If you’d like to contribute to the kitten’s vet bills, any donation would be greatly appreciated, but please feel no obligation 💜 💉✂️: ko-fi.com/bookswithemilyfox
I think the other cats will accept him so he's iiiiiin! Chunky is playing with him (not super nicely but no hissing), Clawdia isn't loving him yet but hissing less... Charlie is less impressed lol
Don’t feel too worried about him getting along with them. My calico HATES our kitten but doesn’t attack him unless he harasses her first. The eldest will play with him though (12,10 and a five month old now 😂😂)
@@Rainbopagn the same way are my cats, my biggest as long as everyone leave him alone will accept anyone lol but the other want just follows the new cat around hissing (but without hitting him) and the little one doesn’t mind it lol
I keep thinking that cats talk amongst themselves. You can always see, if someone feeds a cat, either that cat brings her babys, or the next day more cats show up. They must be passing on the info that they found someone to take care of them.
“But he matches” 😂 I confess I only clicked on this video because of the new cat alert. Worth it 🙂. Good luck with the “fostering”. I don’t trust myself trying that either.
Love the new edition cat. I think you should name him Cameo - that way you can pretend he is just a guest appearance in your house 🙂. I could never foster kittens I would keep them all and one of my two cats would murder me in my sleep if I added any new pets. It is hard to say no tho
Not the “new edition cat” 💀 Let’s be honest, the longer he is in this house, the lower the chances he gets out. (I don’t mean for this to sound like he'll have to die to leave but… 👀)
LOL I don't think anyone believes me capable of rehoming him! I'm just wanting to make sure the other cats accept him but if they do... 🐈⬛🐈⬛🐈⬛🐈⬛ I'm glad I'm not the only one that can't foster cats without getting too attached haha
@@BookswithEmilyFox it really depends of their personality. one of my cats its super sweet and accepts every pet really fast but other one is really grumpy and doesn’t want to deal with anyone lol. try wrapping the new cat in a cloth and then let ur other cats to smell it. that way they will get a little bit more comfortable
I do love you going into these recs as an experiment/with an open mind. And Cheddar for the cat because his first appearance was with a book that talked about cheese in the first line!
What's the best spicy book you've read? Anything you think I should pick up? I've been recommended "Morning Glory Milking Farm" and I don't think I'm ready for that XD
If you're open to historical romance I would look into Courtney Milan and Tessa Dare. If you want to stick with Fantasy Romance I've found L. Penelope to have some of the best genre romance and for fantasy with a romantic b plot T. Kingfisher has a few.
If you want to stay with Monsters you could read the Monstrous series by Lily Mayne. 😅😈They are MM spicy love stories. Would maybe recommend the second book Edin to start with because it was better than the first book and you dont need to read them in order. But my favorite installment was book 5 Moth. Super cute read and not too heavy on the Monster side. If you just want spicy I would highly recommend the MM Ice Hockey Sports Romance Heated Rivalry. It was really good and even quite emotional at the end.🏒
The kitten is so cute!!!!! Kittens in need know to look for you, what an honour! That time I got drunk was the only spicy fantasy I've read and I enjoyed the fact that the author used the clichés and tropes on purpose as gags, so it wasn't accidentally funny, it was supposed to be silly that way.
Chip is very cute as a name 🩷 and I like the other commenter's suggestion Cameo buuut I'm surprised you were literally reading a book with a cat named Cinnamon and didn't chose that name!
I know how you feel about the fostering... my first fostering attempt, I adopted 2 out of 4 (would have been all 4 if we didn't have people interested (was 4 black kittens and they don't get adopted as fast). Then I rescued 15 kittens and wanted to adopt them all, but that was not possible, so I managed to get them homes. It's hard but rewarding.
i was like uuh spicy books and then UUUH A NEW CAT!? i have to watch right now! edit: he's sooo cute! totally feel the struggle with keeping or not keeping an animal, but at the end the most important thing is that he has a good life. with or without you. but i really hope the other ones will accept him TwT also I'm not really into spicy books, BUT this will be my next cover buy because he is to 99% my type😭 can't help myself i NEED this book😭
He's gorgeous! To get them used to each other once you are sure he is disease and flea free brushe them all with the same brush. This gets them used to each other's scent. And keep them separated for several days in different rooms but let them sniff each other from under the door. Once they are somewhat used to each other let them eat from separate dishes set some distance apart and gradually decrease the distance. Keep us updated on all things cat.
