I love people's reviews of GameStop but honestly I've never had a problem at GameStop. Don't go in thinking theyre going to give a million dollars for your OG XBox one and you'll be alright.

I do kind of agree with you, as there are quite literally many things that people don’t consider when selling their old stuff. For instance, any kind of old bacteria/non-visible wear and tear could have happened, and you can’t just expect them to forgive that. Yes, they do lowball the cash you get in return, but at the same time, you need to be aware of the other things that may justify the price.

My gamestop is cool, but I'm a teen and they always ask me if I would like to join their membership at the register even though I don't have a bank account or a card even 😭 I know they have to ask it though

In my experience, if you have a local small business gaming store in the area that accepts trade ins, you'll USUALLY get more money from them than from Gamestop. So, I don't really bring trade ins to Gamestop, because of that.

On another note, I remember the story of a guy that used to work at GameStop and practically gave away the best games and even consoles at a fraction of their astounding usual prices, and nobody even question it but most people took that opportunity and later realized he did that because he found out his 'boss' at the time was cheating on him with the dude's then girlfriend... And I think the boss was supposed to be his friend or something. I heard he got to do that for like a week or 5 days before he got caught and fired, but obviously didn't care. Even if it was a few days he managed to clean the shelves and got rid of their inventary and consoles, they had like 20% of their video games left and were only those horrid barbie games or movie games nobody likes haha. That dude is a legend, I hope I remembered his name... I wanna say Dave but I'm not sure so he will forever remain unknown to me unless someone else knows him and could tell me.

I'm not saying there aren't plenty of legitimate gripes to be had with businesses, but in general most people that leave negative reviews on Google are idiots and are complaining about laughably stupid things. The customer is always right has to be the worst slogan of all-time lol

Their old video reviewing old pictures is cute. They both are attractive people but each cringes at the old pictures of themselves while the other person is supportive and encouraging. I was really glad when they confirmed that they had decided to make a more official arrangement of their relationship. Also glad to see that they are in PA. It is a good state to live in.

Oh the joys of being a Gamestop employee. I once had a guy come in trying to sell a system without cables and got upset and laid down on the floor and started telling me how he needed the money to buy a gun to go shoot someone. Like I was going to be sympathetic to his cause and give him some money. Good times.

@@urgae9125 Yeah, I was freaking out. I stealthily text my manager, who was in lunch, and told him to call the police. He did not. Nothing ever happened to the guy. He actually came back in the store a few weeks later and apologized to me.

As someone who worked for and managed multiple Gamestop locations for nearly a decade, I got a real kick out of, and appreciated this video. Gamestops could vary heavily with location: sometimes you'd get a manager and staff who clearly gave a damn, and other times...well, you know. I always prided myself and staff on the customer service experiences we provided, even having regulars who chose my store over locations that were far closer to them.

Honestly I have a problem at every single game stop I’ve ever gone to. There’s always something super unprofessional about the employees or someone throwing something onto my purchase without me knowing. I see the humor but also gamestops are very bad in my personal experience

I used to work for gamestop. The company sucks! I used to have no major financial responsibilities when I was younger so I spent most of my money there. One day the district manager and my manager came up to me and accused me of using my discount for other people. I told them I didn't, but they did not believe me and laid me off. I just wanted to buy games.

That was a really fun video, and that new colour really suits you, very good choice. We don’t have Game Stop in this country but we have a different chain and those reviews you read out could very easily me about ours too. In reflection of my age I should also point out we had a chain of record stores which would have fit those reviews too. p.s. Records were circular flat discs made of a specific type of plastic (mostly black) that had music encoded on each side. Some had one tune on each side and some had multiple tunes on each side.

about a month ago I ordered a box of pokemon cards from gamestop and when it arrivedit looked VERY much like it was resealed and was openeded already, a lot of the content inside was like spilled out like the dice and little coin things it had and the cardboard border it had inside was ripped lmao, I was so sad bc I was excited, they gave me like 25k points though so it was half okay

About the Wii U, while the Gamepad is required for most Wii U games, from my understanding, there's a few games that do not require it to play and instead you can choose to use other controllers compatible with the Wii U, such as Classic Controllers and Wii Remotes, though I could be wrong and that the Gamepad needs to be involved in some way to use other controllers with it. I was one of those who saw no point in buying a Wii U, and skipped out on it. I've seen though, that my close friend Levi had one and showed me some stuff with the Gamepad, like running Kirby 64 on it I think. If some Wii U games do not require the Gamepad as a controller or involved with other controllers in some way, Zelda Wind Waker HD is one of those games, as for normal gameplay, the Gamepad is merely only needed for accessing menus like your inventory. Though, if you want to officially speedrun Wind Waker HD on the Wii U, you need the Gamepad to perform a kinda complicated glitch to skip cutscenes. If I remember right.

In regards to the one about not having a controller cause the refurbished didn't work. There was a four month period around here where no stores had any ps4 controllers. Gamestop. No. Walmart no. Pawnshops no. Not sure why but it sucked

Gamestops are going the way of Blockbusters. Online purchased games is killing the company. In the UK we have a company called CEX, which is all about trade-in media (games, movies, etc), and GAME to some extent, but they deal more with new games. When people go the total online-bought or streamed games, these stores will become extinct.

I went to my local game stop last Friday to pickup digimon survive on switch it turns out they only got 1 copy of the game that copy was reserved then I got it digital on the e shop. Even though I didn't pre-order the game I feel they should at least get at least 10 copies of a new game on launch day not just 1

8:08 this kid may be a stoner, but for quite a long time I would drive to every gamestop and walmart within an hour from my house and absolutely NOBODY had PS4 controllers for about a whole year. Even the people working would just say that they haven't been able to get any controllers in their stores. I'm sure this kid's review was legit.
