Drink a lot of water, change your bed sheets regularly and don't wear make up if you don't have to (let your skin breaaaath). This really help to clean skin! Also if it's dry you should get some moisturizing cream, trust me it's life saver

You’re supposed to remove nose strips slowly from the sides, going toward the center. When you rip it off fast it doesn’t really pull out as much. Blackheads are “easily breakable” so if you pull it off fast it can break them and it’ll leave some of it in your pores. (Hopefully that didn’t sound bitchy! Just trying to help you get the most out of your pore strips! 😊)

Danielle Jenkins also, apparently just ripping off could potentially damage your skin (heard this from a beauty youtuber, but I can’t remember who and don’t know the whole science behind it so I could be wrong)

Tip from someone with CRAZY dry skin who's also prone to breakouts: prioritize tackling the dryness over any breakouts. Most likely the harsh weather has messed with your moisture barrier. Once your moisture barrier been compromised you're WAY more prone to breakouts. Getting your moisture barrier solid again will keep bacteria from causing breakouts, plus no more dry skin! Sometimes treating the breakouts FIRST can compromise your moisture barrier further and cause MORE breakouts. But at the end of the day, if something works for you, go with that!!

i love all the windows in your apartment, you have an amazing view from there. i feel your pain with the breaking out. I have discovered though that aloe vera gel is amazing, so amazing for your skin! And also i use elf acne fighting foundation in porcelain cos i'm a bit pale. I get pretty bad acne and this has helped to calm things down a lot

I work on weekends and have class during the week so finding reading time is hard, but usually I read before bed like right now haha. Unlike bandaids, I'm pretty sure you're supposed to take pore strips off slowly so it pulls as many black heads and junk out of your face as possible.

My skin had similar issues when I moved to Boston and what ended up working for me was I had to start moisturizing religiously and just push through the initial increase in acne. After my skin got hydrated enough, the acne started to calm down. Idk if that helps you since I don’t know your typical skincare stuff or anything but that’s what worked for me!

I now have to get Neverwhere now. I saw it at my local bookshop and have been thinking about buying it for the last month. This has convinced me I need to read it especially with the middle grade quirkiness which is hard find in adult fiction.

If it's super hot/dry in your apartment, a humidifier is a life saver. Also, Matilda has such an expressive face. I'm expecting her to talk at any moment. F'reals. I love Trader Joe's because (at least at my location) the workers are friendly and they smile and chat and seem like they might even like their jobs. (In fact, you just encouraged me to send them feedback via their website!) What a contrast with the Jewel-Osco near me, where everyone always looks miserable. I dread going there.

I’ve read Neverwhere before, but I cannot for the life of me remember anything about it! Luckily I own a copy, so I can reread it whenever I wish to. My current read is Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli. I’m not very far into it but I’m enjoying it so far. I’m glad it’s a light read, though because I definitely need that at the moment, after finishing ACOMAF and Zenith! I love your Reading Vlogs so much, especially since you’ve made me excited about Neverwhere again! Can’t wait to reread it and watch another vlog from you! 😊😊

Matilda is adorable minus tipping over her water dish lol. I don't always feel like doing much either after working so much. Looks like it was over all a very relaxing weekend! I am curious to read both of the books you mentioned especially Neverwhere because I haven't read anything by Gaiman yet. I am currently reading The Tropic of Serpents by Marie Brennan which I'm enjoying as it's a fictional memoir about the adventures of a woman who seeks to understand Dragons. Also reading The Fire Rose by Mercedes Lackey which is also lots of fun. Planning to pick up my arc of How To Stop Time by Matt Haig and Highland Conquest by Alyson McLayne. I want to pick up Daughter of Albion by Ilka Tampke and Half-Drowned King by Linnea Hartsuyker

I had a very similar problem with my skin a couple months ago when It go unusually cold/dry where I live. A backwards as it might sound, using a deeper/heavier moisturizer that you usually use (I started using the one I usually use at night twice a day) really helped! I think when your skin dries out, it produces more oil which leads to both dry skin and breakouts. gross.

Breaking out and having dry skin at the same time is very common! So Yeah, moisturizing is actually a great idea also for zits and stuff, because your skin doesn't have enough moisture to combat the bacteria etc. It sounds counterintuitive but it works the same for me.

Having lived in a cold climate my whole life (New Brunswick, Canada) I can safely say that I understand what you're going through with your skin. Your skin gets dry from the weather and then it freaks out and overproduces oil causing breakouts. I use a black charcoal face wash from Biore to help keep my pores clean, followed by a tea tree toner from the body shop and a gentle moisturizer from First Aid Beauty. I also love my Rice Mask from Skin Food when I need extra moisture and brightening. Hope this helps! You look great in the video by the way :).

You should try rosehip oil. I break out when my skin is too dry and rosehip is amazing for hydration and is good for acne.

Aveeno is my life in winter! My skin is so dry and itchy. Also hot showers dry out your skin in the winter.

Ej Magtubo She’ll just find something else to do. One of my dogs likes to take our shoes away when he’s upset with us, not chew it just hide it. When we eat, another will take a mouthful of food, dump the food near where we are eating, and then slowly eat the food next to us so that we can SEE he wants our food, lol. This started AFTER we curbed his bark-for-Food habit. And the shoe stealer can’t steal our shoes anymore, but now will scratch your arm until you give him attention. Dogs are children at heart!

This vlog is great! If you like Neil Gaiman, you might like China Mieville, I love both of them! Kraken and UnLunDun by him both kind of remind me of Neverwhere. I love your videos, they give me so many awesome book recommendations!
