Why were the police riding around in the thugs car? I know large events have to pay for police presence, but that is to enforce the law, not to act as henchmen for the organisers. Conspiracy to commit a crime is an offence isn't it?

Why weren’t other members of the public told to leave the leisure centre or whatever it was? They just can’t say one person is trespassing when others are not, given that the festival hadn’t even started. I’m by no means a legal expert, but towards the end it appears the driver of the Range Rover kicks/trips you causing you to fall and damage your equipment. If so, that is criminal damage, he also goes on to physically assault you. The guy in the denim jacket, (Phil) is acting as security and following orders from the guy who assaults you. At no point does he have an SIA badge on display, that’s a custodial sentence right there. If I were you I would be looking to pursue this matter through legal channels; assault, criminal damage, also reporting the two cops for lying to you in regards to the no fly zone. Time to involve a solicitor imo.

Although this was 'caught on camera' I suspect it may not lead to anything as it reminds me of the Power To The Proletariat (PTTP) JobCentre video where he was attacked under similar circumstances and they did nothing - and the facility manager is still employed at the public expense. Outrageous.

LOL the DPA act does not allow anyone to demand anything. Even if you were a company, you would have a "legitimate interest" in filming anyone and anything you want. Data subjects can only request a copy of their data and request it is destroyed. A Data Controller can keep it if, as in this case, it may be required for legal proceedings.

Security are very simple folk, if you run they will chase you down. It’s an animalistic instinct. At some point they’ll completely forget why they’re chasing you. Like it doesn’t matter anymore.

I know it's too late for this incident but the best response I've heard about police officers trying to enforce a company's policy is Ken Livingston at Westfield where he tells the coppers they don't work for Westfield and have zero rights to try to enforce Westfield policy. No fly zone should absolutely be enforced in a large public gatherings such as a music festival. Your drone could contain an explosive if you were a terrorist and wanted to kill people. The heavy no nonsense police presence is absolutely appreciated.

"Thats the footpath over there..." The appropriate answer would have been to ask where the road for his 4x4 was. I'd have dropped whatever I was carrying and defended myself -clearly assault, no signs or cordened off area "part of the event space" means nothing. None of those 3 should be SIA approved. The PCSO and Cop were clearly lieing about the drone law. I find it odd they threatened arrest but then didn't want to be known for threatening arrest... I would be making a complaint regards the cops (which will be ignored, but still), and I would sue the festival company for the repeated acts of violence against you be the security staff. Duplicate the complaint to the SIA.

@Auditing England. I used to work for Specialized Security in the 2000's. At Reading Festival they (I don't know about know) were pretty much the police, to see a copper in one of their cars was a thing, not a common one. Every time I heard about a security' going to a local court nothing hapend. At Reading the police compound used to be next to our main compound.

Why are you trying to fly the drone? That's just provocative, and you can't fly it over people. Just be discrete, there's no need to walk around brandishing a drone in plain sight. Pointless video.

No such thing as a non drone zone. Not unless it's enforced by a NOTAM and other notices by the CAA. But a drone can't fly over the festival since it will have crowds. That doesn't mean a drone can't fly over areas where there aren't crowds of people.

I could not watch this criminal assault action and not comment... 5:43 the man with the beard appears to be wearing Anti Fascism t-shirt meaning anti fascist, then proceeds to tell people what to do like a fascist! Range Rover driver may or may not have been a police officer, but should have had hazard warning lights or blue warning lights and driving about 4 mph max as there was no threat and all interactions appeared friendly and communicative from my observation in this video. The police officer stated putting drone up may end up with an arrest. They always use the MAY word and not the WILL word. If they are so sure, then they should say WILL be arrested! This is their game of CALL MY BLUFF and intended to put people on the back foot for fear of arrest. Any details provided under duress with threats of arrest, is a ver controversial statement by the police as they use the word MAY instead of WILL because in theory… they MAY not have a leg to stand on. Each case will have it’s own merits and just because he says he is a police officer, they are quite often wrong when it comes to speaking with people while video recording interactions because they like to think they are the BOSS! The possible hazard referred to in the temporary no fly zone means somebody is claiming jurisdiction over the airspace in that area to be exclusive probably to their own drones, festival or police drones in this matter or otherwise, the TEMPORARY restriction would not be in place and would be permanent GEO Fenced. Another addition to the airspace in that restriction may be the use of helicopters to bring in famous people. If it is mainly restricted for drone use then it could easily be deemed as shared airspace for anybody with a drone so long as you don’t fly OVER crowds of people, just round them. But this is just my opinion based on the information seen in this video. This was a great video, thank you for sharing it and I comprehend your frustrations, there are some right thugs out there who think they are their own judge and executioners like these caught in your video. That is a public footpath and the festival only has permission to close it at night for safety. I believe it was closed from midnight-5am. The council allows the festival to close certain areas but if it’s not closed you have every right to be there and they have to work around you. And no the footpath does not magically end where the tarmac does. That whole area next to the river is a public park.
