I finished it yesterday, and I didn't do anything whole day except finish the book! 🌚 You would want to read the next chapter after every chapter 😬 Central characters are adorable but some of the side characters are just annoying! I am still in the lavender haze 😍😍😍 Exactly like 15:10

I read it like around end of last year so it's probably been almost an year since I read the book and i really enjoyed it uptill "chapter 16" but then it just felt very meh to me after that also I really liked the scenes when like for eg when she had to put sunscreen on his back and like I was just aahh

Hi…. I am so happy to find an Indian Booktuber since Booktube is generally filled with Westerners. Below is my lengthy take on this book. No offence or hate towards anyone. The below review is my personal take. If you liked and enjoyed and loved this book, Great! Please Don’t take things personally 😊. Also I understand we shouldn’t be looking for too much of realism in Romance Novels because these are a sort of escapism. So I am glad if you enjoyed this but there were just some of the things I couldn’t overlook because for me those things were too much😂. Happy Reading to all! 😊😊😊 This book is a light read so one flies through this book in no time. And there surely are moments that you enjoy but for me it had more cringy moments than swoony ones. BELOW IS THE SPOILER TERRITORY The Good Things- 1) Adam (The MMC) Adam was an honest, hardworking guy and I really liked the part where he tells Olive (MFC) that he is hard on his students because he cares for them to do good work (He says something like that, I don’t remember the exact words, I read it 3-4 months ago and I am too lazy to go and check it😂). 2) Malcom (The Friend But Not The Best Friend) Olive’s friend Malcolm (I think this was his name) was so sweet. Malcolm not liking Adam or being scared of Adam was cute and funny. I liked it when he was talking about Adam with disdain and fear😂. 3) Representation Representation (in the sense) that Olive being a woman in STEM. Mostly women in Romance tend to be in more women centric fields so it was kind of something a bit fresh to read. And the whole thing about the not so good working conditions (like the lab situation) and lack of funding was quite right I think. My cousin is doing doctorate so that was relatable. The Not So Good Things (Honestly-The Bad Things, However, I was trying to be polite so)- 1) Anh (The Best Friend) The most irritating character I have ever read is Olive’s best friend-Anh who was constantly encouraging her to do outrightly stupid things. The below three cringy moments were because of her. 2) Cringy Moments a) The moment I could not tolerate is Olive sitting in Adam’s Lab in a lecture (or seminar whatever that was). b) Second moment was Adam helping someone with a Car Situation in front of the entire University/ College and Olive running to him and kissing him for him being so strong and helpful. c) The third moment was Olive rubbing sunscreen on Adam’s body (again in front of the entire College). If this is how doctorate students behave, I don’t know what high schoolers would do. 😂😂😂😂 Also since Olive was not under his advisement (meaning she wasn’t his student), Olive Adam dating is not unethical but it is still something that would be frowned upon (because she is a student and he is a professor and these three words-‘Student, Professor, Relationship’ in one sentence are not very well received/ perceived), so I just couldn’t understand this over the top PDA. It would have been much better if there were such private moments between them. This all being so public and so over the top made it more cringy and not at all swoony. And in all these situations Anh was like you are his GF so you should do these stupid things because sheer stupidity is entirely acceptable of you. Malcolm is a far better friend than Anh. 3) Olive The above cringe was partly because of Anh. But what really made me not like Olive was Her being upset with Adam because Adam was doing his job well. There was this whole situation where she is upset with him and then he has to explain it to her that he wants his students to do good science and that’s why is hard on them. For a doctorate student, Olive’s behaviour was too childish and immature. 4) Description of Men This is the one thing I generally don’t like in Romance Novels- Huge Beastly Description of Men. He is so huge, so big and blah blah blah!!!!……I mean once you mentioned it, I get it (I get what it implies), but stop telling this to me again and again and again.
