This year was an amazing year for the Autumn Leaf. Today 425 pulled 8 cars, including 3 heavyweights, up the steep grade through Tamaqua and on to Jim Thorpe, by itself. The light pacific struggled its way up the heavy grade, putting on a great show of wheel slips and lots of steam. I also chased the normal trips last weekend, but I got so much footage that Windows can't handle it, so I'll be releasing last week's video in 2 or 3 parts. The great thing about this morning was 425 pulling out of Port Clinton. Because of a new rule, thanks to idiots complaining about getting hit with steam (well they shouldn't have been trespassing in the yard, so it's their own fault) (Plus once the steam from the cylinder cocks hits the atmosphere, it's warm at most, not hot) the Autumn Leaf trip pulls out using the diesel, while 425 gets pushed out. But since there was no diesel today, 425 put on quite a show. Enjoy and thanks so much to the R&N for such a fantastic year.