omg Emily, I think you should read A Man and His Cat. It's a manga series and it's soooo cute. You reminded me of the MC there who keeps "fostering" new cats lmao 🐈Also great color combination again! 💖
Your live reaction was everything 😂 very entertaining, I have that one on my tbr and now I’m wondering if I should make a grab for it for your reaction alone
That baby is so cute. I am so happy you have cats. I do remember when you said you don't want to get cats 🤣. But they choose you, you are their human now ❤️.
ah yes, the old absolutely true "fostering" ahah. I've tried it a year ago with a dog of my local shelter who needed a warm home after surgery (I already had another dog) and here I am now... with two dogs 💀. there will be no other try from me, I just want to keep them. he's so cute though ❤❤
You're out there saving all the cats of your neighborhood. I love it. Not all heroes wear capes, some read spicy romance books in their home library and save cats! Seriously though, thanks for helping the kitty and being such a kind soul💕😺
I have a recommendation (not that spicy, but it has a few explicit scenes): «Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake» by Sarah McLean (I love this author), it's an historical romance (regency or Victorian era, I don't remember) with a typical female character. Not monsters involve, only humans. The monster ones are weird, but someone recommended me one about a door as love interest. It's so cute, I'll name him Panda or Vaquita (Little cow).
WAITTT remember how when the kittens were born, there was one that (very sadly) did not make it? This is the fourth kitten that you were always meant to have, just from another mom and/or dad. It's just a late delivery :) And therefore, you are completely justified when, oh i mean, if you keep him!!
Ahahahaha a kitten has been hanging around my deck and it’s really tempting me. But 4 cats is crazy!! I just can’t (but oh how I want to). Also I’ve read all three books in this series and they are so fun.
I have four cats, it's not insane. It is enough though lol, at least for me. It's insanely expensive to keep animals. Congrats on the new addition, temporary or not. Also, you're hilarious when you review spicy books lol. I hope you find one that elicits more enjoyment because this is one of my favorites of your series.
Spicy recs, I just finished Karmilla by Luna Fury and really liked it (it's a retelling of Carmilla by J.S. leFanu which is my fav vampire story). Also Sapphic) Currently reading Caught in the Basilisk's Gaze by Malory Dunlin, and liking it! My fav book with gay smut is A Marvelous Light by Freya Marske. My all time fav spicy book is Taken by the Witch Queen by Luna Fury, no joke I like her writing and am Genuinly invested in the story (slredy resd all 5 in the series and reread book 1 for the story), also has the same pyramid shaped magic system as The Will of the Many.
Someone recommended The Graham Effect and I LOOOOOVED it. I usually get way too much secondhand embarrassment, but this was just hot. The hottest part is the honest communication 🥵
The Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Demon was a fun read. Was it the best book ever written HAHA no, but it was a fun time. I listened to it as an audiobook mostly when doing housework and it was fun. Yea new baby! Make sure you get some dewormer if you haven't. No one wants worms and they can transfer to humans!
Sure. "Fostering" 😂 Good luck with that haha. there is a saying where I'm from that roughly translates into "where 3 eat so can 4." It'd be awesome if you keep him
Cat name suggestions -Cimba is really cute -Cazam bc he showed up like magic (Catzam could be an alternate spelling). -Cimon is really cute too -Camo bc he fits in
The cat distribution system in your neighbourhood has made your house the go to house. My house also attracts cats since I have two inside and I feed the strays. 🐈⬛🐈⬛ You're "fostering" the new cat. Sure. Chip is an excellent name. Cinnamon should also be considered due to the book. 🐈⬛ For spicy books, Helen Hoang, Emily Henry, and Ali Hazelwood are my suggestions. 🔥🥵
The new cat is really cute but if he doesn't get along with the other ones that will be very stressful (as you may have experienced with mama cat). I also have 3 cats and some months ago a new one appear at my door. I took him in but he never got along with my other cats. I had to always keep them separated although I tried to put them together. Very stressful times. The cat went outside a couple weeks ago and never came back... I was actively looking for a family for him at that point because it got unbearable. If they get along that's perfect, but if they don't no point in stressing you and the cats. Good luck!
Four cats is insane is what I was saying a few years ago. Guess who has four now because of a cute little ginger boy I was supposed to foster for a few months🙄
I would love a romance vlog, not necessarily spicy, but maybe an Emily Henry book, or I've recently read This Summer Will be Different and LOVED it, so that's my recommendation, if you would like a chill romance vlog while it's still summer😊
I wonder if you'd like "The Secret Lives of Country Gentlemen by K J Charles. It has a solid adventure plot with good worldbuilding and an intense ending. The emotional relationship between the two men is also tender and well-developed.
