The scariest part of Brisa Cove isn’t the mass shooting element or the trained adversaries, but the fact that something like this could conceivably happen in the United States or elsewhere for the same reasons. While I loved SWAT 4, the missions could be a bit imaginitive (such as militant farmers storming the FDA), but one of the great things about RON is that the missions are so heavily rooted in reality. Los Suenos doesn’t feel like much of an exaggeration of Los Angeles, because in many ways it really isn’t.
I always felt like I was fighting against real people in this game. Not just a "bad guy." You never know if the guy in front of you is a civilian scared out of their mind or a guy hiding a machine gun, and one wrong move could mean the end of you or worse the life of an innocent because you were careless. Absolutely incredible experience
i try to arrest the veterans in the brisa cove level because their grievances are understandable, whereas i am much more liable to shoot the terrorists in neon nightclub, especially as they may be wearing suicide vests
Just finished playing the new update, and I can say, without hesitation, that Void has absolutely delivered. The new club mission is disorienting, and more importantly, the new AI is every bit as deadly as the community hoped it would be. Void has officially become my the indie developer to beat. I can't wait to see how this game continues to evolve!
@@fontagra.6142 Yeah, same - had pretty much mastered everything except for the farm up to now. Really looking forward to playing with the new AI and the new maps.
The fact that so many people hate this game for its depiction of violence, means the game is realistic and scary enough. I love that. Game is insane. A lot of people don't like being hit with reality. It makes them uncomfortable. To be completely honest, the violence and crime aspects and realism is what makes it so scary.
@@afterhours1337 ive not really seen any people criticize this aspect of the game, but ive seen alot of people talk about how others are mad. there was like an article and thats it.
@@atari947 ikr there was one article and that was practically it. The only other complaint I heard (which imo is kinda fair) is the release of that updated club map on the anniversery of the gay club shooting
Probably not for base game (Los Suenos) but if I remember well they do plan to do expansion packs that will take place in different points across the globe and feature various special police units , I could see something Sicario-inspired if they'll have a South American expansion
I was thinking a while back about a freeway traffic map similar to the border scene in Sicario. A gridlock scenario would also fit the LA environment quite nicely
The new maps are just perfect, I have never felt so overwhelmed by a videogame's maps in my life. The horrors presented by the new maps are awesome and unnerving. The club has hundreds of dead bodies making mountains of flesh and, inside them, you can hear their phones ringing, probably their families heard the news and are desperatelly calling their loved ones. And the clues indicating the shady underground business in the new mansion map makes it feel so wrong once you take a look in that basement and see the horrific details, like a wall full of names with ages (all kids) next to a room with cameras and cribs, obviously being a set where bad stuff is recorded. This game took realism and grotesqueness to a level other game developers don't dare to step in. I thank the work and dedication this awesome game recived, the quality it offers, this is superb work you devs have done. Void team, you deserve a lot of respect!
I used to play SWAT 4 with my friends all the time back in the day. We lost touch after a while, different continents and all. Your game brings us together from time to time. I cannot explain in words just how grateful I am to you. Thank you for being genuine, and not giving into modern day gaming tropes. Never change, VOID Interactive, this is your Magnum Opus.
I actually felt a chill down my spine when i noticed that if you listen closely in two of the body piles in night club you can hear a man crying and a woman screaming "oh god, they're all dead!" from beneath the bodies. The fact that they are probably wounded and will die before the place is secure enough to get help is truly horrifying..
Very nice, love the lore behind the terrorists/suspects. Even just having desperate drug addicts fleshes out the experience more than just "man with Balaklava and shotgun" Also makes dudes like the Russian mob at the port stand out much more.
Dude some of the suspects at Port Hoken crack me up despite the rather dark circumstances. "Let me go, Mr Policeman. I'm just here for asbestos cleanup!"
Void Interactive please read me out. Never change the theme of this game, don't make it streamlined for the sake of appealing, it doesn't have to appeal to everyone, to the mainstream. Keep it dark and most of all, realistic. People like the ones you see in the comments will always stick with you for this. Good luck with your work, i highly appreciate this.
