Was literally just going to put a comment like this down here. I'm binging her most recent videos cuz I just can't get enough of the "zaniness". So much fun!
I just have to say that your videos scratch an itch in my brain that I didn't know was there? I just found your channel last week but you're already my favourite person to create content on booktube and I think that says it all, so thank you for being great and talking in a way that keeps my attention up and working.
if you thought pretty girls was the IT girl, her sister book, the good daughter, is THE bombshell. The Good Daughter (god that book i remember reading in a boba shop and the first 50 pages made me scream). karin has a serious knack for creating real flawed grounded characters that really elevate the thriller genre for me, it's chef's kiss!!!!
See something I love to do is buy popular booktok mystery and thrillers and give them to my grandmother. If this woman can read a book a day and has been here for 85 years… girly knows all the tropes. All this to say I will be taking this list to her 🤭
When you started to describe Pretty Girls before reading it and you said "hallmark thriller" I almost spit out my drink bc I knew what you were in for with a Karin Slaughter novel 😅
Your next thriller cozy read should be a good girls guide to murder!! So many plot twists especially in the first two books and it keeps you on the edge of your seat while still being fun to read!! (And also heartbreaking)
Can I just say how much I absolutely LOVE the little adhd side tangents in-between reading sessions? as a (suspected) adhd girly myself it’s just nice to see what you’re up to and your random little thoughts that pop up because of course they do how could they not??? It makes it almost feel like i’m on a facetime/sleepover, just hanging out kinda vibes which is literally perfection from a channel like yours 🥰 (p.s. your news about your favorite snack and finishing the puzzle were just oh so fun to listen to you talk about ❤❤❤)
No girl, I dont think you understand, HOW I AM IN LOVE WITH YOUR CHANNEL!!! PLEASE KEEP DOIN IT, and please keep being yourself, I am being honest, watching your videos makes me feel like I am talking with my best friend! Keep up the good work and lots of love from a fan from Brazil ❤
Riley Sager is such an unpredictable author. I read the last time I lied which was quite good and then final girls which was so awful. It's like a game of chance. Loving your content! My TBR is forever growing because of you..
@Maddog441 Nope. It implies sex off page, but I don't think it has any on page descriptions. The setting was great, but the plot was not that great. On the other hand, Home before dark was really good with gothic horror themes
Honestly, this woman and this editing is SUCH. A. VIBE. I discovered your channel about 2 weeks ago with The Twisted series anddddd may I say I've been hooked ever since. (Also, I do see you've acquired books further in the series. Does this mean there would be more recaps? 😇🤪) I have watched and rewatched your videos in the last 2 weeks and had been waiting for your new one for the last 2/3 days. I rannnnn when I saw that you've uploaded today. 😂🥳 Needless to say I love how articulately you describe the content you read, how honestly you share your experiences of reading these books, whether they've been emotional or otherwise. You are the best/most entertaining content creator on this platform when it comes to books. I hope you'll continue making these kickass videos, with YOUR OWN UNIQUE WAY OF EDITING (which imo just breathe more life into your videos)🔥💘 in the future and will get to read some great books through them. 😇 Your channel sooner or later WILL BLOW UP. I. Am. A. Fan. 😇😂😂😂 - I got "Betty" and "Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow" post your video and am so excited to read them. 😇 Thanks for the recommendations hon. ❤ PS. I hope you're taking care of yourself too, lexi. 💙✨
🥺 this is such a sweet comment. thank you so much for all of your kind words, it really means a lot. twisted series in theory is continuing but lowkey book 2 was boring so i am deciding whether to skip it and cover the rest or do them all for posterity... we will see. but seriously thank you 🥺🥺🥺
I’m a former English teacher, 34 year old homeschooling mom of 4 kids and I swear I wish we were friends 😂 you could teach me what riz means and we could read great stuff 😂 I love your videos they’re so much fun, I just chuckle along as I’m doing mundane household tasks and update my Goodreads TBR 😊 HIGHLY ENTERTAINED! I’m gonna sign this like the old person I feel I am -from Brandie lol
Lmao, not the signature 😂 But also, I feel like I'm on that trajectory. Only, I'm 24 and homeschooling 2 kids and married to a former English teacher. I'd love to follow you on Goodreads, if you're into that kind of thing!!