My recommendations for spicy reads are: Her Orc King (Orcs, but they are very cute and clean) and Choosing Theo (aliens but in a modern world - is REALLY GOOD... like REALLY. My favorite book series so far with aliens).
keep himmm!! please. It is not insane.. 4 cats is how it should be.. a quartet.. I will watch all the ads before your videos, Emily, so that the vet bills are more manageable.. but keep him.. he fits right in. His name.. Cherish
Fantasy-Smut in form of a Hades & Persephone retelling: A Touch of Darkness from Scarlett St. Clair. It's a mix of modern life and the time of the Greek Gods. It's not particularly funny, but imo a really entertaining smut-romance. Each god has character traits that fit the myth, so keep in mind that Persephone is more naive due to her upbringing etc.; (the characters are written in a striking/ pithy [?] way, but overall it's not as funny and self-aware as Ice Planet Barbarians)💦
LOL! I love it! I am not a people person, I am an animal person, so I get it. In my lifetime, my family has only ever bought 2 dogs from individuals, the rest were either shelter dogs, or cats who literally walked into our house and said "I'm home". At one time, we had about 15 cats and dogs (not all ours, the neighborhood dogs knew we couldn't say no) that we were feeding and taking care of. Unfortunately, we lost our home and had to rehome all but about 2 of them. It was the most devastating thing I'd ever experienced, and I've suffered a lot of loss, especially these last 5 years. I now have 3 senior cats, all between 13-15 years old. I lost my cat Resses a few months ago and she was 13. I don't think it's fair that animals have such short lives, but they truly are God's fur-angels on earth. It is good to be so caring and loving for animals, but maybe seriously consider rehoming. I don't know your financial situation, but finances is only one part of it. My girls pretty much grew up together, but even they get jealous. Right now, Kamsahabnida (my 15 year old), is curled up in my arms and purring. This is the normal set up for us, and thankfully I work at home so it works. Only you know what is best for you and your cats, so I'm rooting for your whatever you choose. :)
I love Chip for a name lol. Or Chester. I just read one called Hard as it Gets by Laura Kaye that I'd be curious what you think of. Lol. I enjoyed the story but way too much spiciness for me. Lol.
I don't know why I'm watching this video because I don't like overtly spicy books, but here I am 😂 The new baby is sweet! He clearly loves you already and he fits right into the family. Four cats is not crazy if they end up getting along 🥰
The first spicy/dark romance book I ever read was Promises and Pomegranates. I ended up really liking it so maybe you could check it out?! Can’t wait to see what you pick next!
Chocolate Chip is an adorable name! 😻 Book rec ideas- Unhinged by Vera Valentine 🤭it’s under 100 pages so if you want another short one in the same vlog than anything by Chuck Tingle, he has pretty funny titles 🤭
I have five indoor cats. Beau (orange tabby) was my first and showed up at my parents house when he was a kitten then about six to eight months later I went to a shelter to get him a buddy and walked out with three cats (Friday a previous mom black female), Turner (a gray fluffy male tabby), and Pawsome (black male polydactyl). 😅 then last summer right after everyone was used to each other and past their youthful stage I heard a kitten crying in a field nearby and now have my fifth whos name is Kernel (black cat with a little white spot on his neck). It took a bit for him to get used to things but he fit in almost immediately. I also have SEVEN outdoor cats (mom and her six kittens) that I take care of but they're feral and outside of food, water, and shelter they don't want much to do with me. I put a cat tree and provide food and shelter for them since they have a way to get into our barn and empty chicken coop. I used to be a dog person I'm not sure how this happened lol
For spicy contemporary romances i can recommend - talia hibberts books, especially the brown sisters trilogy, the books are sooo cute and funny - The adult romances from Lynn Painter are also really good (Mr. Wrong Number, Love Wager) - Alison Cochrun (the charm offensive, kiss her once for me) both LgBtQ+ books - the Bright Falls Trilogy from Ashley Herring Blake and they are sapphic - Mia Sosa the worst best man
You really should keep him I had 5 cats once and I wish I still did, and Chip is a great name and super cute if you don’t like chip you could call him Claude to match Claudia or Carter, Cat, Crave, Crust, Crunch lol
