I am so excited that Spotify has premium titles available now. I started a merry little meet cute, but was not vibing with it right away. I just listened to A winter in New York: a novel and loved it. I’m novice to the world of reading for fun, so I don’t have a genre I know I like or love, but I’ve watched you long enough to know how you feel about romance (and winter romance) novels so I thought it would be a good place to start. Anyway I could say a lot more, but really I just came here to say that I came aaaalll the way back (a year later) to this video to see your commentary on a merry little meet cute, so thank you for posting this and staying inspiring me to explore books and reading more. You’re the best.
This sleep over was so fun! I laughed so hard at this pictures, and almost spit my water out while watching this even though I knew what to expect HAHA I got my son a shirt for Christmas that says "So, good news ... I saw a dog today", because he is obsessed with dogs (to the point that we have to point out every dog we see while driving lol). In order for him to get the quote I had to watch Elf with him before Christmas, and point out to him when Buddy says it. He has watched Elf several times now and will not take the shirt off!
Favorite holiday romace ever, literally is called Holiday Romance by Catherine Walsh! Sooo much pining and cute how they got to know eachother. Its everything you described loving in a romance, I promise!
Girl! I was just packing up to head to my family’s house. Now I can watch this while I do my hair before going. Yay! Happy holidays to you and your family. ❄️❤️💚
I haven’t finished A Merry Little Meet Cute yet but everything you said about pining / slow burn was exactly how I was feeling about it too 😭 I want to love it so bad but that Darcy hand twitch is 100% what I want!!
Three holiday books I loved this year were Window Shopping by Tessa Bailey, The Christmas Bookshop by Jenny Colgan and One Day in December by Josie Silver 🎄 Have a Merry Christmas! xo
Kiss Her Once for Me was amazing!! I finished it in 24 hours, I couldn’t put it down! It has steamy scenes but they also have a real emotional connection as well. Also has all the cozy snowy family Christmas vibes!
Merry Christmas Lexi!!!! I agree, romance is always so much more romantic when the characters fall in love with the person rather than just the body. I think my favourite christmas movie is Miracle on 34th Street 🎅
I totally agree on your thoughts about romance/relationship development. I love some good chemistry, but there's got to be some build up - I want to be invested in them individually and together before any sexy times happen haha. I really enjoyed The Twelve Dates of Christmas (5 star) and also Faking Under the Mistletoe (4 star).
Thanks for sharing I always look forward to your vlogs. My very favorite Christmas movie is A Christmas Story. It is so nastolgic for me and brings back so many wonderful childhood memories. I hope you had a very merry Christmas. 🎅
Cozy holiday Romance recs: Holiday Romance by Catherine Walsh was my favorite this year and Duke, Actually by Jenny Holiday was my favorite last year

I would highly recommend The Mistletoe Motive by Chloe Liese! It's a short story about two people trying to save a bookstore by outselling each other. I love the representation in this one and it's probably my favorite holiday romance of all time!
Merry Christmas Eve and Happiest of holidays. I have definitely missed your videos this month...but I'm glad of your happy news. Looking forward to your creative content in your new space in 2023!
Thank you so much for all of your videos Lexi. I really enjoy it. Because of you I have picked up the love for books again and can't thank you often enough for that. I wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a fantastic New Year in good health 🎅🏻 ❤
These prompts sounded so fun! I plan to get to the Nevermoor series in 2023 in prep for the newest release of that series. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
🎅🏻 my favorite holiday movie is a French one it’s a comedy called Le Père Noël est une ordure. As for holiday book I love What Light by Jay Asher, I love that the main character is coming from a tree farm .
Merry Christmas Lexi! I totally agree with you when it comes to romances, I want the love interests to get to know each other and then fall for one another. 🎅
Talia hibbert and Chloe Liese have holiday novellas that you may enjoy. I read the latter and really loved it. It has autism rep and is set in a bookstore during the Christmas season. Major Vibes of You’ve Got Mail.
🎅 my favorite Christmas movie is Elf! I love it so much. I also really like Last Holiday. I totally agree with you about the romance book, I’m glad you talked about that.
I just finished The Holiday Swap by Maggie Knox. It wasn’t a perfect romance, but it was cute and the descriptions of the baked goods made it feel so cozy!