i've come to realize that i just have to have goodreads open when watching your videos because the TBR is being UPED. and every book you read I end up reading. love it !
omg LEXI you should look into the controversy surrounding the housemaid / freida mcfadden... after i read the book, i was reading reddit discussions on it, and people brought up that it's basically the EXACT same plot as another thriller book - and apparently a few of other freida mcfadden's books also have the same plot as books by other authors!! hailey hughes also made an informative video on it, but i just thought it was super interesting that freida mcfadden has gotten so popular and not a lot of people have mentioned this!!
this is fresh, will definitely look into it... i will say the whole book was not the most original thing in the world (like it was pretty cliched already) but intriguing that there is a controversy
@@newlynova i agree, it wasn’t super groundbreaking but i believe it’s like SUPERRR similar to the other book (including the theater scene?) so people were sus!!
I absolutely love how you describe books, you found the words I didn't even know I had. Thank you for your service *salutes* and the graph ??? chef kiss
When you showed Pretty Girls I said 'no girl, don't go into this one blind!' but screaming into the past is foolish. First video of yours I saw but I'm already hooked.
i haven’t read the housemaid but i have read like 5 of her books and honestly i feel like your final description fits all of them. they aren’t the greatest thrillers ever but they keep you entertained and wanting to read more lol
listening to this video while doing my ancient egyptians puzzle (by eurographics, 1000 pieces, green box) & you doing one as well just completely threw me
oh my gosh, finally, someone has captured my exact feeling when reading the housemaid. I read it months ago and still am not sure if I liked it or not. but I think about it a lot so, that counts for... something? I don't know what, but something.
I love freida mcfadden because her books are so insane but I fly through them in a day or two so helps with my reading goal and keeps me entertained lol
when i want to take like half a day to just brain rot and play stardew valley, i put your videos on in a loop. i've watched all of them enough times that i have just downloaded your takes into my brain, which is good bc now i actually kinda care about books again
Started reading Pretty Girls from the beginning of your review. Finished it & came back. I'd been annotating and making comparisons to Gillian Flynn the whole way through, felt SO seen when you compared it to Sharp Objects (one of my all time favourite books)!
I nevvver leave comments, but I really wanted to tell you how much I love your RU-vid vids! I came from TT, and I’ve been living for the long-form content here. I could listen to you talk about books forever, thank you for your service
I saw this post while i was it school snd i literally gasped in the middle of class, I’m so excited to watch it. you are for sure my favorite booktuber snd i get so excited for every video
Your videos are the best! You’re so engaging and spot on with your reviews and always adding the best visual elements- love the graph in this one! Just read the housemaid and could not agree more with your thoughts and review. Sometimes when I read a book fast I feel like I need to rate it super high, so I love hearing you break down your reviews!
Tiktok wasn't enough for me, I had to come to your channel for more and now I'm here to stay! I love your content! Also, Magic Puzzle Company and/or Target owes you money because I immediately sprinted to buy one of their puzzles.
have never felt more sure that i will never, ever read a karen slaughter book in my entire life love the puzzle bit too, from one puzzle girlie to another (i really like ravensburger puzzles! i'm slowly collecting their disney collection) also sick exile reference
I absolutely love your videos, you’re so funny, I don’t know how you speak so well but I’m here for it! I love a good puzzle, if you haven’t done any eeBoo puzzles you should, their puzzles are so bright and vibrant and fun. 10/10 would recommend.
Another delightful video: cannibals in the basement, your description of haunted house employees and (it's my personal thing) using "adventure" instead of the dreaded 'j' word.
i loved in my dreams i hold a knife and i looked up the author and if i recall she has published romance prior to this which just felt *right* considering the passage you read and the general *relationship drama* in the book.
i am a very fearful person and will likely not be reading any of these but i could watch any video you made, explaining literally anything, for hours. like you could read an accounting textbook out loud and i would listen to the whole thing
omg youtube algorithm!! I follow you on tiktok but I'm more of a booktube girlie than a booktok girlie so I'm really glad you're here as well and that I've found you!
Love love love that I stumbled across your channel recently! You just have the most fun videos! I'm also big YA mystery thriller girlie who has been scared of home invasion since an early age so it makes sense that I love your work. Definitely adding some of the thrillers you enjoyed to my TBR!
