheimer either

I live in Denmark and we had a snowstorm a bit over a week ago. The snow had barely melted and then we got more last night 😂 i hate the cold and snow just makes it so much worse🙈 Well its pretty, but so annoying. I struggle a lot with winter depressions, but a thing that helps me a bit, is making sure i get enough vitamins😊

I definitely agree on scrapping the tbr and reading what you want to read. There’s no point in trying to force yourself to read something when you really are just not feeling it. I finished Winter’s Orbit yesterday marking off the read a book with a W in the title. It ended up being a 4 star read for me and I would recommend it but at the same time it was pretty light on the sci-fi so I was a little disappointed. Three books down and two more to go. My next read is The Darkness Outside Us by Eliot Schrefer.

I agree with your thoughts on No One Can Know. I thought I was alone in thinking that the story got really slow in the middle. Took me a week to finish because I just wasn't that invested anymore. Oh well! Not every book can be 5 stars!

If you want a spooky, eerie witchy book that doesn't have like spells and stuff, try the Lighthouse Witches by CJ Cooke! It was 5 stars for me, the atmosphere is amazing!!

Forgot to say that I just finished "Saving Noah" by Lucinda Berry and I'm about to start "Boys In the Valley" by Phillip Fracassi -- I am so excited! I've heard such great things about it and I may also read "We Have Always Lived in the Castle" by Shirley Jackson, giving a classic a try that I've heard great things about -- also excited!

I love love love the Hobonichi planner!!!!!! I’ve used one since 2020 and I love when they get chunky and flip through them. It’s so gratifying. I’m so happy for you that you found it and find it so much fun to turn on your memories and plan out as I’m watching this video I was just setting my monthly’s. I went back to the Avec version.

i have really enjoyed both of Kate alice Marshall's adult thrillers, probably cause i dont read a ton of thrillers so i am easier to please and i think she is a good character writer and adds a bit more depth to them than other thrillers i've read. but i think i preferred What Lies in the Woods too, especially for the greek mythology stuff

The only reason I’m continuing with “The Very Secret Society” is because I’m listening on audio. Somehow as a background it’s kind of whimsical and fun. It’s not my usual type book. If I’d tried to read it the regular way, I’d likely be DNF. I think winter is hard. I live in a warmer climate, so when we get colder days it’s like a novelty and I enjoy that. Cold and dreary all the time would be tough. Here, it’s our summers that actually have me stuck inside, as it’s just too darn hot. It’s depressing!!!- just reverse of your area.

I'm sorry for watching this so late. Yes, I wish they would stop making movies 3-3.5 hours long! I also struggle through the winter usually but this year its has been mild where I live so it hasn't been too bad. Which is great because this is my first winter in my new apartment so it gives me a chance to see how winters arw going to be.

I gave No One Can Know 4.5⭐️. I LOVE an unreliable narrator and the fact that all 3 sisters were unreliable and they kept changing their story and the flashbacks kept changing and so you didn't know what actually happened until like the second to last page.... i really enjoyed it. if the main character was a little more likeable it would have been a 5 star but she was kind of annoying at times. Haha this is my first book from this author.

I DNF irregular witches twice last year because I wasn’t in the mood for it, but this month I was finally able to finish it & I really enjoyed it! But yea January didn’t feel horror-y to me this year so I read fantasy & romance lol

I couldn't wait to hear your thoughts on The Very Secret Society Of Irregular Witches. I felt exactly the same way. I just wasn't a fan. It was just okay. I kind of felt like I could have done without reading it. Also your thoughts on Winter are spot on. I just told my friend yesterday that I just want Winter to be over already. So over the bitter cold and dark. Like right now it's only 6:30 pm but feels like it's 12:30am! I want Summer. I want sunshine and want to go outdoors for walks and hiking. If I'm really being honest though, I want it to just be October again. If there was a place that had Fall weather every day I would move there immediately!

I read Stephen King book Holly I was bored with that book some parts were gory, and some parts were just drawn out the same thing over and over. I finally finished it and I gave it a four I don’t really like his books but I thought this would be better and I was disappointed but on the next which I am reading The Housemaid’s Secret ! I will see..love the first book .

I had the same issue with the irregular witches book, it was basically the same plot as the house by the cerulean sea, except not as good. I felt like what is the point of reading a worse version of something I’ve already read before

More of a comment about the golden globes, but I HATED them this year. The “jokes” weren’t funny and very targeted at women. The Barbie and Taylor “joke” made me mad and so upset. But on a more positive note, love your vlog ❤️❤️