I felt the same way about A Merry Little Meet Cute -- it was all a fantasy to them. While I love Julie Murphy usually, I feel that both of these authors did their characters a disservice by not ever showing the reader more than the lusting. It just never felt...real. Which was a bummer. BUT My favorite holiday movie is Jack Frost with Michael Keaton. It's just so wholesome and adorable and makes me cry every year! 🎅
As someone who also loved In A Holidaze and had similar issues with Merry Little Meet Cute, I recommend Lovelight Farms or either of Jenny Bayliss's first two books (I haven't read her newest one, but it's on my list!). I was feeling like such a grinch failing at holiday romances this year until I read Lovelight Farms which is 10 years of friendship (and pining lol) to lovers.
A holiday romance recommendation is lovelight farms! It gives small town christmas magic vibes. But I guess TW for influencers 😂. I still think you would enjoy it though! 🎅
🎅🏻 Hi Lexi! 👋 First, your holiday vlogs are the best! 👏 my favorite holiday movie is, I can’t just pick one, Elf, Home Alone, how the Grinch stole Christmas and the nightmare before Christmas 🎄 😄 And for my holiday romance book recommendation, I am currently reading A very Merry Bromance by Lyssa Kay Adams so far it’s good. I’ll keep you posted 😄👍
Lexi I think you'd really love The Mistletoe Motive by Chloe Liese! It's between two people who work in the same bookstore and don't really like each other because they've never really taken the time to truly get to know each other and when they do they start falling 🤭 It's a definitely more of a slow-burn and they have really great chemistry but also really great communication (they discuss romance books together 🥵) It also has really good representation!
I gave Merry Little Meet Cute 2 stars as well. I totally get it lol. My favorite Christmas romances I read this year (out of the 17 I read 😅) were Tis the Season for Revenge by Morgan Elizabeth & Faking Christmas by Cindy Steel 🎄💕
I really enjoyed Lovelight Farms. If you are still looking for a holiday romance, I would suggest checking it out. It’s a friends to lovers and takes place in a christmas tree farm 😁
You have to read Holiday Romance by Catherine Walsh. You will love it!! It’s so funny and so cute and friends to lovers. It will be your new favorite holiday romance.
Her First Christmas Cowboy by Maisey Yates, shockingly, did it for me. I finished that book in two days (it was a novella) and it was so good, I couldn't put it down. Christmas movie I really love is Too Close for Christmas-favorite Christmas movie of all time for me!!! Merry Christmas, Alex!!! Hope you have an amazing one!! 🎅
I hope you have a great Christmas! I always love your videos. Your videos sometimes helps me when I have bad anxiety. I hope things go okay of you! Have a fun weekend
I also gave A Merry Little Meet Cute 2 stars. When I started it, I thought I was going to hate it, because I also just don’t connect with baseless lusting.. but I wanted to give it a chance. I ended up loving certain elements, but overall my gut was right. The relationship never felt fully developed. However, I do think the characters individually had some growth and self-realizations, which I can appreciate. I also realize that just because I didn’t consider this very romantic, I don’t want to discount others who really enjoy a dirty crush trope or like sex for the sake of sex. So while it just wasn’t for me, I think there are others that may even prefer it over more pine-y romance.
Oh my gosh, what I pleasant surprise! 🫶🏻 It is actually Christmas Day here so this is a wonderful gift ☺️🎁 Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays Lexi and Foxen friends!🎄♥️🦊
I don't really enjoy holiday movies, but one I really enjoyed when I was younger is one I also keep forgetting the name of. I think it was Arnold Schwarzenegger and he was trying to get this toy for his son or something? I don't know, just for some reason I really loved that movie when I was young. 🎅
I read A cross country Christmas by Courtney Walsh. Must admit I was drawn in by the cover. But I read it so fast. I instantly liked both characters and really enjoyed the story. Definitely recommend. 🚘 🎄
Merry Christmas! I hope you have a great one this year!! Hope you get lots of books. I got myself a lot of books but can't open them unttil I get back home around mid-April. LOL
Hi, Lexie! Merry Xmas! I think you should look into The Mistletoe Motive, In the weeds (KU), and Holiday Romance, Also, because you love Elf - Just like Magic (Sarah Hogle), it's a Xmas book, and it screams Elf's vibes. Thanks for the joyful vid.
Merry Christmas Lexi! 🎅 my ultimate Christmas romance is One Day in December by Joise Silver. I Owe You One by Sophie Kinsella also has a bit of a Christmas ending (audio books for both are amazing). I read 8 Perfect Hours this year, and it was my biggest surprise enjoyable read. I bought it on a whim and devoured it in a day!
Lexi, I highly recommend you go to Preppy Kitchen’s channel and look for the gingerbread cookies recipe. I tried it during Thanksgiving and it was just perfect. ❤