Is it? It looks more like the menu screen to me. Mostly because of the lack of rain and green tint, but I suppose those could have been added far later on, if the map was only in the early stages.
The story behind this mission is that the senator they shot, senator freedmont, pushed a bill that cut funding to veteran welfare. They already felt abandoned by their government, and this bill pushed them over the edge
@@thedirtyhalfdozen4269 ”miss near left shoulder, hit upper right arm” You have a shooter and spotter trying to take out I’m guessing the senator before he enters the building. Also from the environment in the room these guys are in are definitely veterans. Didn’t know the complete backstory but I guessed it had something to do with cutting off aid to war veterans. Honestly this is a realistic scenario if something like that would happen.
@@thedirtyhalfdozen4269also my friend has read the backstory on the game setting. The way he describes it the city is almost to the point of a lost cause. Think of the beginning of demolition man and that is basically the situation of Los Suenos
This is not a game. It is an experience, the cold hearted truth that so many people refuse to admit. VOID is going down the right path with their game and as a early supporter I am more than happy with how the things are turning out.
@@Freikorps81 Mag dump... I sincerely hope your joking otherwise it just means that you're a lousy shot. It takes average 2-3 shots in the torso varying from the distance, and a single shot to the head on most cases. In other words, just because you suck at aiming doesn't give you the right to bad mouth RON.
@@Freikorps81 oh boy you will be surprised that magdumps happen irl especially in law enforcement and funny thing is that some criminals can survive those magdumps
I hope in the future there's more interaction with civilians rather than just tying up everyone. I want to be able to talk to civilians to gather info on where enemies might be, or maybe even need to escort some of them out. Maybe even a rescue mission like in R6, where you need to grab the VIP and leave while shooting the way out.
nope when theres still active gun man outthere theres no escorting/helping for the engaging officers, no matter how badly injured they are, stopping the killing is always the first priority
@@TheKingOfJordan1 They do bend down, i think the terrorist will prioritze killing them when they have the oppotunity, had a game where the gunman retreated back to the room to kill the hostage.
Cool voice cameo at the end there. I hope they get some of the VAs from SWAT 4 if any are available too. Damn it's good to be in a new era of proper tac shooters. This, Ground Branch, Zero Hour... it takes me back to the good old days of SWAT, and OG R6/Ghost Recon.
I know right ? Tactical shooters had the best golden age in the late 1990s and early 2000s, but sadly it faded away, now they're coming back with a bang! And man I'd kill to have the SWAT 4 cast back
@@killcount6534 he means the voice cast for the player and teammates from SWAT 4 (if you meant the cameo in this video it's "USEC 3" from Escape From Tarkov)
Great job, void! You've created a one of a kind game, that's surprisingly high quality for an indie development team. I can't wait to see where the game is heading, keep up the good work!
While this game is a tactical shooter, I also consider a horror game because of how you don’t know if you’re looking at a civilian or bad guy and also because of how disturbing/realistic the missions are
After the AI overhaul, this is truly one of the most immersive games I've ever played. The fact that enemies can fake death and fake suicide makes encounters so much more intense. We might get killed more often than we complete the mission, but it's the genuine atmosphere that brings us back.
@@xephronzz9585 moreso for the content that theyre going to relase. They've publicly stated they're going to release levels with themes like school shootings, child sexual assault, sex trafficking, political extremism, etc. and have faced a lot of conterversy for it (from gaming journalists, at least) but still wont back down on releasing this stuff. The nightclub level thats in the game, for example, has been faced with conterversy because of its "similairty" to the pulse nightclub shooting
The environmental storytelling in the new maps is absolutely on point! Those ringing phones are a punch in the gut every time. I can't wait for you guys to release a campain.
I suggest to introduce content for more interaction with wounded teammates, like downed person could, if not unconscious, still slowly move on the ground, use side arm and throwable. And teammates could save wounded teammates by first aid, dragging or carrying (since carring AI is available, why not opened to teammates?) him to safe area and give penalty to team if leaving the teammate behind. And the undead teammate could still observe others through body cams. By these I think would attract more team works and brotherhood in the game!
Really love this trailer. The music has that horror vibe, but the heavy bass in the background is a reminder that you're not defenseless and ready to put down any threat. At least this is how I see it.
Amazing work VOID. The immersion your game provides and the lore is amazing. Your team has so much talent in not only gameplay, but atmosphere and storytelling. Never change, you’re one of a kind
Thank you for never giving up on delivering!! I’ve been playing the new maps for quite some time now and I just love every single second of it! The lore building of Los Suenos just adds to my immersion!! Looking forward to what you guys will be cooking up in the near future!
i don't own the game, but i still watch this many times, and yeah it's so fuckin' hype i do have SWAT 4 and i'm so excited we finally have a spiritual successor to the SWAT series
I remember when this game was first showing Beta content, and people were SO skeptical whether it would be good or not. Whether it would fail to deliver on what was shown in its trailers like R6S. Now people are saying how good the game is and how it's leagues over AAA titles. I'm happy the game kept up with its promises.
he said 20 Plus but the actual Nightclub level shows that that is an extremely low-ball estimate for the sheer amount of victims in the building, plus the dozens outside by the entrance
Was that voice actor who I think it was at the end? Did they get Josh from Escape From Tarkov to do voice acting for one of the Operators? If they did then LETS FUCKING GO!!
Absolutely none of this should be censored. This is fucking art in its purest form. It's supposed to make you uneasy & uncomfortable by tackling real life scenarios.
Holy shit you guys are putting out updates so frequent and consistently, each one is more quality than the last and i love it. Too bad I’m on deployment because I would love to try this game out again
I’m so happy I chose to jump into this game right now. So far I’ve only tried the single player with bots because I still wanna master the controls and learn the map layouts before I jump online, but even just doing that, Im loving this game. Probably my favorite game of the year right now.
Great job guys! Keep up the great work! Thank you for not backing down from the mob and giving us realistic maps and scenarios. The game is becoming a master peace.
Hope the devs would later on design a map where you have to deal with a sniper or could viably play as a sniper to support and provide critical info to the entry team, because SWAT teams do have snipers in real life.
@@johnvang158 Or maybe they could warn you during briefing that there are snipers so you could bring smoke grenades, not to mention you could have your own sniper team to counter snipe them and/or doing sniper duels. It's a win win situation, you could have fun AND make it realistic at the same time.
The subtle elements of horror sprinkled throughout make this game so unique. In a world of tactical shooters that seek to make you feel like a God, this one makes you feel like you're walking into your own tomb. There's a real sense of danger plus the civilians add a realistic level of chaos and tension I've never seen in a game before. It makes it feel all the more rewarding when you get out clean too. Huuuge fan!
I've only recently gotten into tactical shooters. I've played Ground Branch, Insurgency Sandstorm and now Ready or Not. RON is definitely my favourite, the A.I. far and away trumps the others, and the sense of dread and discomfort for each scenario is something I haven't felt from a game in a long time. Keep up the great work!
I think my favorite thing about this game more than anything, including the grounded realism is probably the soundtrack. The way that it plays in trailers, missions, gunfights etc. I love the intense, booming sounds that perfectly accompany gameplay
This game was never meant to be “enjoyed” it’s an experience looking through the eyes of those who put chaos and madness 6 feet under. I enjoy the game for its animations, realism, graphics, guns, etc. But it becomes a horror experience when I have to clear room after room just waiting for a Barrel to be pointed at my face, trying not to get distracted by the civilian choking on their own blood down a hallway, or the aftermath of a bomb vest explosion. That’s why I love this game. It’s not a happy fun time shooter with respawns, it’s a horrific anxiety inducing experience that we are all very lucky not to live through. That’s what separates this game from others.
While Ready or Not kinda lacks content at the moment, its still a game that pushes boundaries. So many people are just used to mindless shooters where you just shoot at bad guys without thinking of them as individuals/potential innocents. While i know its "just a video game" it at least tries to convey the reality of what alot of counter terrorist groups have to face around the world. They have to immediately know whether or not the person they run into is a civilian or combatant. They have to make that split second decision and will get judged harshly if they make the wrong decision. It truly is one of the most difficult professions and im thankful ill never have to be in their position.
